Greg Garbriel: On What the Bills Are Trying To Do
thebandit27 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There will be some smart, calculated moves by this regime that make sense (Darby, Ragland), but I believe that the approach will also yield some moves that end up being big-time failures. Not just getting rid of an elite talent like Sammy, but the "scheme fit" stuff will result in guys like Ducasse playing ahead of more capable players. It's too early for any kind of diagnosis (let alone conclusion), and so I truly hope that this FO crew doesn't become the type that is so married to their scheme that they perpetually miss the forest for the trees. -

If that's what you think, and you're not just pulling my chain, then you are beyond incapable of comprehending even the most basic of discussions. But I honestly don't believe that you're serious...nobody's reading comprehension is that poor. You've fooled more than a few people on here into believing that you're sincere though, so good job with that -
Richie tried to fight Marcell in Baltimore

I think they should leave it, but change the title to include "rumor"...all too often on this site have we seen odd threads like this pop up and eventually be proven true. Not saying this one is (or isn't); simply leaving the possibility open. -

Can this title get changed to add "unsubstantiated rumor" just to make things clear? -

Of course...I'm not criticizing the staff or anything. Some folks have gotten the impression that anyone stumped for Kouandjio (or Dawkins) at LT and moving Glenn to RT. Many of us said that it would be smart to consider whether or not such a move would get the best unit-of-5 on the field, and were subsequently told how dumb it would be to even consider moving Glenn from LT because...well...reasons that don't make sense. That's all there is to the discussion. -

You don't Which is why it would've been a CONSIDERATION...I swear this isn't exactly a groundbreaking thought process -

As I discovered months ago, I know you aren't serious with the schtick...because there's no way physically possible that someone could be this poor at following a discussion. If you were serious, you would literally never have a functioning conversation, because the crux of practically everything I've ever seen you attempt to discuss on this board is entirely lost on you. -

The worst take of them all is the dude that can't follow the discussion and simply blasts out platitudes like "you don't move your LT and no team ever does" when it's blatantly false. Yep...not a difficult concept to grasp. It doesn't mean that (1) Dawkins would be a better LT than Glenn, (2) the Glenn would be a permanent fixture at RT, or (3) it's a definite solution to the OL issues. It would simply mean (hypothetically) that--for a single season--moving Glenn over to the right side would get the best combination of 5 on the field. Why that's such a massive mystery to a few folks will never make sense to me. -

Right; it's obvious at this point he can't play full-time, or he'd be on a roster somewhere. The point wasn't to move Glenn; the point was that it was a one-year band-aid option to get the best combo of 5 on the field--it didn't materialize. -

Never saw anyone say that. I (and others) did say, however, that given how well he performed last year, it would be worth considering if the team's best combination of 5 OLmen would include Cyrus at LT and Glenn at RT. -
Which makes absolutely no sense since the team ran zone blocking 50% of the time last yaer

Browns Release CB Joe Haden; Signed By Steelers
thebandit27 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How has Gilmore not been nearly as good as Haden? I think you'll be pretty shocked if you compare their career performance -
You want to cut Miller, who was one of the most improved OLmen in the NFL last year, to start a guy that has never started a game at guard in the NFL?

No surprise there...he's definitely gone next year if they don't. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see a team like GB or Dallas interested. -
Yeah okay...there's a contingent of posters that are willing to support their claims when the legitimacy of them gets called into question. I would hardly count your contributions in this thread as nudging you toward that contingent.

Show me where I mischaracterized anyone's post. I can easily show you multiple times you've done it in this thread. https://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/195670-so-whos-your-starting-qb/page-20?do=findComment&comment=4495616 ^ nobody ever said the team is learning 2 different offenses; if you understood the implication, then you were intentionally being intellectually dishonest https://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/195670-so-whos-your-starting-qb/page-16?do=findComment&comment=4494948 ^ folks that support Tyrod starting over Peterman have never once said that he doesn't have deficiencies in his game; massive, repeated mischaracterization by you https://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/195670-so-whos-your-starting-qb/page-15?do=findComment&comment=4494389 ^ as JM rightly pointed out, he never said Tyrod was good I could probably go on, but instead I'll just wait while you show me my instances of mischaracterization. This is the first comment you've made on this topic with which I agree (at least of the ones that I've noticed--no offense)...Tyrod holds the ball waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long.

There's almost no difference between LT and RT anymore with regard to what types of defenders a guy faces. Defenses will line up their best pass rusher over whichever tackle they believe they can overwhelm; that's why players like Markus Golden, Danielle Hunter, Cliff Avril, and Cameron Wake (all of whom finished in the top 6 in sacks last year) line up on the left side of their team's DL. Regardless, there are definitely traits that favor certain positions over others. Some guys have a lower center of gravity, react quicker, and locate better moving toward the center of the OL than moving away from it, and so those guys are much better-suited to play guard. Other guys have better footwork, longer arms, and require space to locate and lock onto defenders, and thus are better-suited to play tackle.
