  1. I really think we could trade down to six and still get Dareus letting Cleveland take AJ Green
  2. RK is the John Bolton to Tom's Pat Buchanan, really Tom you should pay RK for making you seem like a reasonable person. On another note I wonder if (other than Tom) anyone on this board knows what percentage of the Jews in Israel are Semitic,or have any ancestry from the holy land,- or any belief in any type of God.
  3. Dareus is not a guy you'd get to play NT but he did play NT on passing downs and injury situations in college and could on a limited bases do so in the pros IMHO as he is extremely strong in the lower body.
  4. My personal hope is that we pick Marcell Dareus with the sixth pick of the draft after we trade down with Cleveland for their 1st and 2nd and Cleveland sneaks ahead of Cincinnati to take AJ Green. Marcell Darius reminds me of a little bigger, a little more versatile Cullen Jenkins- He has long arms despite a stocky body and he can play NT as well as DE in a 3-4 and DT in a 4-3, he's not going to get you double digits sacks but I can't think of any 3-4 DEs that do off hand, what he is going to do is fix some of our run defense problems and force some fumbles. Drafting for a little positional versatility 1. Marcell Dareus DE/NT 2a Martez Wilson ILB/OLB 2b Mark Herzlich OLB/ILB 3. Mike Pouncey OG/OC RT in a pinch 4a Jarvis Jenkins DE 4b Joseph Barksdale OT 5. Kendrick Ellis NT/DE 5.
  5. I like the trade back but not the 1st pick If SF trades up or Arizona it's for a QB, I think Fairley, and Bowens go 1 and 2 that leaves A.J Green, the 2 CBs and Dareus in the next 4 picks- If Dareus is there the Bills take him if one of the CBs are there the Bills could take him or trade down again with Detroit at that point LBs Kerrigan, Quinn, Miller, Ayers, Wilson and DEs Jordan, Heyward, Watts, are in play.
  6. 1. Maybin as a DE was about 20lbs light and that's after he bulked up 20lbs 2. Maybin was supposed to be in the 4.6s before he bulked up but at 249lbs he was in the high 4.8s at the combine 3. Maybin is thin in the legs and hips- Bruce Smith who got his weight down eventually to 255-260 still had a massive power plant at that weight- forget about bench pressing show me the guy who can push a pickup truck 15 yards the fastest. 4. Maybin built might be ok for a LB but he shows none of the the other qualities for that position- his short shuttle and three cone were average at best. 5. Maybins football (smarts, awareness, instincts) seem to be lacking now in defense of Maybin, he does have good burst, he does have long arms, and he won't be 23 until April so he's the same age as most of the guys coming out in this years draft.
  7. What if the Bills had gone after Reggie White when he was a free agent that wouldn't even have coast us a draft pick.
  8. It's a pretty good year to be in the market for a 3-4 DE. 1. Nick Fairley probably going 1-3 2. Marcell Dareus 3-7 now things get interesting with the next three all over the board 8-25 3a. Cameron Jordan 3b. Adrian Clayborn 3c. J.J. Watt next tier 20-32 4a Cameron Heyward 4b Allen Bailey generally speaking 3-4 defensive ends are not picked real high and Fairley's Status and to a lessor extent Dareus status probably has more to due with their ability to play 4-3 DT than 3-4 DE- I didn't list DaQuan Bowers but he has enough size (6,4 280 and looks a little thin at that weight) to play a 3-4 DE, the more important aspect is the mental part of playing the unglamorous run contain aspect of a 3-4 DE as opposed to the glory you get from being a 4-3 sack happy RDE. The unglamorous nature of the position might be represented by Richard Seymour who while probably the best 3-4 DE the last ten years had 8 sacks twice and averaged 4.9 sacks over 10 seasons.
  9. Social Security was never broken it has a 2.5 trillion surplus - what has been broken for a long time is the general fund which has used the social security fund surplus to hide the level of the deficit for decades, now maybe we are so broke that we want to renege on our debt obligations but it's due to a government that wants to have both high levels of spending and low tax levels not in some type of crazy excess in the social security program.
  10. Chris Ellis another Bills mystery, on the one hand not good enough to really care about but he wasn't as terrible as a bunch of the other players who didn't get cut- drugs?, bad behavior?, bad attitude? who knows.
  11. Meg Whitman? who cares, she's probably a fine CEO, I'd just like to call her up and say " You don't know me and I don't know you...you've never seen me and I've never seen you" as for HP I had one of their computers and the hard drive spontaneously disassembled about two months after I bought it and their printers kinda sucked too but that was the Carl Fiorina period- since I basically use the internet, Word processor, and calculator cheap Emachines are all I need.
  12. If those are the cuts that add up to 2.5 trillion dollars after ten years then someone is pretty piss poor at math. I think someone missed a decimal point.
  13. Totally agree with this.
  14. yeah I thought I heard about that six weeks ago.
  15. Jack, I was going to say awesome find but I noticed you posted it the first time. KD in CT you are a copy cat and should be ashamed I'm sure there are other example of blue collar boozing you could find- btw Boehner called and said 15 minutes of boozing is pretty pathetic.
  16. Mental Health care is expensive and with state revenues in decline I expect a lot of states are cutting services. link another example link
  17. The old-timers didn't approve of us because we drank beer................instead of whiskey.
  18. Sorry Dan, you are doomed, there is no winning against OC he will brilliantly rip apart arguments you never made and score point after point in a debate that exists nowhere except his fevered little mind- but if you think emoticons are the foundation of good conversation then he's your man.
  19. Never had a pony tail but when I started going bald I decide to just use clippers at the shortest setting - I do have a gray goatee if you want to mock.
  20. Work hard, lunch hard- when I young I worked the 11pm-7am shift at a mill that turned steel ingots into re-bar, billets, and sheets everyone had beer at lunch except for the old-timers who went to a bar about a block away and pound shots and ate grilled steak sandwiches- later when I worked construction everyone drank beer at lunch and if someone had a doob that was just great- I don't know what your work history is but if you've never worked a job that is of a physically repetitive nature you might not know that such jobs can put you in physical pain and that a little alcohol and a smoke can make you feel a lot better.
  21. From what I've seen (just what I've been able to find on the internet) they play very differently- Fairly just rips through a gap and causes havoc in the backfield while what I've seen from Dareus is him walking a blocker backwards, locating the guy with the ball, tossing the blocker away and making a nasty hit- Dareus actually reminds me a little of Bruce Smith only not lean, mean, 270lbs Bruce Smith but rookie rolypoly 300+lbs Bruce Smith.
  22. Only the last 20 years- the problem is I feel guilty if I don't vote and I really don't want to throw my vote away on a (Bob Barr or Cynthia Mckinne sp)protest vote- so I end up trying to vote for the least worse candidate- hope for the best and try to give the benefit of the doubt and usually end up saying oh well @#$#ed again.
  23. I purpose that the top 300 eligible players be gathered into a stadium wearing Velcro vests and a small Walmart type nametage, then each team will have two representatives, a spotter in the stands armed with binoculars and a locator armed with 7 Velcro team logos. The spotter and the locator will have electronic communications to allow the spotter to guide the locator. Teams locators will enter the field in order of worst to first with a five second delay between each team. special rules. 1. The Pats locator will be blindfolded and have his feet tied together.
  24. Aaron Rogers new contract with 20mil guaranteed probably accounted for most of that.
  25. If the NFL has a lockout would the players be free to sign with an upstart league.
