  1. I love that it starts with "if we simply adjust the result of the play, his stat line looks fantastic!"
  2. Do you really not know what folks mean when they say this? The point is that the plays they're running are likely to be heavily simplified and in no way reflective of what the game plan, scripted plays, etc will look like in week 1. Now, if you disagree with that, fine. The rampant mischaracterization of others' arguments in this thread is more than a bit palpable. By the way, you never answered my question: who should be the starting RB? We're throwing out 2015 and 2016, which means we're only focused on what's transpired this preseason...so... Who should start at RB?
  3. I know this...which is why I've told you a half dozen times that "don't dismiss Peterman's potential" is an entirely separate argument from "who gives this team the bests chance to win right now".
  4. Throw out last year? Ok...who should start at RB?
  5. And the Jets game that you decided didn't count because shady was out...but the guy that had the highest YPC in the NFL last year played. As Kirby points out, just compare the O in 2015-2016 with Tyrod to the O in 2015-2016 without him. What's the result?
  6. Just FYI Cinci's run D in 2015 was bottom-10 in YPC allowed, so there's no outlier in Kirby's argument
  7. Not only taking away what he does best, but taking away the only target with whom he had any developed level of trust. Tyrod's biggest issue as a passer is that he doesn't throw with anticipation; the reason that his YPA is at an elite level (8.8) with Sammy in the lineup (and among the doldrums without him--6.2) is that he CAN throw with anticipation if he trusts his receiver enough. Many of us knew what to expect when the FO put Tyrod in this position. Comfort, trust, chemistry, etc don't just show up on command.
  8. 15-14 as a starter in the regular season (despite a badly underachieving defense) and a top-10 scoring offense I'd say he's proven that he's not overwhelmed as a starter Nobody said he can't be improved upon
  9. Indeed People that watch more than just the preseason and don't have an agenda tend to place more emphasis on his body of work over 29 regular season games than 2 preseason quarters Crazy, I know
  10. So...do I like, win something?
  11. Then this entire discussion is moot, unless the discussion was intended to center on which QB should be named the starter when both are available
  12. Um, we're going to put more emphasis on 2 quarters of preseason action than 29 regular season games? No. Just no No. I am using his numbers from the whole preseason vs Taylor's NFL body of work. There is literally no reason to think this
  13. 2 year starter with a track record > 5th round rookie that is a 50% passer I don't think there's an NFL coach in the history of the game that would do what some folks here think is a good idea
  14. So the guy that completes 50% of his passes against 2's and 3's is better? That's dumb As to Miller, perhaps go read the Ducasse thread, because I've "griped" about half a dozen times. Just once it would be nice if you took a second to think before hitting post.
  15. You do not yank a QB that is 15-14 in the NFL and has run an offense that finished top-10 in points scored to start a 5th round rookie who completes 50% of his passes
  16. Thanks--I didn't think it was that complicated either
  17. Ok then: it makes no sense for a HC of a run-first team (in win-now mode) that just lost their starting RB to make a deal (with a team that they have a trade history with) to bring in a top-3 RB that knows the system and has a relationship with said HC. Feel better?
  18. Geez guys; you aren't trying to strengthen their roster. You folks have missed the point greatly--KC would make a ton of sense as a team that would have the highest level of interest based on: Andy Reid The loss of their RB1 Being in win-now mode
  19. No, it doesn't make your first rounder a 2nd rounder in essence. First off, they had the 27th pick in 2017; that's not markedly different than I'd expect them to pick in 2018; the trade was hardly made based on an assumption that KC would go in the tank--it was all about adding draft pick capitol. If you're concerned that shipping them McCoy will push them over the hump to become a Super Bowl winning team, well, suffice to say I disagree Second, a 1st round pick is never essentially a 2nd rounder. First round picks get contracts that include the 5th year option, which is a critical difference, and the reason that teams often trade back into the first round for guys they like. The point here is simple: you are unlikely to get great value for a RB with a big contract who is on the downside of his career. If KC is the team that valued him the most, then that's the team that makes the most sense as a trade partner. It would be decidedly silly to trade him to GB for a 3rd (just as an example) instead of to KC for a 2nd simply because you're worried about losing 3-5 draft slots with your second first-round pick.
  20. I've had two Elantras in a row. Great cars. Very dependable and a good ride.
  21. If you're trying to maximize the return on the player, then yes, it makes sense to trade him to the place where he'd have the highest value. That he makes the trade partner better will necessarily lessen the value of the pick irrespective of who that trade partner is--you realize that, right? Of course, trading your best player doesn't often make sense regardless of how you slice it, but if you're concerned about lessening the value of a pick, then you should be trading him for a player There no way you believe anyone would trade a 1st and 2nd for a RB--let alone one on the downside of his career
  22. Your condescension aside.:: Sending a top-flight RB to a run-first team, who's top RB just went down with a knee injury, coached by his former HC, that is clearly in win-now mode makes perfect sense. If you're a team that's determined to trade the guy in the first place.
  23. Hopes: Stay healthy Starting O puts one in the end zone Vlad plays himself off the roster Someone steps up and wins the RCB and slot corner jobs Expectations: At least one relatively significant injury Tyrod continues to look lost without his only trusted target Vlad plays himself off the roster Wright wins the RCB job by default when Seymour plays poorly; Gaines earns the slot role
  24. I'm going with 19 passing and 4 rushing with 10 INTs and 3 fumbles
  25. Cheddar and thick-sliced smoked bacon omelet Canadian bacon Sausage patties Blueberry pancakes Real Vermont maple syrup Home fries with extra onions Paula's donuts Black coffee Yes, all of those
