  1. At absolute worst we go 3-13. At absolute best we go 4-2 in the division and go 10-6 somehow, beating KC, Jax, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, and maybe a Cincy or a P.Williams/Favre-less Minny. 5-11/6-10 seems most likely.
  2. We won't have the top pick. There are some really, really bad teams out there. St. Louis, Detroit, KC, Tampa come to mind. Seattle might have had a great draft but that won't all come together this year, and their veterans are really old. Oakland won't miraculously go 11-5 with Jason Campbell. Jacksonville didn't improve it's team. Carolina's success depends on Matt Moore, so that's a coin flip at this point. Same with Arizona and Leinart. If Cutler doesn't get it together the Bears still suck. We won't get out of the top ten, but we won't draft #1. Somewhere between 3-9 is my guess. This is all moot since we probably have a lockout in 2011. Although there would still be a draft I suppose...
  3. Where did the other half of his sacks come from? Where did Maybin's sacks come from??
  4. Leave it to a national sports writer to be the one to show some sense on this board...
  5. Anything's possible. It's just pretty unlikely. How many 2nd round draft pick QB's get cut their rookie year? He's shown nothing at this level to suggest he can play, much less play well. 1) Where did you get that idea? It's just untrue. 2) Is Trent's 'immobility' really his problem? You have to use something. It may be preseason but it's still against NFL talent. It's certainly better than judging him against college-level talent. If he performs poorly against second and third stringers, how exactly is he going to be the savior of this franchise? You might want to skip the 2010 season then... He looked terrible against Atlanta. What game were you watching? Oh good. You're back. Your hate for Edwards is irrational and your criticism is unfounded: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlig...-vs-Ravens-2007 So he's a kitty? Just making sure. Hadn't heard you say it in the last few minutes... Will you be around speaking his praises when Brohm gets cut at the end of the year (or sooner)?
  6. Aaron Maybin's long-term future is not in this league. My guess is someone will take a flier on him when we cut him following the 2012 season, realize that he's no good, and cut him before camp. Then he can tweet all he wants.
  7. Just once I'd like to see you make a point without referencing profootballfocus.com. Just once. I understand Gaither is a better tackle at this point in his career than Adams. I understand that he had a better year last year than Adams. I also understand Adams took a lot of penalties, even more so than usual. Believe it or not, I understand the age difference as well. Those weren't the questions though. The question is compensation. Flozell can be brought in for a year or two to bridge the gap at a very reasonable price. Gaither will require a 2nd round draft pick and command an $8-10M/year salary while having a questionable work either. I don't need to bring Jason Peters into the conversation to tell you what a problem that poses. Also, it's not like we don't have a plethora of young talent waiting to take over in 2011. Gaither is unnecessary at this point. I fully expect Bell/Meredith/Wang to be ready to man the left side in 2011.
  8. Bills to add more OL help? 11:38AM ET Buffalo Bills Top Email Prior to the draft, it was expected that the Buffalo Bills would emerge from the three-day extravaganza (if not the first night) with an offensive tackle to plug in to their lineup. Instead, they'll venture forth into the 2010 preseason with the same problem they had at the close of the 2009 season. But there's a good chance that they're not yet done looking. For starters, they might take a look at veteran free agent Flozell Adams. Adams was one of the most-penalized linemen in the NFL, but he would be an upgrade from a skills standpoint. It's also possible that they re-examine trade discussions with the Baltimore Ravens for Jared Gaither. The draft came and went with Gaither still a member of the Ravens' team, but the Bills did investigate him a bit, per Pro Football Talk. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter brings up a key point in why Buffalo might have a difficult time attracting veteran free agents: Adam Schefter Re-building Bills are a tough sell "If you're a veteran, and you've got one more chance at winning a Super Bowl, is Buffalo your choice? There aren't many worthy veteran offensive linemen out there. To find one willing to spend his last season with the Bills makes it even more challenging."
  9. I forgot about Jenkins. And yeah, I don't have much faith in Jackson, but I'll give him a better shot than some UDFA from UB. I don't know how Chris Kelsay has made the team the last three years. But he keeps coming back.
  10. Maybe it's just that we have plenty of developmental prospects at OT? If we have one more roster spot it would likely go to a veteran to man the LT position for a year until one of the prospects pans out.
  11. Fortunately, unlike the people on this board, Gailey doesn't give a **** that he went to UB. There's no way he makes the team. He said he preferred bigger WR's to smaller ones on the outside. He didn't say he had no use whatsoever for smaller WR's. Parrish stays, unless Easley beats him out and they cut the roster to five WR's.
  12. No. I highly doubt Chan carries 6 WR's again. It'll be Evans, Parrish, Johnson, Hardy, Jackson, and Easley competing for the five spots. Welcome Drew Haddad II. See you next year.
  13. by contrast: 2009 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc. Grade: 74 | Key Comment: Gaither is a young, ascending player and the Ravens' starting left tackle. He has tremendous size, particularly with his extreme height and overall length, to man the blind side. However, there are times when his high center of gravity is used against Gaither. Gaither remains a work in progress but is a punishing finisher in Baltimore's power blocking scheme. As he gains experience, his hand placement and understanding of his opponent will improve. So people here advocate a 2nd round pick for Gaither who will demand $8-10M/year, instead of signing Flozell for a year or two and letting Bell/Meredith/Wang develop behind him even though Flozell is rated just under Gaither? Bizarre. Find a link on what? It was on the NFL Network ten minutes ago. Want me to setup a webcam for you?
  14. Haven't you read his other forty-plus posts about it? Don't burst the kid's bubble. He's really intent on getting Gaither here...somehow. Even if he's never watched him play.
  15. 2009 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc. Grade: 71 | Key Comment: Adams has a massive body with above-average athleticism and natural power. He's not an explosive blocker off the line of scrimmage, but can lock on and smother defenders with his length and strength. Adams has been notorious for holding calls and illegal procedure penalties and tends to guess as an edge blocker versus top defenders. He is best when he can engage his opponent early in the play and use his size to wall off defenders. He doesn't have great lateral agility to react effectively versus quick counter moves and isn't great on the second level. Adams has been playing with diminishing skills over the past few seasons and would likely be more effective at right tackle.
  16. Buffalo, Chicago in the Flozell Adams "sweepstakes" per NFL Network just a minute ago. Don't shoot the messenger. Please delete if already posted.
  17. There's no sense trading for a guy who is going to demand top dollar next year if he isn't worth it. And what's with offering up a young, talented, highly-touted corner in McKelvin for him? I don't understand some people. Face it. We should have drafted Charles Brown in the second round. After digesting it for a few days, I'm not pleased with the fact that we ignored the offensive line the first four rounds when there was talent out there to be had. I sure hope this Ed Wang guy is up to the task.
  18. WEO - link? Edwards will be the starter, no question. I'm not sure what he's lacking at this point, to be honest. He seems okay at the beginning of seasons, then loses it. He looked good in '08 until Arizona and even looked good vs. SD. Then he looked good last year vs. NE and TB...then, nothing. Seems like he loses his confidence too easily and we haven't really had the line or the coaching to help him out. Not saying he's the answer, but he's a lot closer to it than anyone else on this roster. A lot of you people are going to be sad when Brohm gets cut. It's unlikely we carry 4 QB's into the regular season, so unless he shows something significant (this being his third season now as a highly-touted second round draft choice), my money says he's gone.
  19. Did anybody realize this was the Ko Simpson pick?
  20. +1 Actually, much like DarthICE, nobody gives a **** what draft "grade" you deem worthy for the organization. Of course if you know a ton about this random DE from SDSU or the 7th round tackle then by all means tell us how we did. Otherwise STFU. Draft grades the day of are stupid enough when they come from the professionals. Coming from people like you they're beyond pointless. But hey, at least we didn't take that schmuck in your avatar. One bullet dodged.
  21. We have plenty of options at RT. Between Green, Meredith, and Bell someone will suffice there. LT is the concern. And you don't want Levitre as your LT.
  22. I'll take Wood and Levitre over Faneca. They're on their way up, Faneca is clearly on the decline.
  23. Mike Mayock, NFL Network Some of other non-Division IA kids are coming off the board now. Arthur Moats, a conversion prospect out of JMU, is athletic and explosive. He needs to get stronger, but he fits the Buffalo Bills' new 3-4 defense.
