  1. Theres definitely something to this
  2. Just bc we draft a QB again doesnt mean we're giving up on EJ. This isnt 2005 where a rookie Qb will get 100 million bucks. Ej will have every chance to compete for the starting job nxt yr (key word being COMPETE) What if we start 0-5 next season? Would you rather turn to Manziel or a 2nd rd QB, or turn to Thad Lewis/Tuel? Im not saying its ideal to draft a qb rd1 again, but its also not a dumb move IMO
  3. Old school: I would agree, kind of like EJ Manuel. One nuance however: EJ Manuel played in a better conference (many would say) and his ceiling was seen, at draft time, as higher than Nassib's. You don't draft someone b/c they're familiar with your playbook. That's silly. You draft someone b/c you think their skillset will succeed in the NFL. Marrone had a 4 year combine session with Nassib, and he passed on him over, and over, and over, and over again.
  4. Old School: there wouldn't be a learning curve? What about playing NFL defenses? Developing timing/chemisry with your WR, TE and RB. Nassib was nothing more than an above average college QB in an average conference. The hype around this guy continues to boggle my mind.
  5. KDiggz: all those WR you mentioned were top 6 picks overall. Even if there was a WR like that in this year's draft, we wouldn't get him. But rest assured, there is plenty of talent this season at the WR/TE slots.
  6. I laugh hysterically at people who "question the maturity" of someone who literally just turned 21 this month. People look back at his actions when he was 18/19 and judge him for being immature. L M F A O. Get off it. the definition of "immature" is "not fully developed." That happens when you're 18/19!
  7. Hey Bandit: I would definitely target Saffold. He's young and strong. He played RT on Rams before Long got injured and then played LT a couple of games. Has also played guard. Pay the man to play RT for us. Saffold has gotten good ratings. Glenn, Yankey, Wood, Urbik, Saffold would be a huge upgrade and my dream for the OL. I also hope Hairston can come back and contribute. He would be perfect for depth on the OL.
  8. thebandit: Urbik is actually solid. Pears would not start on any playoff team, I believe. Our problem on OL is RT and LG; Urbik is OK.
  9. I dunno JBoy - nobody appeared to quit the week before when we shutout the Dolphins. This team is just too inconsistent is all. Playing the patsies will also make many teams look like they quit.
  10. I would take him. There is no rule/guide that says it's a bad idea. Question: If EJ was coming out this year, would you prefer Manziel or EJ at 9? Manziel, hands down. Go to training camp with an open QB competition and best QB wins. Worst case scenario, you trade one of them 1-2 years from now.
  11. Wow man, looks like you out a lot of work into this. I enjoyed it. I wonder how much of this can be attributed to a QB feeling they need to give someone the ball as opposed to playing free and passing where theyre comfortable. Maybe Ej and stevie just lack chemistry as well. Fitz and SJ were clearly on same page. Thats another factor w young QB's and veteran WR
  12. Preach on. No such thing as small beans in the NFL
  13. Ya philisophical difference was hilliard probably telling marrone: "hey dumbass, why you have TJ starting 90% of the snaps, he sucks" Marrone couldnt bench Hilliard for a half like Dareus so he's just let go.
  14. Its almost January. Any position is thin now. John Kitna just suited up for the cowgirls yesterday. Come May next year there will be countless Punters better than Moorman. Great guy. But hes done. I dont need to hear about possibly re-signing him. Dont amuse me, Whaley.
  15. Lmao. I dont know why but i just laughed hysterically at the sequence of those 5 words. Im losing my mind with this franchise.
  16. Exactly. Maybe Crossman gets to meetings really early and tries real hard though. You know, like Hogan does. We need a bunch of hogans and crossmans on this team - no talent hacks, but man are they punctual.
  17. Trading down twice would be fine by me. Though if we trade down the first time to around 15, i would probably just not chance it and take Yankey there. Hes that good if he declares, which he probably will. I know taking a Guard in the teens is kinda nuts. Last time we did i think was Ruben Brown at 13 or 14 ? Yankey is the total package and the left side of our line would be set for years.
  18. Id be very happy w your team. I would like: QB - EJ RB - CJ n FRED LT - GLENN LG - DAVID YANKEY - 1st pick after trading down to teens C - WOOD RG- URBIK RT - RODGER SAFFOLD - FA from rams TE - JACE AMARO - 2nd round pick WR - WOODS WR - STEVIE WR - JORDAN MATTHEWS - 2rd pick from trade down DL - MARIO DL - KW DL - MD DL - CARRINGTON/BRANCH/HUGHES OLB - LAWSON MLB - DANSBY - id give him a 2/3yr contract worth whatever he wants OLB - KIKO CB - GILMORE CB - LEODIS SS - A. WILLIAMS FS - TAG or Re-sign Byrd
  19. Firing the WR coach. LMAO. He definitely cost us 3-4 games this season.
  20. If we were to tag and trade him I could see a team giving up a 2nd round pick for this guy. You think we have enough money to just give him the contract he wants. Sucks to let a guy like this go.
  21. Possibly might have to. Going into the season with just Searcy/Duke Williams at FS might be dangerous. Not sure how much Duke has progressed during his rookie season we'll see how highly coaches think of him. Think he was a 4th round pick and could've gone higher if not for his off field issues. Antoine Bethea?
