  1. He was highly recommended by Sean Payton and Bill Parcells. Does everyone love him now?
  2. Peter King ranked him as a top 5 college hire back in October. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/peter_king/11/26/Week-12/4.html?mobile=no He said chip Kelly, Brian Kelly, Kirk ferentz, marrone and David Shaw
  3. 25-25 at a program that was 10-37 before him. They get NO recruits. What he has done has been pretty impressive.
  4. He was wanted by several teams. His interview with the Browns made them think he might be a better choice than Kelly, not just their "plan b." Talks about his record a bit.
  5. No they weren't but I think some people were afraid Brandon was going to try to sell tickets this way.
  6. You hit the nail on the head. This won't sell tickets but it may actually win us games. They chose the guy they thought was the best fit. I really like that.
  7. I take it your upset. He knows offense. He probably won't call plays which I want. I want an offensive coordinator calling his own and the head coach managing the game. This guy wasn't hired by saying look I don't have Nfl connections I am going to have a hard time assembling a staff: I would guess its mostly assembled and I think it will be good.
  8. He was the Jets Oline coach from 2001-2005 the went on to the Sainrs. You don't get 5 nfl interviews on accident. He has more nfl connection than most here think. He will put together a good staff. He wasn't my first choice but I kinda like it. He is a firey in your face guy, just what we need. I don't think he's coming as some are calling the "cheapest" option. He was being interviewed by 5 or 6 teams. Also the Cleveland's backup plan crap is stupid. Last night they were saying the Browns might flat out choose him over Kelly. This guy is super prepared from what I have seen. I honestly believe we made a good choice.
  9. I just can't believe they would be this dumb. Even after the last 13 years I can't believe it. There is no spinning this into a positive for me. I'm one of the biggest optimists there is. This wouldn't set well with me at all.
  10. I don't know that they dropped the ball they just decided to do it. I'm guessing Pegula got this idea from the Steelers who do it at local hospitals.
  11. I would love it. I would love to see some of the athletes we have on offense run his offense. I am not thinking its likely but I am not viewing it as a possibility which I wasn't doing before. Just find it an interesting coincidence that they are headed to Arizona first.
  12. I think they may want to avoid the national media picking up on Chip Kelly being an option for the Bills. Time will tell but I don't think that Russ Brandon settles on Wisenhunt. I think they go with a top tier guy this time around. I just feel like they think they have to at this point.
  13. If they are going to be moving towards an analytical football approach wouldnt they want to hire a coach that coaches analytical... Thats what Chip Kelly does. The Bills are NOT in my opinion going to Arizona to interview Wisenhunt, they may have put that out there and done that to throw off the scent of what I believe they will really be doing in Arizona...interviewing and offering Chip Kelly anything he wants. His bowl game is to be played January 3rd. I am betting the Bills will conduct this interview him later today. This is just my opinion but everything discussed leads me to this idea.
  14. What's the difference between him and an owner doing it? If he promotes Whaley he will make the decision. Also Brandon is way more connected than us yet we all have the obvious answers. I don't think it's as simple as he's a marketing guy.
  15. Jets are away so if your concerned tgere both home there not.
  16. This is great news. Anyone that bitches about any detail of this lease might want to consider that going into today we had a 1 year lease extension. Worst case scenario is 7 more years of the Bills. I highly doubt that Ralph outlives the 7 years and whats to say the state wouldn't jump in to renegotiate at 6 years if he is to ensure they stay longer? Nothing negative can be said about this deal in my opinion. This is great news!
  17. I am not "proposing" anything. I am simply saying what if Nix is the man and there are NO other options. What if there is Chan Gailey, or hire someone on the currect staff and hire an offensive coordinator? Because that is the only way I see Nix making any kind of change. I do not want the above scenario, it was just a thought as to something I could see Nix doing.
  18. The point of this thread wasn't who you want but a what if I could see Buddy doing I guess... I would prefer a young cosh as well that's looking for his shot.
  19. So you would prefer Gailey over someone who would put his best playmakers on the field? I don't want the above scenario but I would be more excited about the Bills with that staff than another year of Chan.
  20. What if Nix wanted continuity but was willing to change the head coach? What if he fired Gailey, promoted Wanstadt and hirers someone like norv turner as offensive coordinator? Would you be on board since Nix wants continuity?
  21. I am pretty sure 30,000 Bills fans would sign that petition based on what we've gone through
  22. I think this is foolish. I think that IF we get a new GM his name will be Doug Whaley. I think that IF we get a head coach it will be a coordinator getting his first shot at a job, and I think that coordinator will choose his Defensive Coordinator who will not be a guy that has coached and been fired from Buffalo, and also more or less banned from the leauge. I personally don't think you will see ANY of the mentioned changes. I think we will remain status quo for one more year and will see what happens. The change you will see is at the QB position.
  23. Merriman is a 4-3 DE and a 3-4 OLB. He's a much better fit in the 3-4, but hopefully can provide something to our awful defense.
  24. I find it funny Mario gets shiii for his wrist injury but the above mentioned Sean Lee is having surgery on a toe tomorrow and will miss the rest of the year...
