  1. Came down from Sacramento and flew the old man out from WNY. Go Bills!!
  2. The Bills have drafted QBs in the past decade - including one in the first round that the pundits gushed over. Where is he now? The UFL? For all we know, Week One will turn out to be as meaningless to this season as the Week Three win over the Pats turned out to be last season - a fluke. I might be delusional, but I still think 10-6 is within reach.
  3. I live in Sacramento and I'll be there. Does anyone know for sure if Bay Area Bills Backers are organizing an outing? Would love to sit with other Bills fans (other than my wife).
  4. Does anyone have a link for the press conference? Had a meeting and couldn't watch or listen to it, but would love to see the raw footage.
  5. You spend two nights in a place, I have to think he's going to sign. It sounds like they took he and his fiance to look at houses. Then again, nothing would surprise me. The Meacham situation is totally different. The guy went to be the No. 1 target for Phillip Rivers. He would have been No. 2 here. Can't blame him at all.
  6. I know Stevie has had three (at least) high profile drops the past two years, but according to the Washington Post, he's not in the top 32 of the league for drops this season. I guess it's not that surprising given how many short and intermediate routes he runs. Then again, he has been targeted 127 times and has 72 catches, so that doesn't seem so good.
  7. He's a joke - but I'm sure he'll be on Twitter later promoting his "swag."
  8. You know what guys? It's OK to be maniacally defensive about your city.
  9. Agreed! Who gives a crap how we got here - we're 4-1 and have beaten two (supposed) Super Bowl contenders. It's been a blast!!
  10. Fantastic article!! Another example of how Fitz is like a real guy. He rejected joining the finals clubs at Harvard - those are basically the frat clubs for rich kids seeking status - and he walked to games with his parents every week. Now go beat the Bengals!
  11. A lot of us are fed up with current ownership, right? Well, I'm starting to worry more and more that the next owner of this franchise will be in Los Angeles or Toronto. This L.A. stadium deal seems like it's happening for sure. And can anyone guarantee to me that someone in WNY or with WNY connections is going to swoop in, buy this team after Ralph passes and keep them in Buffalo?
  12. Needing a win in week 17 to make the playoffs, Fitz has the ball ripped from his hands and returned for TD and Lindell misses a 29-yard field goal to seal the loss. Sorry, still have flashbacks to that Steelers game. Brad Smith throws a TD pass, rushes for a TD and catches a TD pass in the same game - twice.
  13. I would only swap the Oakland/NYG results. But 5-11 is where I see them, too. 6-10 very possible with a win over Denver to finish the year 3-2 in the last 5 and a shred of optimism going into 2012.
  14. I know it hasn't been written on this board. I should have made that clear - sorry. But some fans are, in my opinion, being unfair with their expectations this year. That's all I'm saying.
  15. It seems some fans expected a 180 degree turnaround this soon. I'm in it for the long haul. In fact, I think we're better off than a lot of franchises that are in rebuilding mode. Look at the 49ers - they're a mess. Their same ineffective QB is on his third coaching regime. And they're getting worse. At least this Bills leadership cleaned (most of the) house from what I think we can all agree was a pile of you know what. Let's not just hang on to guys for posterity's sake. Still, if by next season they're not an 8-8 team, I think the rebuilding is off track. But my point is that it's too early to judge now.
  16. I'm a little worried about the pressure Lee's departure is going to place on Stevie, Fitz and the young receivers. From that point of view, I don't hate the idea of grabbing TO for one year. I like Nelson, but I just have a hard time believing that Easley and Roscoe can stay healthy and that any of the the other young guys are ready to be No. 2s.
  17. Oh, I totally agree. I wanted them to win like crazy yesterday. I don't want moral victories. And I also don't want to look at next year's draft - that's a long ways away and I'm not convinced our savior is in that draft anyway. I guess I'm only saying that if we are not going to the playoffs, let's just be fun to watch.
  18. We're all sick of 7-9. If we're gonna suck, let's suck for real and get a top-5 pick in the draft. But darn, that game was fun, wasn't it? If we can go 3-13 with a few more fun games like that, I'm all for it. Then let's go out and draft a stud OT or LB next year.
  19. Who knows? Maybe with a full season as a starter, Fitz will show he can be a top-12 QB in this league. Let's just wait and see. Fitz has a great arm, is gutsy and I really think has a chance of flourishing in a competent offensive system. He's been a back-up, but so was Tom Brady until Bledsoe got his a** lit up. I'm not saying Fitz is Tom Brady (he's much better looking), but he could be Trent Dilfer.
  20. 6.0 pathetic YPA average, but made some nice timing throws. still, anytime Corey McIntyre is that involved in the passing offense, we're in trouble. would have liked to see some deeper throws, besides the two to TO. TO is a waste. Can't wait to see him gone. It did seem that Brohm and Lee had some chemistry, at least for two guys who have practiced together 3 times.
  21. I think this is a really good point. Year after year under DJ, the Bills led the league in players on the IR. And it's clear we wear down in the trenches as the games drag on - both signs that this team has been out of shape.
  22. Was it just me, or was anyone else having some warm and fuzzy flashbacks yesterday to that other QB we used to have who made great runs, dove head first and also played his college ball in Boston? It just reminded me of the energy this team had when Flutie was the helm. It wasn't always pretty, but the dude won. Let's hope Ryan can do the same.
  23. And what a great point about Rian's FG. Jauron punts in that situation every time, Miami takes over and can rely on the run to eat up a little clock and get into FG position for the win. Loved the call. At this point in the season, we should bask in every positive - and today was great. I say give Fewell a legit shot to take over and approach T.O. about 2010. Why not?
  24. So did Trent. I hate this move. Fitzpatrick is not at all the long-term answer. It's pretty clear Trent isn't either, but this has the smell of a move being made by a team that thinks it has a shot at the playoffs, which we don't. Are they just trying to please TO? Who cares what that guy thinks, he's gone after 7 more games.
