  1. I love your sentiment but also love your avatar........ And Issac as your Bartender
  2. do you think its people in the wrong places as Chan has been quoted as saying? I have hope and believe in Bruce. I thought he was unfairly fired after the music city bullsh#t. I don't see Chan being stingy with players and giving DeHaven the ones he wants/needs. Oddly enough Blake Costanzo is a ST monster with Cleveland. We let him go. Maybe he'd have no use to us as an LB I don't know. I just saw a piece on him and remember him from 09.........
  3. If you read enough like I believe most people on the board do, you'll find most of these national guys don't know sh%t about the Bills. I think we need a lot of work and certainly could use some players but these guys don't know the nuances of the team nor do they bother to take the time to research them. They speak in broad general terms that almost anyone with a cursory knowledge of the league could make..........
  4. Great article. Sounds like the players that are chosen are very lucky as they will be set up well for life after football
  5. I used to have the Ticket years ago. The apt I live in now I'm not sure if I could get a dish even if I wanted to. It would be more cost effective for me to get it and stay home on sundays however, I go to a bar in NJ with a bunch of other fans and its a lot of fun. It certainly takes the sting out of some of the maddening things the Bills do on gameday. Watching at home I just tend to get really mad. However, I like PTR's idea. It would be worth it to subscribe for a month if I cant make it to the bar one week. You figure all our games are at one so you watch later in the afternoon.....
  6. The Bills may suck but I'll say this: Ditka may have won a SB but hes the jackass that traded away all his draft picks for Ricky Williams and appeared in a "wedding pic" with him. Keyshawn? Wtf did he do? He was good but never great. Carter? Ex Drug addict that got his sh*t together but even on that "great" Vikes offense that year never won a SB. Please. Like I said, we may suck but those clowns arent all three time SB winners with the greatest untarnished credentials..........
  7. If/when a new CBA is reached if theres a rookie cap as is proposed we wouldnt have to pay this QB $50+ million which would be a damn good thing. I'm not speculating on our season or that we'd even draft a QB with one of the top picks. In fact seeing the way they drafted last year it wouldnt surprise me if they didnt draft a QB with a top five pick....... Just thought I'd mention the benefit of the rookie cap if we should end up with a top five pick...........sorry if it was mentioned previously and I didnt see it
  8. My girlfriends Parents live right around the corner from Phil Simms. He must be pissed!
  9. Thanks didnt know he was from Chicago or played in a Tampa 2
  10. He was their starting NT last year after the starter got hurt. Any chance Buddy tries to sign him perhaps having some connection to him from his SD days? Not sure if he's any good. Just a thought for depth if nothing else.... Sorry if this was already posted
  11. BEER! My tastes vary. My favorites are harp and McSorleys. I used to drink Guinness till the first time I went to Ireland and discovered what it really is supposed to taste like. I like Bass and New Castle too. I drink LaBatts on game day. Currently I'm having a Corona. I can deal with domestic swill except budweiser. I think of all the times I've ever thrown up from drinking (which is not all that many) Bud was responsible 95% of the time. And yes I know Mcsorleys is domestic I just don't consider it swill.....obviously I like Amstel...........pretty much any beer will do!
  12. Wow! I'm not a workout warrior anymore not since college however, hearing that guys hadn't done squats since college is troubling. Its a pretty basic exercise that does a lot. I know there's probably a hundred other ways to work the same muscles however it doesn't sound like the Bills were employing those exercises. I remember when the Bills were cutting edge under Rusty drinking pedialyte in the week leading up to their away game at Miami in the heat......
  13. I just read on PFT the Bills are one of 5 teams opposed to the idea of the 2014 SB being played here in Jersey. I probably live closer to giants stadium than anyone else on this board. I live exactly 3 miles from it. I don't know why Ralph would be against it. Perhaps cause he knows Buffalo would never be selected to host a SB. However, I think it would be great for a SB to be played in the elements. Why not? Its the game of football- rain, snow, heat and whatever else nature throws at us. Its another potential obstacle that teams should need to perservere through. I in most likely won't be living this close to the stadium then but I'll be in the same County I'm sure and it will be a complete pain in the ass for me and my wife that week traffic wise I can tell you. However, I think it would set a great precedent. I also can't say I mind they're actually mentioning Jersey and not just calling it New York. I'd be just as for it if it were Denver or Foxboro. I think the game should be played in the elements. BTW the only way I'd attend the NJ/NY SB would be if the planets aligned and the Bills were playing in it.....
  14. I was there last night too. I wish I could give you guys a report but I tried not to talk football with them out of courtesy (I'm sure they get it nonstop). Trent was really nice. I'm 6'0 and he towered over me. I did mention to him that I felt bad the deck was stacked against him last year w/the oc and LT changes at the last minute. Andy was awesome. I bs'd with him for a while talked about subjects all over the map. I actually tried hooking him up w/ a cougar that expressed interest in him. All the guys were nice and seemed humble- no one had an attitude. They were all nice to my Girlfriend too even when she pushed her way into a photo they were taking of just the guys.....
  15. Cushing went to the same HS I went to and I also played football for them. He's much younger than me. That said, I think its a joke and sends the wrong message. Florio at PFT said he should've not accepted the title after the revote and I agree........
  16. Doubt Rothlisbergers people could block the bathroom there. It's right in the middle of the place. You can make fun of who will be there but at least they recognize the place. Matt Kabel and Matt Soreco were the pioneers that started this. We got kicked out of Brother Jimmys back in 2001 and had our draft party at another place then Matt and Matt got McFaddens for us. 2002 was the inaugural season at McFadden's. There were a bunch of people. It got huge to the point where I stopped going due to the fact that it was Too crowded- I mean 400 plus people packed in the place. Every Buffalo "transplant" is there as well as all Buffalo native college students. They only show the Bills games on ALL TV's on Sundays and have amazing drink/wing specials. They even got the sauce in from Buffalo for the wings and have/had Sahlens hot dogs....... That said I'm part of the NNJ Backers and live in Jersey........but was once one of the NYC guys there every Sunday
  17. I don't think a second is a bad deal. If Nix and Co. think he's got talent and they can keep him motivated or whatever (who knows maybe he'll have a chip on his shoulder due to being replaced then traded) then why not? If their plan is to draft a franchise QB next year why not solidify LT now and try and get the starting five a season together before throwing a rookie in there or Levi Brown at QB? Not to mention it could only help Spiller..... He can't be that bad the Ravens dominated the Pats in that playoff game.....
  18. I'd love to see them add Gaither but wouldnt be upset if we got Adams. If nothing else he's a veteran presence and perhaps Bell and Wang can learn from him..... He knows what its like to win and maybe able to bring some of that attitude and leadership to the lockeroom..... as far as paying or over paying, if Ralphs willing to cut the check who cares, its an uncapped year.... as long as year two of the contract isnt ridiculous if/when the cap returns......
  19. I'm not down on the draft at all. I trust Nix knows what he's doing. I wasn't aware that we were moving to a zone blocking scheme and like you was thinking maybe they might get more out of the group this year with the new scheme
  20. Nawrocki at PFW mentioned in his draft analysis that Gailey is implementing a Zone Blocking scheme. This may have been mentioned before (if so I apologize) however, I must have missed it. I don't know that much about Zone blocking other than Denver uses/used it and made a bunch of their RB's including unknown guys into 1,000 yd rushers. Is it easier for O Linemen? Do they not have to hold blocks as long etc? Just curious as to whether this played into the Nix/Gailey thinking they can get by with the guys they have.... Thank you in advance for your responses/answers!
  21. I believe he was a pick of the Ravens and the Pats signed him to a large FA contract. That said, I agree and hope they blow some high picks and some more FA signings......
  22. Although there were needs that needed to be addressed I have to admit I can't argue with them taking the best rated player on their board at that point. I also agree that the guy is solid off the field and seems to have maturity which is great. Bulaga fell to number 23 and Clausen didn't even go in the first round....
  23. I was just watching the top draft classes of all time on NFLN and they had the Bills class of 85 as number 9. They start off talking about Bledsoe becoming ill and the team being in turmoil and Polian comes out of nowhere...... Specifically they mentioned Bruce, Frank Reich and Andre..... said it was the "catapult" to their AFC dominance..... I know I'm hoping for too much but I hope somehow Buddy comes up with something similar this year.... I think about that draft where the Chargers got LT and Brees in the same draft......I know Buddy wasn't pulling the trigger then and who knows how much he had to do with that draft but if we could do the same with an LT/QB instead of RB/QB somehow that would be amazing..... Just trying to be hopeful even though like the rest of you I've become cynical and jaded based on the last ten years....
