The worst I have seen gave us 20" of snow in January.
Wow. Had no idea. That can't be the norm, though. How much snow do you typically get in a winter?

I don't think SJ13 needs anymore attention. This team needs to focus and worry about themselves. Screw the NJ Yets DC!
Yup. At least start winning games before you act like an idiot.

Chilly and wet in winter .... that's going out on a limb.
Our wooly bears are black and orange.
What is a bad winter in North Carolina, anyway?

That fake stainless steel color.

Were you stalking Jack? If he goes missing we know where to direct the authorities to.
Don't be ridiculous. I'm a one Mod man.

i'm a lifelong Yankee fan, and I am not sure if Mo can't be considered the best Yankee ever. Jeter, Dimaggio, Mantle, Ruth, Berra yeah, they had all the glamor because they hit the ball. But Mo, was the best for pretty much 19 years. But I guess to be considered ONE of the best among that illustrious group isn't too shabby.
It's tough to call a closer the best anything ever, other than the best closer, in my opinion. Before I continue, please let me make perfectly clear that Mariano Rivera is a first-ballot, unanimous HOF player and is the best closer in the history of baseball.
What set Mariano apart from other closers was his longevity/durability. I believe the average "lifespan" of a MLB closer is under 3 years. Just think about the craze surrounding the likes of John Wetteland, John Rocker, Eric Gagne, Francisco Rodriguez. Then look how quickly they disappeared.
That said, Mariano's ability to stay healthy (I've always credited his mechanics) allowed him to compile these phenomenal stats. Being on a perennial playoff team didn't hurt, either. But, in fairness, Mo was a big reason the Yanks were a perennial playoff team.
I don't think he can be considered the greatest Yankee ever, simply because of the nature of his role. The closer always comes in with a lead. He usually comes in with no inherited runners. He never encounters a situation where batters are seeing him for the second time in a game. Those are huge advantages. Furthermore, he pitches every few days (Mo had 64 appearances this year; I'm not sure what the average is for a closer).
I think, whenever the "best Yankee ever" discussion comes up, you have to look at every day players and go from there.
Mariano is EASILY one of the greatest Yankees ever ... just as easily as he is the greatest closer in the world.
Even greater than his statistics and his endurance ... he is one of the classiest men to ever wear a uniform in all of professional sports.

I was up in the ADK yesterday. Made it an easy day, only checked out Kenwells, Sawyer Mt, and Cathedral Pines.
Up near Indian Lake, Jack? How is the foliage?

My avatar pic was taken in Indian Lake. Where you hiked may be pictured in the distance.

48o, not yet sunny, 93% humidity, winds calm.
It was 39 degrees when I left for work. I wanted to ride my motorcycle but that's just too damn cold. In a few hours it will be perfect riding weather. Pisses me right off.

A true New Yorker will win. Likely one of Hispanic heritage. Like a Puerto Rican.

Well past my forties. I was good looking in my 20's in my 30's and in my 40's....look more distinguished these days than good looking. Seen good looking women in their forties but never really was all that impressed with the fellas.
You realize what this means .... we need to have a Mr. TBD pageant.
-
We never had good looking teachers. Especially gym teachers!!! Now it's a completely different story.

I usually don't know all the #'s beyond starters. I don't know but a few if I saw them in person if you told me they played for the Bills. However, I could tell you the characteristics of each player. The good and bad. I could tell you what coverage they are playing before I could tell you what number Robey is.
That's also a big reason why I make those big analytical threads I create. It let's a lot of the casual football fans learn about the X's and O's
Boyst, you're more of what I'd consider a student of defenses; which isn't related to you being a Bills fan, per se. Your analytical threads are good, because no one can choose sides between X's and O's. Thanks for those threads.

Looks like a big-ass gazebo. How wonderfully symbolic of the Bills, though.
Sweet heart, I didn't want to show you until it was done. But, open your eyes. I built our dream home!
Its a giant !@#$ing gazebo.
Isn't it grand!?
Gazebos have to be huge. That's where companies banish their smoking employees to.
-
Interesting picture. I would assume, they are laying that curve out for the foundation? ?? Kinda of an unorthodox wall there.
Looked to me like they're building a gazebo.

I want the Bills to play the Jaguars 16 times/year. Then I want them to play them again in the playoffs.
-
I am ,generally, very happy when the Bills win a game, and just kind of blase when they lose. To some, that is being a "bad fan"...to me, it is just being a "smarter fan".
Exactly.

I fit in that category I believe. I Do not study roster moves, contracts, cap space, or break down film. But when we nailed that 2 point conversion to make it 20-20 I was screaming and yelling and clapping my hands. I don't know the formation or even who caught it. I just like seeing the Bills win. Does not knowing the details make me less of a fan?
I'm a lot of things before I'm a Bills fan. A dad. A son. A brother. A husband. An employee. A homeowner. Lots of things. I don't break down film (let's face it - these guys are watching youtube videos); nor can I name defensive schemes. I pay attention to roster moves. I look up contract details when I'm curious, but I can't rattle them off at a moment's notice.
I consider myself every bit as much of a Bills fan as the guys who know how many pimples are on Garrison's Sanborn's ass on every game day.
To me ... if the Bills are the only NFL team you never want to see lose ... then you're a fan.

Finally. Someone drove Jboyst away.

Can't find my putter. But I found my wood.

I'm beginning to wonder myself but merely interested in hearing what the majority thinks?
Umm ... what?
