  1. I've tried to make this point to a multitude of folks, some get it, some don't. The key, IMO :D , is to understand that you have a right to your opinion in the same way as the person you're conversing with does. If you're trying to change someone's opinion...stop...because it isn't going to happen. State your belief and move on. I rarely post more than one or two comments in any football thread; state your case and move along. We can argue all day, but, in the end, we'll both be where we were to begin with. Keep it civil...this goes both ways. Attacks against someone you feel is overly pessimistic aren't OK. Attacks against someone you feel is overly optimistic aren't OK. Our wise leader has, in the TOS, invoked the golden rule & all would be well served to keep this in mind (Tom notwithstanding).

    What is TOS?

  2. Here's an idea. Let the guy rest in peace. Sorry you can't drag his name through the mud and have the personal satisfaction of dragging skeletons from his closet when he's no longer here to explain or defend his actions, Sacha.

May and Taylor aren't blocking this for more money. They're blocking it to save the legacy of their dear friend.

    I commend them.

I'd love to see a biopic of Mercury. He is one of my favorite rock stars/vocalists of all time. My first live show was Queen. He was an inspiration.

If he wanted the world to know of all of his indiscretions, my guess is that he would have either told the world on his own terms - or given someone else explicit instructions. It's apparent he did neither.

This is a man who knew his death was imminent long before he passed. It's clear he died with the world knowing what he wanted the world to know.

    That should be respected. Forever.

    !@#$ you, Sacha Baron.

    Edit: fixed a typo

  3.

No, it has to do with a certain % of women being lonely, desperate, needing attention, etc. The teacher/student power trip thing just plays into it for some of them.

Also, I doubt there has been much of a spike. We just have the internet and media industry now to make world news out of every minor incident.

I think it has a lot to do with texts and emails. It's a lot easier for the students and teachers to get something going via these means of communication. In the past, the options were phone calls or hand-written letter/notes. The phone calls would be too dangerous and the hand-written notes allowed too much time to think that, "hey ... This might be wrong."

Now, you write it; you hit send; and the conversation has begun. And it snowballs from there.

It's just too easy. I'm not making excuses; just offering one possible explanation.

And yes ... I'm pissed that it wasn't this easy 25 years ago when I was in high school.

  4. Does anybody really care? He was a practice squad guy that was occasionally called up when injuries hit. He couldnt even start on a crappy wr group that we had the past few years.

The OP cared. I care - I always liked Roosevelt. If you don't care, perhaps you should have simply moved on, rather than post something unnecessarily obnoxious. Just a thought. Have a great day!!

  5. I appreciate this story but could t possibly read after the first paragraph realizing how boring this is. Computer talk for pages upon pages is just horrible. It would be like reading stereo instructions cover to cover.

Damn. I just bought the 2004 Bose Wave Radio manual for my Kindle, too. Son of a!

  6. I think using the no huddle exclusively enabled Manuel to engineer the game winning drive against Carolina. However, I think it should be used situationally, rather than exclusively. It's counter-productive right now. If they continue to run it, it just shows (to me) that the coaching staff is stubborn. I hope they do the right thing.

  7. Then I'm interested to hear your opinion. There was a huge shift in sound that started with Roll the Bones, became WAY more pronounced with Counterparts, and continues to this day. A big-time return to their roots as a guitar-driven "power trio" with reduced use of synths.

Okay ... I tried, but I don't like it. I respect that they have changed over time. That's totally understandable. Given the fact that this came out in 2002 (originally), I was expecting some meatier bass lines and drumming. Geddy Lee overdoes the chords on the bass, in my opinion. The drums sound like a drum machine ... certainly drums that could be programmed by a drum machine.

These things just aren't so on their first 10 albums. But I get it ... their 10th album was 30 years ago and 13 years prior to Vapor Trails.

They're different bands. I respect the talent in the record, but it's just not the Rush that I like.

Some Rush fans love all of their stuff. I have a very close friend who loves all Rush albums.

I love every album through Moving Pictures.

I like Signals, Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows. Their synth movement didn't bother me because the drums, bass and guitar all remained phenomenal.

I thought Presto, Hold Your Fire and Roll the Bones were okay.

And then I just stopped listening. I'm glad I listened to this and I appreciate you sharing the link.

I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying it's not my cup of tea.

Now I'm in the mood for old Rush, though. I think I'll do some Fly By Night!

  8. Is it too early to give Jeff Tuel a try? - They did. In preseason. He sucked.

Should Freddy be the starting runningback? - If he is on the field for the first play, but ends up with less carries than CJ, is he still the starter?

Have you seen 30 for 30 on earn of Ricky Williams? Jerius Byrd carries himself the exact same way as the careless Ricky who walk away from the game! - Yes, I have; no, he doesn't.

Do we re sign Carrington for cheap now during the off season ? - Bigger fish to fry.

Could we move woods to LG and find a center on the market? - Woods is awfully small for a LG and he's not even a lineman.

How long has Rus Brandon been serving as president and CEO without the title? - Did you leave the last "s" off for savings?

Is Marrone/Hackett the same as Gaily/Wanstad(spell check that) - Is a HC/OC the same as any HC/DC ? (no)

  9. Rolling Stone is streaming the whole damn thing!

I'm only on Ceiling Unlimited, but check out the guitars at the end of track 1 - completely unheard in the original. Every single bass line is so much cleaner. I think this is gonna rapidly move up on my "favorite Rush disks" chart.

I'm just starting it now. This is the first new Rush album I've listened to since Roll the Bones. I have to leave in 20 min. to run errands, but I'll finish the album upon my return and let you know what I think. (I love Rush, but stopped listening to new stuff quite a while ago, as you can see)
