  1. He double-dipped? Who does that? Who are these people?
  2. Looks like we signed a kicker from Georgia, Marshall Morgan Marshall Morgan ‏@MarshallM13 Taking my talents to Buffalo! #Bills #blessed CBS Sports lists him as the #5 kicker in draft, NFL.com did not list him among the 7 they logged.
  3. Yes, I was just responding to the poster who said the strategy was to get udfas b/c we could not afford real players, but I guess I see the logic (we can sign as many of these as they won't affect the cap).
  4. We already had the most players under contract in the league last I checked.
  5. DE Bryson Albright, Miami (OH)...he had 3 tackles and a sack against UB. Don't see any listed relation to a certain red-haired long snapper of yore. https://twitter.com/MiamiOHFootball/status/726557580844228608 I don't recall these coming in so fast in past years.
  6. Watch your back, Garrison! https://twitter.com/SnapFlow50/status/726555308953198592 (it's a long snapper from LSU)
  7. Robert Kugler, C, Purdue https://twitter.com/Kugs57/status/726550847581114368
  8. Keith Lumpkin, OT, Rutgers http://www.nj.com/rutgersfootball/index.ssf/2016/04/nfl_draft_2016_rutgers_ol_keith_lumpkin.html
  9. James Cowser put up insane numbers in the FCS. Jonathan Jones had a 4-5 grade. I'd love to see Cash and especially Fairbairn come in. FB Devon Johnson and S Kelvin Fisher (son of the Bills Director of College Scouting) are the two players who visited who didn't get drafted -- that I could find anyway. Anyone know of anyone else?
  10. QB - Jones, Hogan RB - Perkins (but just as soon no running back) WR - Cooper, Wilson...Higgins would be ok TE - meh OT - McGovern, Dahl, Murphy K - Fairbairn (would love him with latter 6th rd) DL - Billings (if he keeps dropping, why not), Cowser (crazy numbers, who knows) LB - Matekevich, Brothers, Perry DB - Cash, Kearse And Baby Gronk just to mess with the Pats I guess my realistic ideal: Cash, Murphy, Hogan, Cowser (if Pharoh Cooper is somehow available, switch him out with Cash)
  11. I'm sure he'll get picked, but if we got Billings, that would be the third player we got I've seen mocked to us in the 1st.
  12. A'Shawn looks like Isaac Hayes, circa 1989
  13. Love - Ragland, Spence, trade up for Jack if he drops out of 10, Nkimidiche (especially if he drops to later round -- his tv interviews assuage any worry), Jaylon Smith in any round 3 & on if we drafted 2 defensive players before Hate - Cook or trade up for Lynch would have me questioning my fandom (before rationalizing in a day or two) Expect - Ragland Like - Lee, Floyd, Conklin, Hargreaves (if he dropped), Apple (if they traded back), Cardale Jones if he lasts to 4th, Hogan in any round 5 or later, Cravens or Chris Jones if they fall to 2nd, Braxton Miller if he falls to 3rd, Kafusi or Mantkevitch(sic, probably) in a later round Overall, would love a trade back in 1st, trade up in 2nd, and at least 4 defensive players.
  14. Randell Johnson is also still there, but, yes, more linebackers would, um, definitely be a good thing -- a lot of intriguing options in draft.
  15. Or maybe we're trying to get the best value in a defense-heavy draft class. The only super-talented player we've lost is Mario, and he took the year off.
  16. Offensive line staying together, Rex's D plan coming together, Solid draft of ready players, Taylor and Watkins improve while gelling becoming a dynamic force, McCoy stays healthy as Karlos becomes an unstoppable change of pace, our remaining Williamses stay healthy and don't decline, one Brown returns to rookie season form or better as he learns the system, the other *journeyman" one fulfills his initial promise, Darby and Gilmore shutting things down, Dareus frees the beast, Brady suddenly ages, rest of division collapses. I'm not saying all these things will happen, just saying these are things that can happen. Football is unpredictable. Pundits, both professional and amateur like to pretend a team will finish within a, say 10-6 and 8-8 window, while in reality most teams could range from 15-1 to 1-15 if they catch lightning (or s&*() in a bottle. Who would have predicted the Panthers would be undefeated near the season's end. Fwiw, the "good" players did not exactly play "good" last year.
  17. Yeah, can understand why for ticket sales, etc. I love December games, and if we're fighting for a playoff spot, I imagine as fans, we'll love having all those home games to go. I was hoping for a three-game west-coast road trip, but...
  18. Sorry to nitpick, but not necessarily. The three west coast road games could have been in a row instead of all of them following east coast games. 4 out of 6 last games at home would make up for all the east-to-west travel, though.
  19. That is some dextrous cherry picking there -- "if you take out his two best games and ignore all his receiving stats, the fifth-round rookie had an average year." Also interesting that we played both games against Miami "in Florida" -- we might want to take that up with the schedule-maker as that seems a tad unfair. He also had four rushing TDs in the remaining games, fwiw. And let's give a rookie guard maybe more than a year to decide whether he's good.
  20. He's a pretty wonderful Fred Jackson-esque story and sounds like an easy guy to root for. He didn't make a roster until age 28 and promptly had that season you mention above. Found this article: http://thebiglead.com/2015/07/15/danny-lansanah-tampa-bay-bucs/
  21. Kyle Williams missed one game in the three years prior to 2015, was playing well when he was hurt, and is the same age fellow DT Pat Williams was when we gave up on him before he went to three straight pro bowls. Is it wise to take a DL in this draft, yes, but not if we're at the end of a run on DTs &/or DEs. Draft wisely, not for need.
  22. Ha, I know this is probably a joke, but it does look like he was released, and so he does not count towards compensatory picks.
  23. Ask a Dolphins fan if they think the Fins have improved. The recruiter at my last job was a huge Miami fan and posted on FB the day after they signed Mario, this quote from some area sportswriter: It's hard to figure out the Dolphins, who seem to stick their finger into the socket, get shocked, and wonder how many of their other fingers can fit inside. He then renounced his fandom and proclaimed himself a Bucs fan.
  24. They were hyped by some and not by others, but nowhere near how the Dolphins were treated. Miami was crowned the winner of the off-season quite frequently.
