  1. You are saying you want to build the offense around a career backup (until now) who does not have the skills to start on the vast majority of teams in the NFL simply because he does not suck as much as Edwards, Johnson, or Losman? Seriously? It is almost impossible not to like Fitz. Like you said he is smart, durable, and level headed. But a starting QB at the NFL level he simply is not. Much less a franchise guy that you build an offense around in my opinion.
  2. Anyone who watched the last 3 games and thinks the Bills will bounce back against one of the teams that humiliated them within those 3 weeks is a God of optimism in my opinion! And I salute you!
  3. Well, yeah. That has been Fitz his entire career. Why he has been a career backup until now. He has that awkward, inaccurate semi-sidearm delivery that he has to throw as hard as he can to get it 15 yards on a line. This should not be news to anyone who watches the Bills regularly. Anyone who thinks Fitz has or ever had a remote chance of being a franchise QB is delusional in my opinion. He is what he is, a very durable, very smart, very good backup QB. Although looking only at his contract I can see how one might think otherwise.
  4. Looking at the remaining schedule I don't see any comfortable wins unless Gailey can pull a rabbit out of his hat. But if that was coming I think we would have seen it against the Fish.
  5. And the rub it in by mopping up with JP. Nice.
  6. Thats only because Miami is just running out the clock.
  7. The NFL and the media hates the Bills
  8. I should have been more specific ... the Good Ole Boys rebuilding process.
  9. Losing Freddy or Fitz would be worse. Imagine if you will, the Bills offense run by Thigpen and/or Smith with Spiller as the featured back. That my friend is an offense that would be competing with the Colts in the Luck sweepstakes.
  10. The Bills are in the early stages of what is, in the best case, a lengthy rebuilding process. No amount of sideline animation or "fire" can change that fact. I understand how the great start the team had coupled with [finally] beating the cheaters could cause the more emotional Bills fans to get caught up in playoff talk. But the reality is that playoffs are more than likely at least a couple years away ... if all goes well.
  11. Then what does?
  12. Your assumption is that the rest of the league, or at least one team, thinks Johnson is a top tier receiver. I think that assumption is false. I'm not saying cut him, but pay him fair market value for what he is, a solid #2 receiver. No need to overpay for a #2 WR when there are a lot of needs on the team still to spend money on. Rightly or wrongly they gave Fitz a big contract. Maybe a bit too big in my opinion. But you cannot pay 2nd tier players 1st tier money and expect to build a competitive team IMO.
  13. "Rooting" for mediocrity does not make sense, I agree. But either does expecting that more than 10 years of bad drafts and acquisitions is going to be turned around by 1 good draft.
  14. Exactly. I never expected them to go 5-2 in the first place so like I said at the start of the season, if they go 8-8 I consider this rebuilding season a success. I'm not at all convinced they will get there however.
  15. I follow international soccer (not the MLS crap) and hockey. As far as tackle football goes it is the Bills and only the Bills. I get bored before the end of the first quarter if it isn't a Bills game.
  16. Agreed. That Jets first half was unbearable.
  17. Or ... just play against teams with inferior defenses.
  18. Well said.
  19. Amen brother, amen. Even my young sons let out a "wow!" when they had her on TV.
  20. I don't know. Look at Fitz's contract. I would not rule out ridiculous for Johnson at this point.
  21. It sure seems like any betting person who believes the Bills just had 2 bad games and the problem is not systemic would bet the farm on Bills +3 this weekend. Not me mind you, but someone
  22. It just seems odd that vegas would feel the need to coax people into betting on the 5-4 Bills against the 2-7 fish.
  23. A ball = great guy. His girlfriend = God
