This is exactly correct and its been the case since Nixon's executive order eliminated the convertibility of the dollar into gold. And every administration since then has been on a quest to increase the national debt. Now about $36 Trillion. I saw numbers that speculated this bill will add $5 trillion to that figure. Something's got to give and its going to be the US dollar. Where I disagree with Massie is I believe we're a lot closer to the day of reckoning than he suggests. Trump's approach while politically different leads to the same result as Biden. We can argue politics all we want and blame one party or the other but in my view its merely a cleanest pig in the mud hole debate.

Except in America they're hiding ruthless street crime gang members armed with AK-47s selling drugs and running sex trafficking operations. But I sure can't wait to read the book or see the movie. What Trump's doing seems to be executive overreach and don't worry about Harvard. The US District Court for the District of Columbia will issue an injunction before the weekend.

I read this bill over time will add $5 trillion more to the national debt currently pegged at $36 trillion with annual interest payments of over $1 trillion which is the level carried over from Biden. So I'm wondering, if they can borrow a couple trillion every year why can't the government just eliminate the income tax and borrow all the money they need? Is it simply a distinction between irresponsible fiscal policies that accumulate higher and higher debts that will kill us slowly vs. one that will kill us quickly?

Motorhead - Orgasmatron I am the one, orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand My image is of agony, my servants rape the land Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law My name is called religion: sadistic, sacred w h o r e I twist the truth, I rule the world, my crown is called deceit I am the emperor of lies, you grovel at my feet I rob you and I slaughter you, your downfall is my gain And still you play the sycophant and revel in your pain And all my promises are lies, all my love is hate I am the politician and I decide your fate I march before a martyred world, an army for the fight I speak of great heroic days, of victory and might I hold a banner drenched in blood, I urge you to be brave I lead you to your destiny, I lead you to your grave Your bones will build my palaces, your eyes will stud my crown For I am Mars, the god of war, and I will cut you down

And yet with all of its intelligence and law enforcement capability and believing the President was calling his supporters to violence it's never been clearly and logically explained why the government was completely unprepared to handle the event. A thinking person might ask why?

Moody's is simply catching up to the ratings downgrade already made by the other 2 major credit raters well before the tariffs and Trump although he's not helping anything here. So that excuse doesn't fly. And it is all inevitable unless you believe in the Fairy Tale that the current administration or any future administration is going to get fiscal discipline, balance the budget, run a surplus, and pay down the national debt along with consumers reducing their borrowing and ceasing to augment their lifestyle through the accumulation of huge debts. And you think all the beneficiaries, individual citizens and business, of all these Federal entitlement programs and handouts are going to cheer the fiscal responsibility and accept that the end of the transfer payments to their accounts is a small price to pay for fiscal responsibility. Or you think the Fed is going to respond to any crisis by any means other than to flood the markets with liquidity in an attempt to kick the can down the road as far and as long as possible. I suggest we've past the point of no return but absent that, what's your grand forecast for where we're headed?
-
My conclusion is government deficits and the national debt will keep rising, no matter who is President or what party is in control with the only distinction being who benefits most from the money printing racket. The Central Bank response to any market crisis or disruption to rising markets will be the injection of massive amounts of liquidity (cash, credit, QE, etc) in order to support nominal asset values (stocks, bonds, etc) and keep the party going for as long as possible which at that point something breaks that more money printing or debt creation won't fix. Lots of inflation ahead in the meantime. But yeah, at the end of it all there could be deflation as asset values are crushed by the destruction of capital and paper wealth resulting in deflation but it might be a long time before we reach that point in time.

NFL to Have Vote That Would Alter Playoff Seeding
All_Pro_Bills replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
If they're going to eliminate winning the division guaranteeing a home playoff game then why not just eliminate divisions and play a balanced schedule with each team playing the other 15 conference teams one time with 2 out of conference games. -
Trump’s trip to the Middle East

Count by country of US military bases not counting CIA operations. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/us-overseas-military-bases-by-country See point number 2 - enforcing the petrodollar system. Nixon made this deal way back when with the Saudi's and OPEC. With world oil demand at around 104M bbl/Day at a low ball price of $60/bbl that's a total potential daily demand for 6,240,000,000 US dollars. Ask yourself what happens to all those dollars if settlement changes to local currencies, some other currency, gold or crypto? Where are all those dollars going to find a home? Massive inflation. So the military is there to enforce the system. Anyone trying to buck the system without permission after diplomatic and economic actions fail to persuade them to stop, places like Libya, Iraq, Iran, Syria, get treated to the full force of US military power. -
Trump’s trip to the Middle East

You could be asking why the US has something like 600 military bases in foreign countries around the world. And I'd answer that's how Empires work. As for the ME, guarding the oil fields in the region, enforcing the petrodollar trade settlement system, and inhibiting China from gaining a strategic footprint in the region. -
Trump ❤️ Tariffs

Because MAGA are illiterate hillbillies and unwashed masses of trouble making insurrectionists that own no stocks they don't care about the S&P 500 and probably don't know what that is anyway. -
Word is they've been trying to unload this plane on the open market for a few years but there are no takers. So gifting it is one of few other options. It's not a personal gift to Trump but rather a gift to the US government. If it was up to me, considering how much retrofit and upgrading that plane requires along with security and surveillance concerns I'd respectfully decline the "gift".

What the Hell is Happening in Syria?

Anyone paying attention to the conflict saw that coming when the Islamic fundamentalists al Qaeda linked group too over because that's what they do. -
The biggest racket for medical charges is the hospital. Its open season for billing. A doctor walks in and asks you how you're doing and checks your chart then submits an $800 charge to your insurance. And if any of them happen to be out of your insurance network then God have mercy on you. I guess those country club memberships and golf lessons for their 5 year old don't pay for themselves.

Is not the government of South Africa carrying out a program of "land reform" which entails the confiscation of "white" owned and run farms and distribution of those properties to "native" blacks in the country? Let's guess where that leads. Lower farm output, higher food prices and shortages, starvation, civil unrest. I believe land redistribution is standard socialist/communist playbook policy.

There are few independent thinkers on either side of the isle. Rare is the Senator or Representative that breaks rank on votes. Rarer still is bi-partisan collaboration. I suspect if Trump worked with Congressional leadership to legislate lower drug prices few to none Democrats would vote "yes". Because, well you know why. The dictator narrative prohibits the President from being viewed as following the Constitution.

It's what people in the business call "negotiating". -
Nixon issued an executive order in August 1971 suspending the convertibility of the US dollar into gold ending the post-WW2 Breton Woods agreement which ushered in the current US dollar reserve fiat monetary system the world has been operating under for the last 54 years. I'd say that's the most impactful executive order in the history of the country. It's debatable whether any piece of legislation ever authorized through Congress has had such an impact. The entire world exists as it does today because of this EO.

The government has negotiating power over drug coverage and pricing for Medicare and Medicaid but little over Commercial coverage. If you ask me the first thing I'd look at doing in the Commercial segment is bringing anti-competitive charges against insurers to force divestiture of PBM businesses. A couple being Optum Rx and CVS Caremark.

If they do arrest this woman I'll give you 50 to 1 that Democrats immediately start a lie that the administration plans to send her to El Salvador. -
We all know its a stupid idea. That's the intent behind it. To distract and confuse the opposition, not his base. Trump makes some wild statement and the Democrats get triggered and go off and running with it. Its part of his routine like the childish name calling. If this was hockey instead of politics Trump would be an instigator or agitator type of player running around playing chippy and taking shots at the other team just on the edge of the rules and out of view of the officials. Then they retaliate and take a penalty or two.
