  1. if B. Rice is sitting there in later rounds we should run to the podium. Developmental pick but has all the right traits.
  2. They seemed to take a step back against KC. Kincaid had 5 receptions on 5 targets but only for around 50 yards.
  3. Right. The game is actually less important than the week long practices for evaluation purposes.
  4. I think a lot will depend on how many premium prospects at the WR position are still on the board after say the 20th spot. Or if there is a guy they have targeted and really like they may move up especially if they fear a team ahead of them taking the guy or being leapfrogged by a team with a big WR need picking after them but capable of moving up, even aggressively (KC).
  5. While Higgins has lots of nice things to say about the Bengals he and his camp continue to insist on a contract. The Bengals are not extending him so maybe where they wind up is tag and trade.
  6. My nightmare is KC leapfrogging us to nab a WR that we covet and would have taken at 28.
  7. Though a very tough call right now I have DM as the #1 prospect at QB though I think he's going 2nd or 3rd in the first. JMO but I cannot imagine JD as a 4th round prospect. I think he's also going 2nd or 3rd overall.
  8. 6'3" is a lot better for "physical dominance" imo.
  9. I think Pats go QB (JD) and Tee Higgins in FA. But I do agree MHJ is hard to pass on.
  10. I would pair Mooney with A. Mitchell. I would not be surprised if the Pats took Higgins in FA to pair with JD. Higgins is what Devante Parker should be but is not. They are fine with what they have got as slot receivers.
  11. Especially for a guy whose calling card is supposed to be physical dominance.
  12. I think Leggette's 40 could disappoint those thinking he's running in the 4.3s. My guess is low to mid-4.4s at best. His field/ play speed is probably very fast and frankly I would think that's more important than his 40 time but he is a long strider who needs a few steps to max out.
  13. Some say that WR needy teams passing on Leggette will live to regret it like they did with Metcalf. Certainly that's possible but I don't know how likely it is. One of the things that makes the top of this years class special is a relatively low risk when projecting them to the next level (though of course they all have weaknesses and things to improve on). Leggette strikes me as more of a boom or bust prospect than any of the other highly rated players. I certainly wouldn't say that the Bills have to take him at 28, especially considering who else might well be available. But if the Bills do take him rest assured I will be 100% behind him.
  14. I don't expect him to be the pick, probably off the board by 28, but I do think he'd be fantastic in McD's D. The fact that he is versatile and can also project at safety at the next level doesn't detract from what he brings to the table imo. If he turns out to be Ed or Troy I'd live with it lol. But you know my preference if an elite WR prospect is there when we pick. BTW you were right to call out my conspiracy theory insofar as Jeremiah's reason for mocking Newton to us is concerned.
  15. I don't actually disagree with anything you said either. See my response to Old Timer.
  16. I certainly hear you. In fact the proof of your position is this years Chiefs who are going to the Super Bowl based on the strength of their D in spite of having in the opinion of many the best QB in the League under center. No one is saying that D, including interior D line, is not a need that needs to be addressed, either by signing Jones, looking at other FAs, and the draft (which though not like last years class, is still pretty deep. A guy like Sweat who I like (and would like even more if he lost 20lbs) has draft grades all over the lot. Could be there in the second for us, possibly after a modest move up. And there are others. I am certainly not against a D heavy draft. And I would be absolutely fine with a guy like Dejean or DT with our first pick - BUT only if the top WR prospects are off the board. I think a few of them will likely still be there at 28. I define that group as immediate impact players. These guys are all better than Addison who was high on the Bills radar as a first rounder last year and better than Quentin Johnson, better than Treylon Burks the year before.. Fundamental to my approach is the belief that Allen's passing game has significant untapped potential that could be realized with the appropriate scheme fit based on the right traits.
  17. There are other ways of addressing the DL needs. This draft is actually pretty deep at those positions. You don't have to take the best DT prospect with your first round pick, especially a 3 tech if you feel Ed should be seeing the field more. The top shelf receivers in this historic class are all probably immediate impact players but while the class is deep there is a significant drop off after the first/early second. Right now we are positioned to get one of those guys but we probably won't be back end of the second round. An immediate impact WR would absolutely improve the passing game overall by adding a dimension that is clearly lacking.
  18. Maybe by the numbers but not in terms of leverage/benefit if you consider who we have under centre.
  19. In his first mock draft he has us taking the 3 tech J. Newton at 28, which is exactly where he has him in his top 50. Jeremiah is pretty shrewd so I was a little taken aback given our obvious need for a couple of WRs in what is an outstanding class. You know why he's doing this though. He is looking squarely at McD with his outsized influence on our drafts. I sure hope he is wrong but if he's not I'm going to start tearing up the cobblestones. A. Mitchell all day please.
  20. I see that Ekbuka is going back to OH. I guess he wants to show what he can do as the primary receiver. Given the strength of 2024 class that's probably a good decision.
  21. If you are not so much into 6'4" guys you might like Ekbuka/ Ladd McConkey. There is a lot to be said for those guys.
  22. I would take A. Mitchell well ahead of Leggette. In fact I might well be disinclined to pick him in the first at all, especially considering strength of class. I'm not that bothered by his being a one year wonder or his age but what does bother me is that even in his breakout year he was a no show against the best competition that he faced. I haven't seen his game tape so it's possible his sub par game stats are attributable to something unrelated to his performance but it was definitely a clear trend like maybe 4 games against good Ds. I also don't much like that his reported height was so off the mark. Lets see how he runs. I'm thinking maybe in the 4.4s when the dust settles. A. Mitchell is projected to run around 4.5 and all things considered that is good enough to establish him as a threat at all three levels. I agree that we could complement him with a true burner but guys like that should be available later in the draft (John Brown was a 3rd rounder) or look at a cheap FA like Mooney who is very fast, gets separation, is only a couple of years older than Legette (26) and is a vet with a 1000 yard season to his credit. A better prospect imo.
  23. I wonder what Jayden Daniels will be worth after they get through ruining him.
