Is Brandon's plan like the Astros ?
....lybob replied to MAGIC MAN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To win in the NFL you have to increase your overall talent -( FA acquisitions + drafted talent + young players getting better) has to be greater than ( FA losses + losses thru injury and retirement + talent deterioration thru age and injury) The Bills have not been able to get ahead on talent for a long time This year the Bills add talent at QB (potentially), WRs (though neither Wood, Graham or Goodwin strike me as a high quality #1 WR) and LB (Lawson, Alonso and Hughes add speed and athleticism to the LBs) This year the Bills lose talent in the OL (Levitre was a top 5 guard and Chad Rinehart was a quality backup) RB (Fred Jackson ages out) Right now I call it a wash and the Bills treading water- If Manuel turns into star then we will look back at this season as a big win if we need to take another QB in 2014 we will look back at this season as a big loss -

Liev Schreiber would make a pretty good Batman, Batman should be a little intimidating.

I'd consider it if we didn't have a team full of young WRs who seem good but not elite btw M Hunt got a sack

Bills bringing in Leinart, Beck for tryouts

skinny JaMarcus Russell if you need an arm in camp he is certainly that and probably the only guy out there who can overthrow Goodwin. -
My opinion on today's game and the preseason
....lybob replied to mrags's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
some thoughts Am I again overrating the DL ? on paper these guys should be fantastic against the run, Carrington, Dareus, K Williams , and M Williams are big boys but once again they look like they have no answer against those power sweeps . The power sweep is a hard play to defend but I don't see other teams get victimized by it play after play- good defenses blow them up from the backside or the DTs start to get penetration or the MLB reads the hole and blows up the RB- but this game gave me a flashback to last year ewwwwww. with Bryd coming back do we try Duke Williams at CB - after Gilmore our CB situation is pretty scary, I'm not saying Duke Williams is the answer but I wonder how much coverage ability we'd be giving up to get Duke's superior tackling. OL- maybe Levitre was too expensive but his loss is apparent especially in the running game - The Bills are $23,736,689.00 under the cap second only to Cleveland, I sure hope that money is earmarked to retain talent somewhere down the line , I'm kinda tired watching the Bills tread water with as much talent going as coming. -
Byrd signed tender [update: may still want to be traded]
....lybob replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never understand these "should we trade so and so posts" because how can you answer that unless you know what is on the other side of the trade 1st rd pick = yes 2n rd and below = no also if anyone is willing to give us a high quality CB no older than 28 -
weird blind spot? I thought you just had weird liver spots anyways if you're described in the post as a bag of human skin filled with eels and the tears of children - it's probably me, not Birdog.

The Bills are about 22 milion under the cap and that's with Byrd's money already accounted for - if Mario wasn't signed we'd be 34 million under the cap - so tell me who the Mario signing is preventing the Bills from getting? even with the Mario signing the Bills could have signed Levitre and one of the top 3 CBs in Free agency and still have 7 Million left over for injuries or extensions.

49ers Trade 2012 #1 Pick AJ Jenkins
....lybob replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the 49ers made out like bandits on this deal - Jon Baldwin has had poor QBs in KC but he has similar qualities as Vincent Jackson -

really we need a jeopardy type game between you, TYTT. and OC - Magox can keep score and 3rdrate can enforce the rules- me and some of the other libs can get together and talk about our feelings over your answers. -
August 14, 2013 Battle for roles at DT getting tight
....lybob replied to Nanker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My guess is that the starting 3 in a 3/4 are M. Williams DE , Dareus NT and Carrington DE, Kyle Williams is first off the bench at NT/DE and DT if switching to a 4/3 and will be in as many snaps as the starters, Jarron Gilbert will get snaps at both DE spots - then we will get one or two spots fought over by Troup, Ross, Branch, Bryant and Cross -

I went to school with a guy who was better than anyone in anything you couldn't even beat him in the negatives, if you had a cold he had cholera, if you had a sprain ankle he had his legs crushed by a steam roller. -

Your wife must be thrilled are you kidding! cancer is easy just eat a pot brownie everyday after work and walk an hour a day- but calculate this - In your party you have a 14th level wizard riding a Ki-rin, a 9th level cleric/ 7th level magic user female elf riding a unicorn, a 10th level human paladin, a 10th level human ranger , a 9th level assassin/8th level fighter half drow, and a 13th level halfling thief - you come across a Lich, an Eye Tyrant , a Mind Flayer, 2 Ogre Magi and 6 1st level Orcs- now what are the odds of coming away from the confrontation with less than two fatalities if no wishes or summoning major deities spells are allowed and your side has attack initiative but not surprise- please show no work. -

don't worry about that stuff China has it covered, engineers, infrastructure, doctors, banking - in 2012 they had about double the trade with Africa as the US and that trade will probably grow about 20% a year for a long time. -

exactly- while the earth has a carrying capacity limit we do not know what it is, 500 million some say (sorry you 6.5 billion excess people) on the upper side I've heard 40 billion - many estimates have world population growing to a little over 9 billion and then slowly declining, as populations go from developing to developed children go from as source of cheap unskilled family labor to a major expense to raise and educate, and women become a major part of the work force, the combination of women in the work force and increased numbers pursuing higher education both increase the average age of when parenthood starts.
