  1. I was just kidding around Doc. Here is my real thoughts on the OP. 1. Parrish cannot be effective on a consistent basis because of his size, at least not from the line of scrimmage anyway. Anytime a defender is allowed to put his hands on him prior to getting the ball, he is is easily controlled. The guy is electric in space and on special teams but very limited in general. 2. Lee Evan's abilities are greatly diminished by our QBs inability to make plays down the field. Whether it's the protection breaking down or weak QB play, the final results are a waste of a good WR. For whatever reason the team struggles greatly at getting him involved, sometimes over long stretches. The worst thing that happened to Lee last year was Schouman going down. I really believe that Schouman was ready to break through. The middle of the field has been a complete wasteland for years now. Defenses need to pay for bringing so many players up to our line of scrimmage and when protection is shaky, those middle routes are the cure. IMO, a defense will only get burned doing that so much and eventually everything else will go back to an even playing field. Which would be good news for Lee and the RBs. 3. CJ Spiller will make plays. This kid is the real deal and he is going to be special. The Bills are hoping to use him in a multitude of ways and I believe his versatility is going to make everyone better. I joked around about 8 in the box but Spiller has the ability to really punish a defense. I think he is the perfect weapon for a team that struggles with protection and QB play. He makes plays after the catch and his likely routes won't demand long protection and difficult throws. I have a strange feeling Spiller is going to be huge star in this league. I talked about Spiller mostly in terms of the passing game because I think the Bills might end up keeping Lynch. If so, then I think Spiller gets his touches in a number of different ways, although he better not be returning anything in special teams. Am I the only one who dislikes seeing topshelf players returning kicks? If Lynch stays I'd like to see Spiller play in the slot, just like Darth said.
  2. Jam Parrish into the dirt. Cover Evans with top corner, and don't sweat the deep route because we can't get it there anyway. I hope Spiller can out run 8 in the box.
  3. No workman's compensation? Big ticket contractor or volunteer buddy, a broken back is a broken back. Who would cover this cost or the legal fees for a lawsuit?
  4. Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick have been almost dead even in terms of NFL effectiveness. They are also one year apart in age and have almost the same game time experience. Both QBs have had to deal with an assortment of different playbooks and playing conditions. Both Trent and Ryan have appeared in at least 29 NFL games and multiple training camps. At this point, the team and fans need to temper any expectations from these guys, the upside is limited for both. IMO, they both have a place in the NFL but are backup quality players. There is no evidence too believe either one is much better than the other. I am hoping Brian Brohm or Levi Brown can do enough to win the starting position. IMO, if they are even comparable to Trent and Ryan, the youngsters should get the nod.
  5. Two-time superbowl winning QBs don't lose locker rooms. BR has managed to do just this, and it speaks volumes about who he is. I agree, the Bills don't need this guy leading them. I'm not sure the Steelers aren't better off with Dixon at this point.
  6. I suppose Steve Mcnair's partying is pretty well documented but the comparison completely ends there. In fact, everything about Mcnair beyond the partying, is the opposite of Big Ben. Mcnair was beloved both publicly and within the locker room. He was supposedly a pretty humble guy.
  7. I gotta disagree with this. What other star QB in the NFL do you honestly picture acting like this?
  8. If you knew football and knew the NFL, you would understand that there are many many ways to win. When you are narrow minded and focus on one way, you trap yourself into aquiring only certain types of players. You also do disservice to the talent on your team that doesn't fit your exact formula. The secret to this game is aquiring the best players and finding a way to deploy them effectively. The Vikings spent a first rounder on Percy Harvin last year despite having Peterson and Taylor, not too mention a whole lot of holes on defense. He flourished in that system and they found ways to utilize him. The Steelers pick LBs every year despite having arguably the best LBs in the league already. Trust me, the Steelers have alot of glaring holes this offseason. Screw the formulas and just draft the best player. After that you make your adjustments accordingly.
  9. If they were worried about selling tickets they would have taken Clausen in the first or the second. This theory is even worse than the others.
  10. A team as bad as the Bills can't walk into a draft and start ruling out positions. What if they thought the next Ronnie Lott was available? Would you suggest they pass on him because the secondary isn't a top priority? You NEVER pass on a player if you think he has the potential to be great.
  11. Great. I'm sure if the Bills thought a Probowl QB was available, he would have been drafted.
  12. Fred Jackson is a really nice player but he's no Chris Johnson or Adrian Peterson. Bills fans have forgotten what playmakers look like.
  13. Dude? What players win games all by themselves? That argument against RBs is so irrelevant.
  14. Difference makers are found at every position in the NFL. To completely write off a position as overvalued is terribly shortsighted. The biggest need on this team is difference makers, and that's at any position.
  15. I understand that argument, but I disagree. Chris Johnson changes every game he plays in and is one of the most dynamic players in the NFL. A few chuckleheads at this forum might say they prefer the 3rd best tackle in the draft over Chris Johnson but 32 NFL teams surely wouldn't.
  16. I'm guessing his quicks will translate just fine in the NFL.
  17. I eat every leftover cold. It doesn't matter what it is, I never heat up anything.
  18. Nope. You might not be a fan of the pick but Spiller's speed/acceleration is obvious.
  19. It was clearly not a shove and hardly a reason to tee off on someone. It is a joke to defend Blount's actions.
  20. I meant to say "isn't enough to overcome" but yes I am clearly a racist.
  21. We all knew you were a moron. Thanks for verifying it for the board.
  22. Blount is nothing more than a mediocre talent that has major character concerns. Sucker punching a guy for saying something to you is pathetic. Anyone who supports this behavior is awfully immature and ignorant. The truth is, Blount was taunting Boise State players all pre-game and acting as though he was going to go after them. You know the whole song and dance where somebody pretends to be going after someone else and his friends hold him back. Pathetic. A sucker punch is when you punch someone who has no clue it's coming and isn't defending themselves. Blount swung at a guy who was turning away from him and then proceeded to parade around like he was hard. The typical reaction of a punk ass clown after a sucker punch. I love the fans of this behavior who celebrate the punch like he was "teaching someone a lesson". The only lesson he taught was that he has no control of himself. ..... and yes the Boise State player went down like a ton of bricks, that typically happens when somebody blindsides you. The guy got right up and wasn't knocked out like many of you were hoping. Bottom line: Blount has been suspended a few times throughout his collegiate career and his tirade showed why. His mediocre talent isn't enough to overcome his behavior or poor work ethic.
  23. It definately matters if you get stuck paying a bust big money. By that logic, the raiders would be in the same boat if they had taken Jamarcus Russell in the second.
  24. The most boring of all serial killers. These clowns don't hold a candle to the HOF cereal killers.
