if keeping fitz your starter meant NOT picking EJ in the first round of a lousy qb class, your "would we be better off" arguement improves. fitz is currently ranked 23rd in qb passer rating. not good enough. without EJ in the mix, marrone might still be the coach. you could what if this all over the place.

NO ! fitz was and still is better than EJ and Orton. fitz is not better than TT. might have been better off short term (2011 - 2014), but not long term (2015 - 2017).

everthing sammy said is true. whatever "strings" he pulled (agent spoke to whaley) is fine. going to the media with this info is where he went wrong. should have stayed in house. the only reason you go to the media is over frustration from previous multiple failed attempts to get more targets via so called pulling strings. sammy's biggest problem is that his qb's are risk adverse. once they see a hint of double coverage, they look elsewhere. doesn't seem to stop teams like ATL from consistent double digit targets of julio jones. his motive is all about his next contract and putting up the numbers to justify a huge deal.
