  1. Yeah, but go to game four in Toronto and it's even more of a snoozefest. Even the backups don't show up! Just some maintenance guys working on the field getting it ready for the next lacrosse game or whatever...
  2. Brady was the #3. Damon Huard was the #2. The '99 49ers were down to their #3 QB Jeff Garcia, but you're right, they sucked that year. I got that one confused with their '02 season. The '02 Eagles went to Koy Detmer after McNabb went down, but Detmer got hurt too and AJ Feeley came in and won a bunch of games as the #3. The only other time I could think of was '05 when Marc Bulger went down, then Jamie Martin came in, got hurt/sucked, and Ryan Fitzpatrick came in and lit it up that game for like 400 yards in his first NFL appearance. Too bad he threw 8 INT's over the next three starts and the Rams went something like 4-12. Oh, how about Steamin' Willie Beamin? He was a #3. So, two out of three I guess. Plus one fictional.
  3. You think teams that passed on him six or seven times during the draft want to snatch him up now? Has he shown something that I haven't caught? There are a dozen other projects out there just as good or better than Levi Brown, sorry. Besides, most teams that want a project QB have one, or don't have the room/need for one. Can you name me one team that might be interested in signing him to their 53-man roster? Washington might, but they cut their project (Brennan) in lieu of another project (Beck). Oakland? They have 4 QB's at the moment. Should the #3 be purely developmental? In a perfect situation, certainly. But I think we're on the opposite end of a perfect situation at QB. Besides, to say that our #3 might not play much I think isn't true; if there's any team this season that will look to it's #3 it's us. It's just the result of not having an established #1. Hell, people on this board can't come to a consensus on who should be the #1, the #2, and the #3. Who's got the most upside? Probably Brohm. Who leads us to the most wins? Probably Fitz. Who's had the most flashes of brightness as a starter in this league? Probably Edwards. With all that being said, whomever starts, is he the right man? If it's Edwards, does he survive? Does Brohm survive mentally? Does Fitz belong on this team, since one play is perfect and the next is obscenely bad? I don't know. But I think to state that our #3 won't play much is wildly optimistic about the other QB's on the squad, especially when we're still not sure who will be our starting QB week 1.
  4. You think Levi Brown is commanding a high trade value at the moment? I'm not saying get rid of the guy necessarily. But the PS seems the logical destination for him. If someone grabs him, so be it. It doesn't mean you hold a roster spot for him if he's genuinely not ready to play in an NFL game. He has looked bad against scrubs. Against starters he'd be destroyed.
  5. This. Except I disagree on the Indy part. Everyone that's come in for Manning has looked terrible, especially since Sorgi left. But take your examples a step further and the point is further exemplified: look what happened to Leftwich in Tampa or Cassel in KC. Often times it's just about the system. That's why in my heart, I believe that if Brady had gone elsewhere he'd have been no better than a solid QB. Manning, on the other hand, was destined for greatness, no matter where he landed. Just my opinion, though. Tell that to the '01 Patriots. Or the '99 49ers. Or the '02 Eagles.
  6. Yeah, but that's not really what the guy was saying. Has Levi Brown shown us something that I'm not aware of?
  7. Sanchez and Stafford has basically identical years last year. How can you say one is okay but the other is overrated??
  8. Does anybody remember the Cardinals/Bears game from four years ago? Leinart was spectacular that game. I thought for sure he was going to be an all-pro after that game. It was only his second career starts against one of the best defenses in the league he went 24-for-42 for 232 yards, 2 TD's, and no INT's. He finished the season with 11 TD's, 12 INT's, and over 2,500 yards passing. With such a promising start, how did he get to where he's being replaced by...Derek Anderson??
  9. What qualifications do you need to write for B/R? A third grade education?? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/41763-brian-brohm-inks-deal-packers-reap-benefits (That's how it's done, Beerball. Might want to take some notes.)
  10. Great stuff, thanks for posting. Agree 100%. I wish the best for Colt McCoy. The better he does, the less likely Cleveland picks a QB in the first round next year. So we should hold onto every 7th round draft pick/undrafted free agent because he might turn into Kurt Warner or Tom Brady? Yeah, that makes so much sense. Better hold on to Levi then...he's looking more and more like Kurt Warner every day.
  11. I dunno SJBF, looks like he's got you on this one...
  12. A one-year wonder? That implies he played well last season. 12/20 does not constitute a one-year wonder.
  13. This. Not so fast. Remember a guy named Bethel Johnson?
  14. Assuming Revis comes back, it all depends on Sanchez's performance. He can't go 12/20 and expect the same outcome. If he goes 20/12 for 3,500 yards they are a super bowl team. All the other pieces are in place. It's also interesting to see how the LG position plays out. They were high on Ducasse playing the position but apparently he's not definitely starting there.
  15. This. Trade him if you can. Not really. That's why you have coaches/scouts, and this is how you get ahead. Trade a known commodity and make way for an unknown commodity, while bolstering up weaker parts of your team. Why not? I would like to trade Freddy, at his age, but his trade value couldn't be that high. Also, RB's are much easier to find than OT's, so the thought of going in to a game with Bell as the #2 or #3 back doesn't scare me. What I don't want to do it end up with what we had a few years ago when we went into a home game against Philly with Ken Simonton as the #1. That's when you've got problems.
  16. I think being locked in a cellar for eleven months a year watching coaches film on every college player in the country makes you more qualified than the posters on this board. You'll have to forgive me if I disagree with the popular "Kiper/McShay sucks" attitude on this one.
  17. I usually hate the idea of bringing in cast-offs, but have you seen our linebacking corps? It's pathetic. Sullivan outlines it pretty well: http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/columns/jerry-sullivan/article171434.ece. He's 30 years old and can play a position we're sorely lacking at. Why not bring him in? It's not like he's going to stunt the development of Arthur Moats or something. Could he be any slower than Pozluzny even at 30?
  18. Thanks for the insight, Astrobot. It's reports like these that make this site worth visiting.
  19. Call me whatever you want, I stick by it. Let's take the Buffalo/Cleveland game, for instance. There are two tickets in the Rockpile for $20 apiece. So I go to them. http://www.stubhub.com/buffalo-bills-tickets/bills-vs-browns-957353/?ticket_id=252053775 I am forced to have them shipped at a minimum of 2-day delivery for $11.95. Then, they won't even tell you how much their fees are until you've put in your credit card information and are set to confirm the order. Then I'm getting hit with another 10% "service charge," and the seller is getting hit with a 15% service charge on this same order. So the total charges on two $20 tickets comes to nearly $60. Then, to make things even better, when the tickets arrive a day late after forcing you to send it via expedited shipping, they offer you no resolution (this is from personal experience). Almost as bad as ticketmaster. Yeah, call me negative for hating to get ripped off. Of course, I've never been able to get the tickets e-mailed - if that was the case then it certainly would be much better. And yes, I have some hot cousins. Want their phone numbers?
  20. Stubhub is horrible. You get to the end of your order and BAM! they hit you with a whole set of new fees. They compound the problem by requiring minimum two-day delivery and marking it up (or else you can pick it up for another fee - why a fee to pick up tickets??). To top it all off, their customer service is terrible too. Craigslist and eBay work just fine for selling tickets - craigslist is free while eBay fees are minimal, especially for ticket sales.
  21. And the inferiority complex continues to grow...
  22. You're not seriously suggesting we offer a 4th round draft pick AND an NFL-caliber RB for an undrafted rookie QB...right?
