Neither. We need a starting QB with Fitz as the backup and Smith as the gadget QB/utility-guy in my opinion. Getting there however is no easy task.

My son gets sports illustrated and a writer in the latest issue (didn't ask his name) thinks the Bills will go 7-9 and come in 3rd in the AFC East. That's not far from .500 and I'd call him a professional. I see somewhere between 4 and 6 wins likely myself but if the Bills stay healthy (particularly Merriman and Dareus) and their opponents have key injuries i could see 7 wins.

Maybe because of this .. A regular-season, Sunday afternoon home team game will be blacked

I never understood how the NFL got away with that one since sunday ticket subscribers do pay money to watch the games. Back in the day I was able to change the zipcode on my directv smartcard (that goes in the receiver) to Utica on Bills blackout gamedays and watch the game anyway. Unfortunately not possible anymore. You can still find a buddy outside the blackout area who gets the ticket and have him add an extra receiver under his contract and send it to you. A lot of work for 3 or 4 blacked out games a season though Yes the ticket gets blacked out too.

The first 2 are already sold out and the Toronto game is technically a sellout as well. The rest are going to depend upon how well the Bills play up to that point.

So any journalist who thinks the Bills will be last in the AFC East is a hack who is too stupid to see how vastly the Bills have improved from their 4-12 last season. And anyone that thinks the Bills have some kind of shot at a wildcard is astute. Got it. Man, the regular season can't start fast enough for me so we can actually see what we have this season.

I thought overall that the Bills starters looked better than they did in the first 2 games. But I saw that game as two teams trading mistakes a lot of the time.

Based on this post alone you are not the most optimistic. There are some that honestly believe the playoffs are a very reasonable expectation this season.
