I forgot to clarify... keep drafting QBs IF Manuel doesn't stay healthy. OOPS
-
1. C.J. needs space, but we need more than FA linemen to do that, obviously. 2. I'm sick of Stevie and Chandler...BOTH need to be replaced. Jettison the mediocrity. 3. Keep drafting a QB until we find THE GUY, because as of now you have to actually be healthy during a preseason or season in order to get snaps.

Andre Reed Elected into the Pro Football HOF
EasternOHBillsFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't agree with the first part... Art Monk had several years of waiting before he was chosen, along with Lynn Swann. The receiver position is one of the most competitive positions in the balloting, and you have to serve your time unless you are like Jerry Rice. Andre is just having to wait for his turn, and this year seems to be THE year- Harrison wasn't Jerry Rice, and Tim Brown has to wait longer. -
What is your second favorite NFL team?
EasternOHBillsFan replied to BuffalothruMyVeins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remember the very first Bills/Panthers game in Charlotte? That was an awesome game. The Panthers thought that Oliver return for almost a TD was so exciting, but the Bills took it to them. August 19, 1996 L, 0-24 BUFFALO 65,231 In fact, we've known each other for almost 20 years. MAN is that even possible? I feel so old now. Doing fantasy football on posterboard, Township eats... -
What is your second favorite NFL team?

The question should be: What would be your team if the Bills did get relocated? I have thought about that several times over the last few years, because I have no second team. My list breakdown: NEVER due to hatred: Cowboys Dolphins Jets Patriots Raiders Steelers NEVER due to city/dislike of fans: 49ers Eagles Falcons Giants Lions Ravens Redskins Texans Titans UNLIKELY: Bengals - Their owner turns me off. Buccaneers - Florida teams don't interest me. Cardinals - Arizona is in the middle of nowhere to me, no connection, bad history. Jaguars - Terrible ownership, weak fan base, Florida team. Panthers - The fans don't seem to be large in number and it's kinda blah to me. OK, so that leaves the following list of candidates: HISTORICALLY STRONG/GREAT FANS: Bears Broncos Colts Packers Vikings GREAT FANS: Browns Chargers Chiefs Saints Seahawks ACCEPTABLE: Rams I have decided that is IF the time ever comes to where we are screwed out of the Bills, I'd go with the Bears. I love their fans, their history, and the city. Until then, screw them and any other team so long as the Bills play in Buffalo. GO BILLS! -

Can we sign Julian Edelman and take him AWAY from the Cheatriots*? OOOOO I'd love that. Let Byrd fly away LOL -
Trick plays from Bills offense
EasternOHBillsFan replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
YES!!! Two thoughts pop into my head... one, the vision of Andre that allowed him to change direction and angle his body to avoid tackles, and the other Thurman doing the same on an outside screen. That's what made them special... an I think Goodwin has a lot more of that ability than Graham. -

The Bills teams of the 90s didn't use many either... end arounds were pretty much the only ones they used, being VERY effective with Andre. -
Patriots will be in the Super Bowl...
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Dr. K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Pats* will definitely win and go to the Super Bowl... it's a stone cold lead pipe lock. I have no doubts. There, now I've done my service for TSW. -
Poster you miss the most on tbd

That's because PPP is grossly undermoderated, and that PPP-like stuff doesn't fly in the other parts of this board. -

Worst thing that could happen this offseason??
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Oberyn's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Retaining T.J. Graham as a starter. The guy KILLS our offense 90% of the time, and it is a huge liability to have him out there. If he's not returning kicks or a special teams ace, let him languish. -
Dolphins Fans Should Be Ashamed
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick won't be in New England forever... all this talk about being miles from challenging the Pats* is HOOEY. They are obviously not going to keep winning and eventually one of us will knock the Pats* off of their perch. The Dolphins collapsed, but they aren't completely devoid of talent... they DID beat the Pats* after all, something we did NOT do!!!!!! If there is anything to be ashamed about, it is the state of the Dolphins O-line and the half-filled lower level yesterday in Miami. -
+1,000,000 This is an excellent point!! The talent level on this team needs tweaking and major improvement at QB and TE. Marrone has shown a heck of a lot in his first year and I'm optimistic with the staff. I'd give him more rope than a Jauron or a Gailey who've done it before coming here. I love historical comparisons... before Noll, the Steelers STUNK for decades.

Lewis to start / Manuel out
EasternOHBillsFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, considering that Tampa Bay, Cleveland, St. Louis, Arizona, Cincinnati, Houston, Jacksonville, Oakland, and more have all made the playoffs since 1999, and for REALISM that slaps you in the face the Saints, Buccaneers, Ravens twice, and the Rams all have won Super Bowls (the pathetic franchises of ages past and a NEW one) some of us actually are fed up by this circus act at QB and want the coaching carousel to stop. We have reasons to gnash teeth as you put it, but to play "realist" by continually refusing to recognize pitiful coaching and play isn't smart either. -
Lewis to start / Manuel out
EasternOHBillsFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many first round quarterbacks picked in the last 10 years have missed significant time in their first full season (declared starter at the beginning of the season)? Please give me some names, because a mobile QB like Manuel having THREE different periods of time out due to knee injury is leaning bust, which is a shame because he has flashes of brilliance. This is most certainly the worst case scenario if this trend continues in 2014, and we certainly do NOT need an RGIII-like situation here. I am distressed to see him not able to play this Sunday. To add, a lot of players are probably playing hurt, and if they are protecting him, then it just flies in the face of this win the game mentality in a bad season. It says that Manuel is different than everyone else, which I HOPE is not true. -
What are the four weakest starting players?
EasternOHBillsFan replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TE - Hoping for Moeaki to be back is not a plan LG - Our running game badly needs it LB - Alonso has to have quality help WR - Stevie's not a #1, tired of his act CB - Gilmore's regression is troubling, depth is nice -
Why is Graham used more than Goodwin?
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly, and Graham was a project when he was drafted anyways. +1. jboyst62, I have seen enough of this bum given chance after chance and blowing all but one. EJ was throwing to him, but was getting VERY little. Now, he barely looks his direction and for good reason. I went to NCSU, and even I have had enough of this guy taking up a roster spot. Marrone has to know that he's not going to play a down for the Bills in 2014, and if he doesn't then maybe we have the wrong HC. -
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! We won't do that... I'm being OPTIMISTIC
-
Marrone is a better coach than any of the other fools we've had here, doing it with less... a rookie QB, Graham tripping over himself, no real TE. Historically we have sucked at Tampa anyways, and this game was not a surprise to me. EDIT: Stevie Johnson is STILL not a #1 receiver, despite the numerous posts of him being great. Replacing him soon will be awesome, despite all attempts at him making himself marketable to fans.

OK, that's it... here are the straight facts for those who think Carpenter is fake: Rian Lindell, after a couple years as the Seahawks kicker, wasn't THAT great, but we signed him. Many great seasons later, we had to let him go. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/2489/rian-lindell Now, by circumstance, we pick up Carpenter after our drafted kicker comes up injured. What does he do? Kicks butt LIKE HE HAS SINCE HIS ROOKIE YEAR. Screw the open competition.... sign Carpenter to a multi-year deal, and retain Kopkins for kickoffs IF possible. Looking at Carpenter's numbers should have every Bills fan onboard, point blank. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/11688/dan-carpenter Carpenter is actually better than Lindell, which is insane but true. Do the right thing, Bills. Extend this guy SOON.

The point is that he never won a playoff game, and ALSO wasn't going to put his team into a position to make the playoffs without a high ranking defense to back him up. It took superhuman effort by the defense to cover for his glaring deficiencies, which explains who he only got two shots in his NFL career. No coincidence!

I would like to know Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed's opinion of Flutie, because I'd bet they have an unfavorable opinion. Comparing RJ to Flutie is like comparing a nuclear waste site to a burn pit... both bad for your health in varying degrees. Here's his playoff game numbers... and so to say he would have been better than RJ in that game is ludicrous. When facing a good team, he had no "magic"... all his magic was a last ditch effort to salvage the game he lost for 3 quarters! L 13-27 11/31, 35.48% completion, 134 yards passing, 1TD, 2 INT L 17-24 21/36, 58.33% completion, 360 yards passing, 1TD, 1 INT
