  1. Trent: "We have a new coach and that's what we have. We'll have a new coach Sunday and we have to prepare for Jacksonville." Donte, crying: "I just want to show everyone how good we are now." TO: "I thought Tyke was the head coach."
  2. In fact, Lynch did return kicks during his freshman and sophomore years at Cal. Not punts, I don't think.
  3. Ellison did get burned by Watson on both TDs, right? Not a big fan. Would love to see Nic Harris get lots of reps.
  4. Does your son weigh 245 pounds and run the 40 in 4.6?
  5. Rochester and Albany are also on the list. Upstate loves its sports.
  6. Besides the gap in talent of our "big name guys," it really seems to me that the big difference between the 2009 Bills and the 1990s Bills was the incredible depth. It wasn't like today, when you're basically counting on one of four or five guys to make a big play. That team had so many weapons on both sides of the ball - and so many guys you rarely heard of who made plays. Plus, an offensive line that wasn't an EZ Pass.
  7. Just another reminder of how far the franchise has fallen over the past 10 years. A great video that brought a smile to my face.
  8. What a catch by Tasker!!! The problem with the Bills of today is we don't have the depth and the role players that those amazing teams had back then. There wasn't a weak link on those teams. Now, we have about 15 weak links. Someday we'll be back. We're getting there....
  9. Jim Rome is often complimentary of the Bills and Bills fans especially. Was it Rome who said last year that the NFL is just a better league when the Bills are good?
  10. I thought it was a great story about someone who seems like a great kid. I like feeling an attachment to our players, something that gives us another reason to root for them, and having guys who seem grounded and have nice stories is part of that. Plus, is anyone else a bit embarrased by all the shenanigans this off-season?
  11. I just don't see the use in trading a guy who averages 16 yards every time he touches the ball, changes the way opposing teams gameplan and is a legit threat to score on every punt return. I assume it would mean putting Jackson on returns - and that guy (if he shows up) is gonna already be carrying the ball 20 times a guy for the first three weeks. So who would return?
  12. Man, people sure do like to b*itch and moan on this site. Some guy writes about how he's proud of Upstate New York and you psychos jump all over him.
  13. Mariotti is a hack who never goes to stadiums and got ripped by Ozzie Guillen and the Chicago media when he left the Sun Times. He's spineless. I left WNY because I got the job of my dreams and needed to feed my family. But I still love it, as I'm sure all us ex-pats do as well. Ef these guys if they rip on Buffalo. Fact is, this move makes our beloved Bills a bit more relevant. Not that we should care what anyone else thinks, but I enjoy watching the national media talk about our team.
  14. While they're at it, the Bills should trade for Larry Fitzgerald, sign Ray Lewis and convince Bruce effing Smith to come out of retirement. It's not happening!! None of it is!!! Josh Reed, Steve Johnson and James Hardy will be our Nos. 2, 3 and 4 next year because of that cheap owner and apathetic "GM."
  15. On paper, this guy is a huge upgrade over Greer. Faster, bigger, more INTs. And Greer is gonna get at least $5 million a year on the market and we got this guy for $3.3 a year.
  16. I can't say I'm going to miss any of the guys who left. This team has been 7-9 three years in a row. It's time to get more fresh blood in here, not wait for the players we have to improve.
  17. Look, this is bad news. Marshawn should know better than to allegedly be driving around with a loaded gun. I'm disappointed in my favorite player. Still, I'm disgusted by the way the Buffalo News is jumping on him. Full disclosure: I'm a newspaper reporter. I generally like Jerry Sullivan, but his column today was disgusting. Lynch gets kicked out of a bar for bringing in his own liquor and that shows a punk pattern? Are you kidding? If Chris Kelsay got kicked out of a bar for bringing in his own beer, the media would laugh and call him a cowboy. And then for the News to quote some anonymous cop source from the suburbs saying Lynch's traffic incident was part of a pattern to me is irresponsible. Oh, and by the way, when Lynch was shot at in Oakland, it was a case of mistaken identity. He was in a car outside his sister's high school graduation. I was living in Oakland at the time and anyone who followed the story knows it had nothing to do with Lynch.
  18. If Bledsoe wins that game against the Steelers and we make the playoffs, our opinion of him would be much different. That was a very fun season.
  19. All these people jumping ship: If we start 3-0 next year or are at least mildly entertaining, you better not blabber on about how devoted you are. This team is in a crap funk. Every franchise goes through this. I know we're all frustrated because sometimes it seems ownership doesn't give a rat's a** about building a winner. But c'mon!! They were one missed FG and one terrible play call/fumble away from being 9-7. While 9-7 still would have been a big letdown after the way things started, it still would have been seen by a lot of posters here as a step in the right direction.
  20. I'm just throwing it out there. Maybe a little continuity is a good thing? Maybe by trying to sell this coaching staff to the angry fans, ownership will make some splashes in the off-season? Let's look at the good of 2008: Trent Edwards improved and the Bills' record was 7-5 in games in which he played the whole game. How can we give up on a second-year QB who finished 7th in the AFC in QB rating? I know there's more than stats, but I say give him another year. Injuries are obviously a concern. Marshawn Lynch: This guy is a stud. Leodis McKelvin: Tough defender, good hands, great returner. Steve Johnson: Nice No. 3 receiver. Now all we need is a legit No. 2 (although Josh Reed is one of my favorite players). Offensive first downs increased by 40, offensive yards increased by 30 yards a game, defensive yards allowed went down by 40 a game. Poz had 110 tackles in what was essentially his rookie year. Sorry, but I'm just tired of all the negative crap surrounding this team. And what choice do I have? I wasn't born in Pittsburgh or Indy.
  21. Peters' trade value is a 1st and a 3rd. It's pretty clear he's played his last down for the Bills and other teams know that. Watch that Oklahoma TE. He is amazing. and he can block. The silver lining of the Jauron extension might be that ownership (I refuse to name him) knows the fans are pissed and they're going to have to do something with this team to get 60,000 at home games next year. perhaps that means they'll be active in free agency and/or on draft day.
  22. ef this. I already bought six tickets and am flying in from California to meet my family for the game!! I love our Bills. I just wish they didn't kill me.
  23. I mean that football is a tough sport and I want guys who the other team is afraid of. Marshawn seems to be the only player on our team who the opposition has trouble with every week because of his toughness. I'm not saying I want criminals, just big and nasty football players (on the field) and it seems we have a bunch of softies.
  24. Once in a while, I'd like to see a Bill other than Marshawn Lynch trying to rip someone's head off.
