  1. This generally means it's time to move on. Probably best for both parties, much like Denver did this year. I imagine the same will hit Belichek in a few years. At a certain point, everything stays status quo and there needs to be new life, new blood injected into the system.

Yes, it's best to lose with a different coach than keep someone with a proven track record of winning games.

  2. It's not a question of Money, it's a question of control. That's why we won't get a big name (or good) head coach.

Also, why is everyone on Gruden's wagon? Also, with the adulation on for the down the field attack...wouldn't his horizontal passing game be an anathema to this? Maybe if he gets Monte Kiffin to come as his defensive coordinator or something.

  3. The world really is yin and yang I guess. Some want to replace Jauron because he is a bad coach. Several replacement candidates have been mentioned and have had their accomplishments diminshed as people attribute their success to the players around them or a system that was already in place.

Makes you kind of wonder if the problem is Jauron, the talent, or the organizational system in place prior to his arrival???

I feel it's all 3 but people want to blame a single source for all of the Bills woes.

It's hard to focus on more than one thing at a time. Which seems to be a problem for the Bills too

  4. Why? They signed an over the hill WR, got praised by the whole league for a great move and then cut him because he can't play anymore. No need to read too much in to it.

They will also be praised for having the "courage" to cut him. Then they will be praised for re-signing him later.

  5. Whereas Peters, who missed four games to injury over five seasons with the Bills, is injury prone. Got it.

Actually, I don't think anyone here thinks he was "injured". That quote from Peters about "having" to go back is actually real. I think we all know he was taking the bold stand for all players in the league demanding his 500k "finish the game" bonus. I just don't get all this Peters bashing...not just any player would sit out a game where his team needed him, it takes real heart to make that stand.

  6. I would have had to go back,” Peters said.

Would have had to go back???? That'd been a real bummer, eh FatBoy?

The price to go back would have gone up at that point. Would have been like 1 million since he's be more valuable then. The Eagles were cheap and they got their QB killed because of it. They could have had Peters in the game for that extra 500k, but they didn't want to pay and look where that got them.

  7. There's a certain demeanor of acceptability that comes from a bit higher up than April. Do you think McKelvin wasn't made aware of his responsibility? He ignored because *he* could make something happen..these players don't fear consequences and that comes from a paygrade higher than Bobby April.

  8. I would look to the middle linebacker position before blaming Byrd for our run defense today.......

I thought it was your MLB who was supposed to be patrolling that area?

No, he patrols the weight room. Possibly several streets down where he gets his roids. Anything else might break his brittle bones.

  9. And if he can get to 7-9, maybe another one as well... :worthy:

I kinda assumed at the time they let Schonert go, he was given a reprieve for this season. I wouldn't be shocked to see him back. I felt stronger about that after Walker was let go that he is being given a year to let the line develop, etc.

  10. I think the wimp comments come from a misunderstanding or from an inability to express what they mean. Trent's obviously taking a ridiculous amount of punishment. People seem to call him a "wimp" because he attempts to avoid it.

It's like someone stepping out of the way of a train coming down the tracks. They lose the game of chicken, but keep on breathing. People have a problem because Trent play the game of chicken with the train and stands on the tracks long enough to get hit, but they feel like he didn't stand in there and take the hit to win the game.
