  1. I guess the difference is, the people that really love the draft don't consider it a "waste." I used to look forward to draft weekend. Thanks for ruining it for the sake of mildly better ratings, Rog. I'm sure people that weren't watching it before are just huddling around the television on Thursday and Friday nights, waiting for some team they don't follow to pick a guy they've never heard of. !@#$.
  2. I'm not on a !@#$ing ledge, !@#$. But I'm sick of the NFL and all their new 'innovative' bull ****. The draft weekend was perfect, then they moved it to Saturday night/Sunday all day. Then the next year they moved it to this bull **** format. It sucks! They still play games all over the !@#$ing earth. We played a game in Mexico, we play a game every year in England, and then they float rumors about playing the Super Bowl in England? I've had enough of Roger Goddell and him doing every single thing he can just to squeeze the rock on ratings and exposure. The NFL is an enormously successful business, don't forget what got you there, Rog. Keep this format, and I'm done with the draft. It's just not as fun. I'll read up about it when it's all over.
  3. It's !@#$ing horrible. Draft weekend used to be for the die-hards, now it's this bull **** piecemeal primetime ****. I loved the old format. I didn't even have time to get drunk last night before it ended. If this is the new format, I'm done watching the draft. You suck Roger Goddell.
  4. McGee hasn't been a kick returner since 2007. He's done with that part of his repertoire. Parrish isn't a very good kick returner. But did you really draft Spiller at #9 overall to return kicks?
  5. God I hope not. We have a plethora of young, unproven talent at the WR position and really need to address the offensive and defensive line before there's a serious drop-off in talent.
  6. hahaha, wowww, digging into the kool-aid a little early this morning?? I'd bet anything Edwards starts the season at QB, barring a trade for an established QB like Jason Campell.
  7. I don't think that's what he means. I think he means Freddy either gets cut or relegated to spot duty in 2011. Interesting thought, actually. He'll be 30 next year, and RB's don't last long into the 30's. But I doubt Lynch re-signs in 2012, when his contract is up, so it's pretty likely that we'll be looking at picking up another RB around that time.
  8. There's a difference between being "a difference maker" (which he will be) and putting us in the playoffs (which he won't). ...when they are no longer warranted.
  9. That's why we drafted Lynch 12th overall three years ago. Yet we continue to spin our wheels. I guess Prisco got this right 'cause he agrees with you. You should let those other guys know they're wrong for the same reason. Does anybody remember the cluster!@#$ it was having McGahee and Henry on the same team in 2004? Now we've got Jackson, Lynch, and Spiller. Super. Nobody's saying having "a little excitement" is a problem. But it comes at the price of upgrading areas of our team that need to be addressed, including OT, NT, OLB, and QB. I'm fine with letting OT and QB go until the later rounds, but why not upgrade OLB? I was liking our depth at ILB (Poz, Mitchell, Davis), but now Mitchell likely moves to the outside and Maybin gets to show what he's made of. This is all assuming we address OT and NT tomorrow night, of course, which we need to do. But couldn't we have grabbed Dexter McCluster in the third as our scatback?
  10. That's the worst logic I've ever heard on this board. Congratulations. That's quite a feat. I really don't want to engage you since your logic has been flawed in the past and is certainly so now, but you need to stop spreading your idiocy, it may be contagious: We lost ten games last year. We were blown out in five of those. Not sure which seven games you're talking about. The five games we lost by seven or less were to New England (twice), NYJ, Cleveland, and Jacksonville. Do you really think we beat New England either time because of a rookie running back? Or is it his skills in the return game that get us those crucial wins? Did you ever think that other teams got better while we sat on our hands as a franchise? How do we "duplicate" our team next year (whatever that means) when teams all around us are getting better, losing our best WR?
  11. Not everyone agrees. Fanhouse gives us a D+, gives Denver an A-. http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/04/23/2010-nf...round-1/?synd=1 Ditto for these guys: http://neoonion.com/nfl-draft-2010-grades-...sults/53438.htm
  12. How the !@#$ is Spiller going to give us four more wins exactly???
  13. Pass on Clausen, don't care how far he's fallen. Pass on Campbell, don't need the black Tony Mandarich on the team. Pass on Thomas at 41. No need to reach. Take Saffold if he's available. Charles Brown, otherwise. Cody as a third result. If either Saffold or Brown are taken at any point between 33 and 40, consider moving up to take the other. The drop-off after these two is significant.
  14. Forget Clausen. Take Saffold or Brown at 41. Hope for Thomas or Joseph in the 3rd, grab Lefevour in the 4th if he's still available.
  15. I don't think people understand what "grooming" means. It doesn't mean you teach a guy to play the position. It means a guy that has the skills already comes in and adapts to the speed of the game and learns the system. "Don't fall in love with the player, fall in love with the tape." Too many people have fallen in love with Tebow's personality. It just doesn't translate to being NFL-capable.
  16. FWIW, from ESPN Insider: Trading partners for No. 12 pick (talking about the Dolphins, of course, but the same logic still applies here) * 18. Pittsburgh Steelers: If Jimmy Clausen falls to No. 12, it might be too much to pass up. * 20. Houston Texans: Might want to move up to grab Joe Haden if he's still there. * 22. New England Patriots: This is based largely upon their cache of picks (including three second-rounders). Any other season, an intra-division trade wouldn't happen. This year? All bets are off. * 23. Green Bay Packers: Mentioned by ESPN Insider Adam Schefter as a team looking to move up. * 24. Philadelphia Eagles: They want to grab one of the elite safeties, and have lots of trade ammo, including two second-rounders. * 27. Dallas Cowboys: Do the 'Boys need to move up this badly? Probably not, but we're still waiting for Jerry Jones to make his first offseason splash. * 28. San Diego Chargers: This depends on how badly they feel that they want Dan Williams and/or C.J. Spiller.
  17. Kiper just said he expects Saffold to be taken mid-20's. Indy might not get the chance. Both Kiper and McShay have six tackles going in the first, for what it's worth.
  18. Is anyone watching ESPN right now? They just put up Kiper's and McShay's top ten mock draft picks. McShay had Bulaga going #5...and #9. Well done, ESPN, well done.
  19. But what are the chances he's available at #24?
  20. Yeah, because someone rooting for Spiller on this board is obvious sarcasm...
  21. Intangibles don't mean **** if you don't have the tangible skills to play the position.
  22. Why did you start another thread for this???
  23. On the NFL Network, Jim Mora Jr. was the only one who said he was a first round pick, but he couldn't even justify it. He began to stammer, and said "there's just something about this kid." I'm sorry, but you have to do better than that to be drafted #9 overall. I think Jamie Dukes said he wouldn't take him in the first three rounds.
