  1. Based on the money they're throwing at the current DEs, I just don't see them drafting a DE in the first round or signing a free agent. At the same time, the pass rush from the DE has been the biggest defensive weakness. Despite that, the defense ranks 13th - not terrible and actually pretty good considering how long they're on the field every week.
  2. This year's draft is suddenly looking decent - except for Hardy and Ellis, of course. McKevlin, Johnson, Fine and Corner have all shown signs. Still, McKelvin is the only one I see being a big playmaker over the years. Just wish the coaches would stop calling such soft pass defenses. Why do they always give the WRs 10 yards? So what should we draft this year? That tight end from Oklahoma? O-line? DE?
  3. I'd be shocked if Trent played again this year. I know he needs reps, but at this point, what's the use? If he's not 100 percent, two cold weather games could sideline him for a long time. Plus, Hamdan is definitely here next year - let's see what he can do. If we're this pissed about them bringing Jauron back, can you imagine how pissed we'll be if they brought JP back? Why even bother playing JP at this point?
  4. How is it possible that we have no idea about Jauron's extension? How has that not leaked out? It really seems that a big-name coach is going to be the only thing that gets us over the hump. A big-name coach will make the Bills a more attractive destination for free agents. Honestly, what makes Pittsburg such a special place? It's a dump. But they're always good.
  5. Jeez, have you guys taken a look at Marty's all-time record?!?!? Two losing seasons, including one 4-12 Chargers team that he turned into 12-4 the next year. Sadly, however, I think we're stuck with Jauron for at least another year.
  6. It's so easy to take a shot at someone you don't know when your real name is not attached to the post. Jauron was not a bad move. He is a well-respected coach in the NFL. But he isn't working out. Three years is enough and this has been the most frustrating season I've had as a fan in many, many years (2003 comes close). I just think we need to be patient. We have some - but not many - terrific players on this team. Marshawn Lynch is going to be beloved before it's all said and done. Lee Evans is a pro. Leodis looks like the real deal. Relax. But maybe we could get a quarterback who had actually seen rain or snow before he stepped foot on a football field in Buffalo. And one who doesn't refer to himself as "we" all the time.
  7. There was talk on here a couple of weeks ago about which Bills people thought truly hate losing. I think Josh Reed is in that group. He seems like a very tough competitor. He may be the slowest wide receiver out there, but he's crafty, his hands have gotten much better and he's tough. Wish we had more tough guys like he and Lynch and fewer "high character" nerds.
  8. I totally agree. It also looked to be helmet to helmet. I think the concept of running up the score in the NFL is a joke.
  9. I think Kelsay is a decent No. 2 DE who makes more big plays than anyone else on that line (except for Stroud on Monday). It's our No. 1 DE who is the issue. TE is the biggest hole, especially with a young QB who right now appears afraid to throw the ball longer than 10 yards. It seems we're the only team in the league who never throws any kind of short crossing route. Center also must be addressed. I also can't help but think how much we miss Mouse McNally right now. And a big, physical, nasty CB or S would be nice. Remember, Crowell comes back next year and our LB crew is immediately upgraded.
  10. Lynch's biggest problem isn't Lynch. It's the pathetic O-Line. Jason Peters has shown me nothing. Lynch never goes down on first contact, despite always getting hit at the line or behind it. And with one legit WR, defenses can devote more attention to you. It's why screens to Lynch never do anyting - there's always a defender right there waiting for him. It's also a matter of getting into a groove, which is hard to to when you rush about 11 times a game.
  11. We should win the next four. But then again, we should have won the Jets game. Who knows? I thought someone asked a decent question of Jauron Monday, even if it came out terribly. They basically asked if the team needed more "inspiration" beyond what the coaches are giving right now. I think that's valid - this team looks like it's sleep walking right now. I wish we could combine the intensity and flair of last year's team with this year's more mature, more talented team.
