  1. Why bother? He's so ideologically imprisoned with his beliefs that he is incapable of seeing anything outside of his tiny world view. Don't get me wrong, there are others here and pretty much everywhere that live within the confines of their ideology as well, but BD's view is so dismissive and makes the most inane arguments to attempt to support his views that he ends up turning more people off than helping people see the sake's of his beliefs.
  2. Rubio, Bush, Walker, Kasich and possibly Cruz even though my suspicions are that he may be too right wing for the general electorate. It would be close between those two. I still have to see more of Fiorina, but she could be added to that list. Rand Paul, who won't get the nomination most likely would defeat Sanders as well and so would Christie, but he won't get the nomination either.
  3. People such as yourself do more harm for the causes you support than good.
  4. Sanders would beat Trump, but he'd get creamed by the top tier GOP candidates. The fact that he is a self-described socialist and some of his economic positions are too extreme and outside of the mainstream would be too much of a deterrent for him to overcome.
  5. You know, personally speaking that is my own view. Once the baby has a heartbeat my wife and I could no longer consider an abortion. But, there are many people who get pregnant and don't even know they are pregnant until months later. Politically speaking, this is not a viable alternative. I mean, I agree with you on the substance but it's an absolute nonstarter for the American public. However, as technology improves we are seeing that babies can survive outside of the womb at 22 weeks according to papers published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Grant it, it's at 25% the survival rate, but the baby deserves a chance to live. So if they can survive at 22 weeks, they most likely can survive at 20 weeks. Again, as technology improves the number of weeks where they can survive outside of the womb will only go lower. You can't win this argument with faith, it's not a winning argument with the American public. But you can win it with science. For the life of me, I don't see how any decent human being that isn't overly ideological can come to the conclusion to kill a baby that is able to survive outside of the womb, simply because the woman NOW decided after 5 months she no longer wants it. For me as of right now, that number is 20 weeks. At some point, the babies rights to survive trumps the woman's right to choose to terminate it.
  6. Sorry if I don't take the opinion of a left wing nut job seriously.
  7. It's not just a handful of states, but the states that will determine who will be the next president. She's now consistently falling behind and the trend is getting worse. What you are referring to is the popular vote, and that trend is getting worse as we speak, it will be interesting to see with all the new FBI investigations etc how those numbers will play out.
  8. Dude, she's losing against the top tier GOP candidates head to head consistently in the polls over the past month.
  9. Donald Trump backs off Planned Parenthood defunding push That was quick. A man of convictions.
  10. Well, it was suppose to be her big day. She unveiled a pretty damn big proposal and considering she has been lagging in the polls and having a horrible summer, I'm guessing she was hoping that she could change the narrative with her "big ideas". Well, the narrative changed, but not in the way she had hoped.
  11. Doesn't work that way. Look at what happened with Romney, Republican voters dislike Obama more than they dislike Hillary and many on the further end of the right spectrum didn't show up to pull the lever for Romney, because in their views he was no different than Obama (which is asinine) Enthusiasm matters in campaigns. If you have a candidate that inspires it doesn't just translate in showing up for the polls but it shows up in helping volunteer for that candidate by making phone calls, knocking on doors, contributing money etc. Also if you are fired up about a candidate you may convince your family and friends to show up, whereas if it's a choice of the lesser of two evils, you most likely just quietly go to the polls, hold your nose and cast your ballot. In regards to just me, no way I'd ever vote for Trump. I don't trust his temperament, if someone in his view disrespects him, he'd be prone to ratchet up the tensions with his actions which of course could lead to trade sanctions, freezing of cooperation between the two countries and maybe even war. Plus, he's a protectionist and protectionism is really bad for the economy. Not to mention that we would be the laughing stock of the world. The reasons are endless.
  12. Of course not, her gun is aimed at the serious candidates. As far as she's concerned, it's a dream come true seeing Trump have the spot light on the GOP side. Here is another Poll from Iowa that shows Trump up by 4.5%. Sounds good, right? His base of devoted followers/support is higher than anyone else's, but his ceiling is much lower than the top tier candidates. He simply is too unlikable not just among the general population but among GOP voters as well.
  13. The PPP poll has Trump up by 6.5% in the state of Iowa. The very same poll also shows What this reconfirms is that Trump has the most fervent supporters, those that like him are pulling the lever for him and when you have a field as large as this one with 17 candidates, he's going to take the lead. But there are are nearly twice as many people who dislike him as those that do like him, meaning that once the field begins to whittle down, he's going to get smoked. As much as I like Bush on a substantive level, I just don't believe he will be able to get a high turnout with republicans. Same goes with Trump, he can fire up the right wingers, but many of the traditional and moderate republicans won't come out to vote for him. So it's gotta be someone who can meld the two and to me there really are only two options that can do that and that is either Scott Walker or Rubio. Maybe Fiorina, but now that she spoke out against St. Trump and Mark Levin basically gave the signal to not trust her, she's gonna be seen as just another "Rhino" among the most hard core of the right.
  14. Not even Jon Huntsman can win as a GOP senate candidate in that state.
  15. It appears to me that Cassel as or right now has the inside track of being our starting QB with Tyrod as the #2. If EJ doesn't impress the coaches, my guess is that he is the odd man out. Are there any cap savings to dumping EJ?
  16. All of the GOP candidates will be accused of running the war on women and Hillary will be accused of wanting to rip babies limbs apart. It's gonna be the silly season, better get used to it.
  17. Trump much like Limbaugh has got a cult like following. Their followers take what they say as gospel. What's funny is that people say they like Trump's toughness, fact is he is a little B word that cries anytime anyone asks him a question he doesn't like and his worshipers are even bigger bitches "waaaaa, she asked an unfair question.... waaaaaaaaaa". Politics ain't beanball, if you are gonna be up the challenge you are gonna have to go against the Democratic woodchipper, and if they think big ol meanie Meghan is unfair, well booooohooooo, it's gonna get a lot tougher.
  18. I use to think that liberals were the masters of playing the victim card. They've now taken a backseat to the Trump sycophants.
  19. Even Redstate is revoking Trumps invitation to their shindig. http://www.politico.com/story/2015/08/donald-trumps-invitate-to-redstate-event-revoked-over-megyn-kelly-comments-121173.html?hp=t4_r
  20. It is an exercise in semantics futility, gotta agree with you there.
  21. I don't quite understand how TGreg doesn't understand this simple little differentiation, it's really not that difficult to understand. Of course the show isn't packaged as news, that goes without saying, the argument is that many people view it as comedy/news and that Jon Stewart is an advocate for the causes he supports as O'Reilly is an advocate for the causes he supports.
  22. That's not the argument, the argument is that many people get their news from the Daily Show. Not that the Daily show is a a news show. There is a difference. If you were to ask the average millennial where do you get your news, MSNBC or the Daily Show? What do you think they would say? Of course we know the answer to this, and it's not even close. More than twice as many millennials get their news from the Daily show than MSNBC. No matter how you slice it and dice it, the reality is that the Daily show IS where many people go to get their news, and Jon Stewart understands this. He not only knows that many people will take his comedy as news but that he is often attempting to move the needle to advance the causes he cares for.
  23. Actually perception can and in this case IS reality for many.
  24. Obama has armadillo like skin compared to Trump's.
