  1. i think you got “the idea” wrong. the idea is outside the top 5, much like QB, a lot of DL don’t pan out and we had several holes in our rotation. If between AJE and the other 2 we got 1 premiere guy, 1 serviceable guy and a mediocre depth player I think most GMs would consider that great
  2. He also has to get back in game shape and learn a new playbook. It’s like working a holdout back into the lineup. Rarely 100% day 1. plus his 100% today isn’t his 100% we remember
  3. he was a long shot, but the franchise did him no favors. Short of a luck or manning type of prospect, any guy was an incredible king shot in that spot. at least they traded back first.
  4. Geno was my preference I couldn’t imagine saying I told you so though
  5. I think you skipped the most obvious recipient of that pass: Hines McKenzie is an erratic target, Davis isn’t quick twitch or a congested catch guy currently… getting the ball to Hines and even cook on some wheel routes out of the backfield or slants/crosses from the edge would be great. Think of guys like Reggie bush operating on the edge and often drawing a LB in coverage and then just having a corner or safety to beat for a big gain our route tree doesn’t really feature the skill set of tyreek or waddle though either. Many of us were banging the drum all off-season for another perimeter player.
  6. Not a lot of screens not elite speed frankly outside diggs not great talent on the perimeter Knox isn’t much of a tackle breaker refusal to get the ball in cooks hands This team isn’t built well for that
  7. he is leaving year 1 with a boat load credibility which is all he could ever shoot for. This was about building a foundation and he sure did that. Even their worst ball is better than anyone- I suspect even the players- expected.
  8. Next year will be fascinating. id be so curious to see what happens with a good coaching staff… but who with options is going to marry themselves to the possibility he’s fried and they can’t escape? The broncos owners will have to give an elite coach essentially a blank check, long commitment and personnel control hiring another terrible coach and not knowing what you have in Russ is worst case.
  9. If the expectation is catching every single head injury, you may as well fire the next three guys today too. It’s just not going to happen. You wont even 100% catch the obvious ones, yet alone every last head bounce, etc… without symptoms shown
  10. The same as hundreds of other non obvious concussions that are missed?
  11. I bet you can think of a lot of poor behavior that was celebrated then and is held accountable now
  12. This guy right here is just asking for more games to be moved if snow can’t be cleared in time instead, id prefer fans just simmer down
  13. whether players, other sideline personnel or just fans towards the field- lots of potential to go south for totally innocent folks on the receiving end
  14. No upside to this. Last thing we need is snowballs in the playoffs. I hope fans don’t try to call the bluff.
  15. I think millers knee might put the slightest pause in creating extra dead money and reducing flexibility in how they can manage his roster spot in the back half of the deal
  16. You might be the most dramatic one in the whole thread. Just something to reflect on.
  17. He is who he has always been. winning cures all ills. if we stopped winning it’d probably become an issue.
  18. It’s a weakness, but clearly not a dealbreaker. im not sure there’s anything to say besides that.
  19. Williams missed 4 and played 9% of the snaps in a 5th. That is a third of the season missed.
  20. there are dozens of recent examples. A few from the niners. Are you thinking of Colin kaepernick? unfortunately, it ends with needing to pay a lot of elite play makers PLUS a mediocre qb getting the biggest pay check of all- making it hard long term.
  21. Yea, without context it’s near meaningless as a stat. that said, he’s definitely leaps and bounds ahead of everyone not named Josh keenan Allen and Mike Williams have each missed significant games. To say some have missed games is underselling.
  22. if he ran in and bass slipped and got 17 yards on the kickoff we would’ve lost our minds.
  23. I’d still trade careers
  24. hell if we are that scared of bass slipping on a chip shot - who is to say he doesn’t slip trying to boom a kickoff
  25. but not about a blown coverage or a DB slipping if we give the ball back?
