  1. Well put Big Cat. Merriman will have a big impact just because everyone knows what he's capable of. Teams game plan for a guy like Merriman( Blocking schemes to put 2 blockers on a pass play, instead of one, etc). Or running to Kelsay's side instead.
  2. Well, im sure Theismann thinks so. Taylor was the first modern day weak side rush backer. He had an extreme angle at the LOS and had rare athleticism. Thus, the way to compensate for that was to angle the OT's feet differently. If you haven't read LT's "Living on the Edge" Book, it's a good read.
  3. Pretty sure 97 rock will have it. They carried last weeks game vs the Bears. Also had a pregame show an hour early.
  4. I dont care if he played at 255-265 ever. He's still softer than baby crap on a summer day.
  5. They should take Maybin's contract and put it in the pension fund for employees.
  6. The Brantley Stats are from 2009. I know John personally, and he will not be a 1st round pick.
  7. Weis did mention Kyle Williams as the "nuisance in the middle who was a player."
  8. I did used to go to Lesters (awesome place by the way). I moved to back to Florida after after graduating college to teach and coach. Yeah he was walking with a noticable limp. He had to periodically sit while speaking with us during his presentation. He's still a big guy. Weis is actually pretty funny too, pointing out to ask John Gruden about the tuck rule after he spoke to us, in a joking matter. After the media asked Gruden about the tuck rule, he wasn't very happy. P.S. Thanks for the compliments guys. It's much appreciated!
  9. Yeah I am a defensive coordinator in a town about 45 mins south of Gainesville. There were coaches there from school even from the Carolinas. All schools have an opportunity to go if they wish. Most just don't don't go, which is baffling to me.
  10. Thoner, Yeah it was a coaching conference. And a damn good one at that. Each coach had an hour of presentation, then time to answer questions. Throughout the day you could talk to the coach anytime you wanted (lunch, dinner, free time). For example; Dan Quinn (defensive coordinator-Formerly Seahawks D-line coach) spoke on turnovers, focusing on his Ball Hawk method (dip, rip, bat, picks). each coach would show Clips related to their topic.Weis walked on not abandoning the play (stretch as previously mentioned against the Bills.
  11. While at the University of Florida yesterday I had an opportunity to sit down and listen to Weis talk about the Bills/Cheifs game last year and J. Charles/ Thomas Jones (274 combined rushing yards vs. Bills) He showed a bunch of cut-ups from the game and said he ran one running play all game because of the bills not adjusting numbers wise on defense. This one play was a stretch play that was set up as Reciever Left/T.E. left. Slot and other reciever to the right. Single back. He said they ran this one play 95% of the time because the Bills would not bring the numbers (until OT) in the box to stop the run. He simply said they would flip sides and run it again to the strong side, because the bills just would not match numbers throughout the entire game. What does this say about George Edwards last year? Charlie Weis also said he really respects the Bills and the environment that they play in. He said no doubt the toughest place to play in the NFL. Period. Also, Bill Belichick was at the Gators private practice yesterday, he's a tiny dude. Just posting a non-related Draft/ Lockout thread.
  12. FYI- the ad never had Brohm in it, that was just a picture used to depict a helmet-to-helmet hit. It was the Wake Forest practice one. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2011/01/nfl-asked-toyota-to-remove-helmet-to-helmet-hid-from-tv-ad/1 http://theredzone.org/BlogDescription/tabid/61/EntryId/14356/NFL-asks-Toyota-to-remove-helmet-hit-from-ad/Default.aspx
  13. +1 on the Ryan quote Who really cares about this crap? There is FAR worse things that go on in the NFL.
  14. he also said on his twitter account that whoever votes for him the most, will get that vizio tv.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoQII6vrPHE&safety_mode=true&persist_safety_mode=1 Vs. Colt McCoy led Texas Longhorns. Form your own opinion.
  16. Watching those NEB highlights I'm not too impressed with Acho. Seems like he got swallowed up a lot by bigger lineman. Granted he does have some good plays in there. But we're also trying to get guys who constantly disrupt plays, not guys who are mediocre anchors on the line, we have enough of those with Stroud and Edwards.
  17. I read that same article. It had numerous teams on the list of possible "fits" for teams who have a possible need at QB. Here's the link http://espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/post/_/id/20146/considering-vince-young-landing-spots No where does it say that it is he is more likely to end up in B-Lo than say Cincy, and the other 10 or so teams on the list.
  18. So you're saying he got drafted because of all his religious beliefs? How he publicy praises God? The broncos I don't think would have shelled out the money on a 25th pick if they didn't think he was worth it (unless they thought they were going to sell 41M worth of tickets-in the next 5 years)
  19. Man i loved the documentary. Being in Ocala (25 mins from Gainesville) and being a Gator fan i would have loved to have him on the Bills. After you watch this you can't help but WANT a kid on your team who has his mindset, trains as hard as he does, and doesn't let outside things phase him. I think he is gonna be a good one.
  20. The one most recent was the Algae Crumpler TD vs. New England
  21. Courtney Upshaw/ LB / Alabama http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=382614
