  1. I'm am a little surprised by the cut. I thought Thigpen would be cut first. There is clearly a bond between Chan and Tyler.

Making the move for Jackson clearly had an impact. Jackson makes Brad Smith somewhat expendable as well. Chan seems to take care of his past players no matter what, regardless of talent. This is the only reason I can see why Choice and Thigpen are still on the team.

I think we are looking at what is to be the last year of the Chan Gailey era.

  2. Is it to early to start the "Who will be the Bills head coach in 2013" threads.

Quarterbacking and play calling have me concerned going into the season.

I think we all know that Fitz isn't the guy (although I would love to think he is).

I don't believe that Gailey is the guy either (Chan please prove me wrong).

Preseason has not gotten me excited about the regular season though I am looking forward to it.

  3. Why all this panic about QB?

Man the season hasn't even started, and all I see are topics about this QB and that QB.

I don't get it, we are going with whos here. Worry about QB's later

I guess the point is we all know we are going to have to get a QB. We have known this for years. It would be nice if Buddy factored this in one of his drafts. VY was not a bad move but spotty play from the QB position this year has to put Gailey in the hot seat.

  4. Not meaning to p*ss in your wheaties but I don't believe Fitz threw for 72% completions, 115 QB rating during the broken rib part of the season. I could be wrong and often am - please feel free to bring evidence to support your view

In case no one else noticed, with Pears and Wood in sporadically and no extra help in the backfield, our OL is not giving the QB scads of time to throw long

With the #2s in, to buy VY time to complete to Graham there were 2 extra blockers in the backfield Corey Mac and ?(I think-#29) Choice.

    We need our Wood.

Fitz did have a good 3 game stretch last year ending with the Redskin game but he doesn't look like the pre-contract Fitz so far this preseason (granted it is just preseason). He looks like he did during the mysterious broken rib and just got paid part of last season. Keep in mind Fitz last 2 seasons in Buffalo are the only seasons in his career where he has thrown more touchdowns than inteceptions and last year he led the league in pic's only throwing one more touchdown than interception.

Back to the original point I don't think we have the QB answer on the team but VY is looking much better than Thigpen at this point.

  5. I agree, Vince needs the reps and he is the only QB in the Bills camp that I can see improving. This guy has the talent and the arm to get it done. He just needs to know the system better. I look at how Thigpen struggles against the other teams third unit and I compare him to a rookie like Kirk Cousins who is looking great, and he pales in comparison. By the way Fitz is still playing like he has a broken rib..how long does it take to heal?

  6. From Amherst (Within walking distance of Duff's) attended college in Washington DC. I now reside in Richmond VA (Glen Allen).

I attend Bills games when they play the Redskins, Eagles or Ravens. I'm obviously a die hard fan because I'm on blogs like this one daily. Richmond is the first town I have lived in that doesn't have a professional sports team. What I would give for a Bocce's Pizza.

  7. Would like to think it was Russell Wilson or a QB somewhere. How necessary was the TJ Graham pick? A QB here would have been less of a reach. No matter how good the team is, an injury to Fitz early in the season with Thigpen filling in will put their jobs in jeopardy as it should. The draft seemed good but time will tell. I think Buddy sleeps another year at QB. We are still extremely vulnerable and primed for another non playoff year if Fitz is injured. When Buddy was with San Diego they drafted Rivers when they had Brees??? Does he feel that Fitz does not need the competition that they felt Brees did?

  8. kuechly is miles better than sheppard. if we're going BPA, i don't know what planet you're on that you think nix will have him at 24. he's one of the top 7-8 prospects in the draft. absolute stud.

Miles better?? That remains to be seen I wouldn't be surprise to see him slip into the latter half of the first round (see Poz). We need depth at LB but I think we will go with a position of need where we need a day one starter, OT or WR and not a LB that will be a second string absolute stud providing we stay at 10.

  9. Like Peyton Manning just did to the Seahaks, McNabb said no to the Buffalo Bills before they even entered into talks....

Here is a link that states...

""The most recent hit to the city's pride came when Donovan McNabb declined a trade to the Bills that included a contract extension. Though McNabb would finally have a city full of fans who would be behind him and have a chance to play out his career until he decides the time has come, Donovan declined. ""

I'm freaking cheering that Mcstupid didn't want to go to the Buffalo Bills, the guy that didn't know NFL games could end in ties. The guy that doesn't know how to properly run a 2 min drill.

I'm glad Donovan didn't want to come to the Bills but I was hoping that we would have addressed our QB issue better than what we have. Being close to the Washington Met it is very clear that the Shanahan's can not develop a QB. Hopefully they will be gone before they hurt RG3's career. McNabb/Shanahan duo was a disaster waiting to happen. The real problem being Kyle Shanahan. However focusing on the Bills, we need to address the QB issue this year, Fitz is not the long term answer and we have no backup for him. We will probably grab one in the rounds where we have extra picks depending on who is available.

  10. Terrell Davis was great, no doubt. But that O-line deserves more credit than it gets. To see Terrell Davis, Mike Anderson and Olandis Gary all have equal success there, that tells me the line was doing a kick-ass job. But TD was a special back, without a doubt.

I didn't realize Anderson and Gary had 2000 yards seasons. Maybe the success wasn't that equal after all...but the line did do a kick ass job. It's when I first heard of the zone blocking schemes.

Now everyone points to his pro day numbers, I say who cares? I really don't give a rats Bippy what he ran the 40 in. The kid has 3 very productive seasons under his belt, very smart, great team mate and works his butt off. All of those factors are what Buddy Nix looks for.

NFL network said he had the best feet and lower body of top OT's outside of Kalil.

You can you usually figure who Buddy is targeting by the players he interviews.

Jonathan Martin, Andre Branch, Brian Osweiler, Chandler Jones. I would not be surprised if these players ended up in Bills uniforms. I can't figure what wr's or cb's they are targeting and a trade down scenario seems to be in order.

  12. I was actually disappointed when I heard we were going after Meachem and happy when we didn't land him. He has been in NO for years and could never move up beyond Devery Henderson. Not a big play maker even with Brees throwing to him. We will be much better off with Floyd or Hill if we go that route in the draft. SD will miss VJ. I think Anderson is more proven in his position than Meachem. I'm cautiously happy with Anderson.

  13. S. Johnson

    D. Hagan

    M. Easley

    N. Roosevelt

    D. Jones

    D. Nelson

    D. Clowney

    R. Parrish

    R. Martin

    ------------

Those are the only sure shots... the rest all suck IMO (except healthy Parrish)

I agree but I am one of the few that thinks Roosevelt can be a good receiver. He has done nothing but make plays. Martin, Clowney and Jones can be replaced. Easley deserves a shot because he looked very good in Training camp last year but he is on the bubble.

  14. The rate the phish are trying to get a QB we should trade Thigpen for Miami's first. Might even be able to swing Thigpen for Cameron Wake.

Since we had the opportunity to sign Wake before he went to Miami and didn't, we should just cut Thigpen immediately. I'm sure we will eventually swallow our pride when Thigpen wins 5 straight super bowls and is voted the greatest football player of all time by everyone that says he sucks. All Bills fans will hang there head in shame as the HOF in Canton opens the new Thigpen wing.

  15. Does anyone else miss the red helmet. I think it would go much better with the jerseys that will be coming out shortly..

Always a fan of the red helmet. When you see the red and white side by side the Buffalo is bigger on the red helmet, it's a better looking helmet. I like the white helmet with the blue jerseys but I wish we could at least have the red helmets with the white jerseys. The white helmets are straight out of Pops Warner.
