  1. Yesterday's game is the perfect example of why you always defer. Without the ball 1st in the 2nd half we don't get the crowd back into it with a score which then got the d into it. Set the tone on d with a pats 3 and out.
  2. The 12th man definitely showed up today! Bring on the Pats.
  3. I just feel like 3-0 isn't going to guarantee us the playoffs but this team has a different feel to it than years past. I just think 3-0 and a win against the Pats will take the team and the fans to places we haven't been in a long long time.
  4. It has been 11 years since we last made the playoffs. Everyone has wrote us off and for good reason. Back in the late 90's there was a question mark surrounding the lease of the stadium. Doug Flutie came in and the team had a good year. This play increased ticket sales and fan interest. We are likely in the same situation right now. we have sold just over 37,000 season tickets this year. There are 3 games with 15,000 to 18,000 seats left. My link Winning against Oakland this week will not only get fans excited for a good season because of a 2-0 start. The 2-0 start is most important because we play New England in week 3. If we are 2-0 going into New England and this team and the fans BILL-ieve we can beat the Patriots the stadium will be crazy. I would anticipate it being louder than the Monday night game against the Cowboys. (The last game I remember the stadium really rockin) If we end up beating the Pats I think the losing culture is gone for good. Win or loss I think this could be the case but a Pats win would definitely do it. If we started 3-0 and beat the Pats I don't see a game the rest of the schedule that we wouldn't have a chance to win then. To be 2-0 could mean a lot in our ability to beat the pats. If we beat the Pats and are 3-0 I think that everyone is hopping back on the wagon and the negativity of the last 10 years, the crappy old jersey, the crap looking field, a lot of the players from past regimes all gone. Here's to the next 2 and hoping we can win them both because in my opinion this will do more for the franchise than just and two wins. Thoughts?
  5. I believe they showed him in the booth. I know I watched him walk up to the booth at home during the preseason games.
  6. I could be wrong but I feel like when I was little I heard that it came from him liking biscuits and syrup for breakfast. I have NO source for this. EDIT - I do have a source http://www.nytimes.com/1991/01/27/sports/super-bowl-xxv-notebook-first-4-team-super-bowl.html?pagewanted=2 "I picked it up in third grade," he said. "A bunch of my friends would be sitting around eating and after everybody else finished, I'd grab for the leftover biscuits. Then I'd get a big plate, pour maple syrup over it and sop up the biscuits with the syrup. I'm a country boy. I still love biscuits."
  7. The Bills will pay Stevie, I have no doubt in my mind. They will use the franchise tag and sign him to a long term deal. The Fitz situation could get interesting. If he plays well all year and ranks as a top QB he will have a lot of suitors. I think he understands that his success stems partially from Chan and his offense. I think they will be able to work something out. Supposedly "Winning Cures Everything." I think the one thing it will cure is holding a team together. You never see guys leave Pittsburgh, New England, Indy, etc. If Buffalo continues to win this year and continues to grow as a team players will want to be here. I think that is one good thing we have going for us is this seems to me to be a true team. Obviously money talks, but it's easier to get the money right for a player when they want to be somewhere.
  8. You do realize that a few years back we started 5-1 and did not make the playoffs right?
  9. Posted in another thread earlier. Great points though. Evans is over rated and I personally never saw him as "a good soldier." Jmo but I was never a big fan.
  10. I posted this in another thread but thought people might be interested in seeing the information I gathered. I think the best part about these stats is that we did give up some big plays but overall we had a consistent performance with great stops. Below you will see the play by play starting in the 1st quarter for all run plays the chiefs had. Hash marks will separate the series. 1-10-KC 28 (11:37) J.Charles left end pushed ob at KC 32 for 4 yards (J.Byrd) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2-10-KC 20 (8:08) J.Charles up the middle to KC 23 for 3 yards (N.Barnett). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1-10-KC 14 (6:09) J.Charles left tackle to KC 18 for 4 yards (S.Merriman). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1-10-KC 20 (:55) J.Charles left end pushed ob at KC 42 for 22 yards (B.Scott). 1-10-KC 42 (:26) (Shotgun) J.Charles up the middle to KC 42 for no gain (C.Kelsay) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd quarter 1-10-BUF 37 (13:51) (No Huddle, Shotgun) T.Jones up the middle to BUF 36 for 1 yard (M.Dareus). 1-10-BUF 21 (12:53) (No Huddle, Shotgun) J.Charles right guard to BUF 19 for 2 yards (G.Wilson). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-10 KC 18 (6:37) J.Charles right end to KC 21 for 3 yards (G.Wilson). FUMBLES (G.Wilson), RECOVERED by BUFL. McKelvin at KC 21. L.McKelvin to KC 21 for no gain (J.Charles). Kansas City challenged the fumble ruling, and the play was Upheld. (Timeout #1 at 06:27.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2-10-KC 19 (5:28) (Shotgun) D.McCluster up the middle to KC 21 for 2 yards (M.Dareus) 2-9-KC 31 (3:56) (No Huddle, Shotgun) D.McCluster left tackle ran ob at BUF 46 for 23 yards (D.Florence). 1-10-BUF 46 (3:28) (No Huddle, Shotgun) T.Jones up the middle to BUF 44 for 2 yards (G.Wilson). 2-8-BUF 44 (2:55) (No Huddle, Shotgun) J.Charles up the middle to BUF 30 for 14 yards (J.Byrd). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3rd quarter NO RUSHING ATTEMPTS 4th Quarter 1-10-KC 16 (11:43) (Shotgun) J.Charles right end to KC 21 for 5 yards (D.Batten). 1-10-KC 31 (10:37) (No Huddle, Shotgun) J.Charles up the middle to KC 30 for -1 yards (D.Batten). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2-11-KC 19 (6:05) (No Huddle) D.McCluster up the middle to KC 24 for 5 yards (G.Wilson). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-10-KC 31 (:59) J.Battle up the middle to KC 35 for 4 yards (K.Morrison). 2-6-KC 35 (:22) (No Huddle) J.Battle right end to KC 38 for 3 yards (Sp.Johnson). In looking at this what's amazing is they gave up 3 runs of 23,22,14 for a total of 59 yards. That means on the other 15 attempts they averaged 3.26 yards per carry. The same goes for the passing - They had plays of 20,15,15,15,12,11,10 - For 98 yards. Out of the other 29 Pass Attempts - 15 completions they gained 21 yards. On those pass attempts they averaged under 1 yard per attempt. Now let's look at Drive Production .... 5 plays - ending in punt 4 plays - punt (3 and out) 4 plays - punt (3 and out) 10 plays - missed FG 1 play - fumble 11 plays - TD 5 plays - punt 4 plays - punt (3 and out) 5 plays - intercetption 6 plays - punt 4 plays - punt (3 and out) 5 plays - punt 2 plays - end of game All in all I would say that is a great defensive performance.

  12. I think the most encouraging thing is that today is not our ceiling. We allowed a few big plays. We missed on a few oppurtunities. It comforts me that we aren't just seeing the best we can do.
  13. We only gave up 218 yards of offense (113 rushing, 105 passsing) I believe... cassel completed 20 passes to get 100 yards... thats not really getting burnt in my eyes.
  14. I noticed it. I texted my Dad because during the Jags game I told my Dad I thought he would be cut. Turns out he played very well and might play a big role in this years defense.
  15. I am honestly surprised, I started him in fantasy...thought he would have a good day.
  16. He played the run pretty damn well I thougth at times.
  17. Even though the Ravens dominated the Steelers Lee Evans had 0 catches.
  18. nice! If we go into half 24-0 I will not know what to do with myself
  19. Spot of the foul? I like it but what the hell is that rule?
  20. The ref throws the flag for Face Mask after McCluster asks for it?
