Talent wise, that all star team would be plenty good enough to win a championship. The only question is coaching. Personally, I think Chan at HC/OC with Schwartz at DC would get it done but I can understand the doubters. There’s no way this year’s team beats them. Maybe 1 time out of 10. You aren’t running against the all-drought front 7 from page 1 and I’m not sure which current WR is getting open with Gilmore, Clements and Winfield in coverage. On the other side, the all-drought OL would road grate the current defense with Lynch and Jackson carrying the rock. People say Bledsoe is weak and granted, he’s not nearly as good as Allen, but he’s did make the pro bowl in 2002. Plus which current CB is going to cover TO? I’m not sure there’s a franchise out there where their current team would beat an all star team of their best players for nearly two decades. The all-drought teams weren’t even that bad. That was part of the problem. There were always stuck between 6 and 8 wins.

Gotta add Gilmore at CB- Kick McGee to backup CB and KR. Also, where’s TO? That defense would be nasty. Gilmore on one side, Clements on the other with Winfield in the slot? Plus that front seven and Schwartz calling the shots? Good luck.

This roster would have the edge over the current team at every position except QB. On the defense, a significant advantage. I know everyone says Allen makes up the difference but he’s one guy. Come on. I’d love to see the current WRs try to get open vs that secondary for example.

There is such a talent disparity from those teams to now. It really shows you how much is on Josh Allen’s shoulders and it’s no surprise that the current team has never made it to the Super Bowl.

Didn’t the Bills acquire him in the middle of the week and then start him for the last preseason game so that they didn’t risk injury to any of their QBs? Throw in mostly non-NFL teammates for that last preseason game and that’s not really a fair chance for an honest evaluation, IMO.

There were only two times in my years following the Bills that I thought they had the best team in the NFL. 1990 and 2021. So the 2021 team is my choice.

The Bills can and maybe should open it up a little more. But when you’ve got a great running and short passing game, keeping the ball and trying to control the game with your offense is a good game plan; especially when your defense is mediocre.

Every time OJ got the ball, the whole stadium used to stand up waiting to see something spectacular. It’s hard to express how electrifying a presence he was, especially to a youngster like me. But having said that, I still think it’s Allen. When he escapes the pocket it’s almost the same feeling and he’s already led more team success than OJ ever did.
