How big of a concern is the Safety position?
boyst replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's not the Achilles heel of the defense because we have bigger more important issues, perhaps in order: 1) LB 2) CB 3t) depth across the board 3t) safety McDermott struggled to adjust the defense with injuries last year, I have to believe this is going to remain an issue in 2024. Dorian Williams really has to step up. CB is hoping Douglas maintains a starting form, Bendord can play 93.7% of the season, Elam makes a jump in year 3, Jamarcus Ingram can be the #2 if needed. One injury away from being *****. DT, DE, Nickel, we don't have depth. Nickel is hard to have depth, sure. But this defense relies heavily on it and a special instinctive one at that. Rousseau is a legit starter, AJE can play, Miller is toast. Jones is beat up, Oliver is damn good; beyond those two we have nothing to get to the QB. This will be a great year for McDermott to prove something. His scheme will be pinned upon someone else, however. Regardless, can he and this team cover up enough blemishes on defense? What's equally depressing is nothing was done on offense to raise the bar, either. -
100%. It's a cool concept for a team of veterans who have shown their worth and been gilded by a forge already. It's another thing to simply fall back upon what the team wants as a vote. It's not a democracy. The head coach must reign supreme and the positional coaches must be held accountable. Brady cool guying the OC position at a young age is going to be difficult when he has to put people's feet to the fire. Especially since McClappy doesn't. This is going to be a long season.

Anything you find in a tourist brochure or any online spots will be full of others. Talk to locals for what's worth doing. Going a an hour or so outside of the main cities is worth it. Mokoliʻi, for example is off the beaten path and a fun visit via kayak or other means. Locals have a reputation there for being anti tourists and crime is rampant. Had car broken into 3 times over 4 days there. Popped the lock out of a rental. Pain in the ass.

This is pretty much wrong. Reported crime is up but also being reclassified. Violent crime is overlooked, unreported, relabeled, etc. this combined with less policing has allowed crime to go up and violence isn't always there. The smash and grab robberies, the break-ins and larcenies, the muggings and such: all time highs. My gym is a pretty small lot, maybe 14 cars and large bay doors overlooking it, with nothing but Meatheads always there. Yet, every 3-4 months someone comes in and busts our windows to steal anything they can. No one confronts them so no violent crime. The second someone does they'll be shot or assaulted. I spoke to many leo in the area and they just give up on stuff like that saying it's rolling groups that just go up and down areas attacking specialized places. This group is known and a gang related group that also is involved in smash and grab high volume store thefts. They go in and get your cards, etc... nothing else. Order anything they can to the limit and pay immediate shipment to a drop house they know (usually abandoned or a patsy). The cops say it's pointless to do anything. As long as they don't hurt anyone no one cares. They blame the people leaving items locked in their cars. My solution is simple. Claymore to the door handle or a 12 gauge. Not as clean but a lot cheaper. -
The NIL killed most all interest in NCAA for me. I don't follow it anymore. Yes. Federal law that college and high school get Friday and Saturday games between two dates. It was since the merger and I think part of the compromise to allow them to merge being a monopoly.

In this case it is hard to obtain a gun in that jurisdiction. -
The NFL doesn't want to step on the NCAA's feet. They're already pissing on the laws by having Friday night games this season. There is literally a law stopping the NFL from playing on Fridays and Saturdays during high schoolm and college seasons.

If they have a gun and you do not have a gun, yes. And id bet since It is San Francisco so he didn't have a gun, only the criminal did. -

So, if I agree with the takes you disagree with I suck to be around at hammers? That's silly. The board has always had this kind of discussion; in fact it was much less moderated with self moderation in the past. I think many things different than you. And vice versa. The world isn't black and white. I'm sorry we suck and you're better than us. -

if you're prime and a TBD member you may need to raise attention that you've pre registered or you'll be caught in a line and likely turned away. jack and i were almost turned away last year getting to the lot at like 7:30. the line in was a standstill and the lot was closed. we drove around others and were let in, of course... but being there early and making sure you talk to the right folks is important. 1 prime please if you're prime and a TBD member you may need to raise attention that you've pre registered or you'll be caught in a line and likely turned away. jack and i were almost turned away last year getting to the lot at like 7:30. the line in was a standstill and the lot was closed. we drove around others and were let in, of course... but being there early and making sure you talk to the right folks is important. 1 prime please

i really like him, wish we had him.

He's an NFL coach. He is likely working the job 60-70 hours a week. That's usually the minimum if you're not named a Ryan.
-
He's fifty plus and maybe spends 3-4 hours a week exercising. That ain't enough.

So, you think one thing. And I think another. From mid 80's to late 90's Iowa, Ohio, PA, and California were the top wrestling states. Once in a while Nebraska would come up, or others. Without stats right in front of me I know that in my era we had 3 guys go on to win national championships in college. Now, yes. They're quit good. The only PA wrestler I ever faced was @CountryCletus. I dropped him on a tree root in a toss. Gugny and fergy were there I'm pretty sure.
-
Pennsylvania is top 5 in wrestling, also What always confused me was NJ being a top tier state for wrestling as small as it was. We had a guy 4th in the state of Michigan move to our town. Couldn't beat the average JV guy at his weight class. As a freshman wrestler I beat Florida's 5th place rising senior in Iowa at a camp tournament. Anything north or west of Pittsburgh is ok by me.
-
Lol and you're underestimating me. I am 10+ years younger, probably 30+ heavier, a former very good wrestler, division 1 decathlete (until I quit burned out),and in damn good shape. I am 100% confident I would defeAt him Edit: I wrestled in the state of Ohio where JV wrestlers beat other state podium wrestlers

But who is going to throw him the ball?
