  1. All week I've felt like they're going to lose to Miami...so naturally I voted yes Because Bills fans
  2. 5th year option is already picked up
  3. Ok here we go: Best Poster: JohnC Most Knowledgeable: K-9/BADOL MIP: Yolo Prediction: Gunner (Watson) Hottest Take: SaviorPeterman Worst Prediction: Bandit (Chiefs will go in the tank and miss the playoffs) Funniest: Jauronimo Funniest Post: Anything Jauronimo posts Best Newcomer: Buffalo716 Best Fued: Shady vs DD TOTY: Fergy's Richard Cranium Most Courteous: dave mcbride/NoSaint Legacy: DC Tom
  4. Tell you this right now: best prediction goes to Gunner for nailing DeShaun Watson Though I'd have taken "most accurate mock draft" in a landslide ^note: this should NOT be a category; mock drafts suck. I'd for sure plug K-9 or BADOL for most knowledgeable, though P51 deserves a nod as well.
  5. There is only one retractable roof stadium in the NFL with grass--University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona... and they actually have a "floating" field Track that rolls outdoors in order to grow the grass outside. That doesn't seem like an option in WNY.
  6. I think it's a great idea The only problem I could see is that many of the award categories would fail to educe any type of consensus Though I'll advocate for JohnC, dave mcbride, and NoSaint for Most Courteous Poster In the inaugural rendition, I think all awards should go to DC Tom
  7. Wasn't there a dude in those skits named "Lacarpetron" or something like that?
  8. Could be there for J-Wash too But it does fly in the face of the idea that GMs don't scout players in person.
  9. Indeed I'm looking for more Hyde/Poyer types, hence my mention of Justin Ellis at DT. Blokes brought up Stephen Paea earlier this year, as he's another under-the-radar guy IMO.
  10. I have his AAV at $11M if he's healthy, which--to me--says he's getting $8.5M AAV I definitely wouldn't give it to him here; not when there will be options like Jimmy Smith and David Amerson in the cap casualty market
  11. I actually expect him to do just that--a la Alshon Jeffery
  12. Jeff was a Johnny-come-lately with regard to Mahomes. Blokes and I were the ones that started that train in motion in June of 2016. And as I said from that point: he's got the most raw ability in the class, and I think the upside is limitless; I also wouldn't be surprised if he struggled to adapt early on.
  13. As I have said: it's entirely possible that he has a legit source feeding him info. However, the likelihood that his source knows as much about as many different divisions of the organization as he claims is very small. I see 3 possibilities: 1) he has a legit source, but his source is at least partially slinging mud 2) he has a legit source, but the info is limited and so DD himself is slinging mud in the absence of any additional info 3) DD is simply bored and slinging mud for fun
  14. If you want a solid player that will come in under the going rate (a la Micah Hyde), Justin Ellis from Oakland might fit the bill. he'll get dogged because their run D has been so horrid, but that's more an issue of lacking solid LBs and being VERY small at the EDGE spots. I think Bennie Logan is a good get as well, but my guess is that he gets PAID
  15. Not to mention that apparently this scouting staff is the first ever to rate players from 0-100, and not from 1.0-9.0 or 1.0-8.0 as has been done for decades.
  16. I will be pretty surprised if Downing takes the equivalent of an intern's role with the team after being an OC at the NFL level. Again I say: you could very well have a person feeding you info; some of the things they've told you make very little sense to me.
  17. He would be the most expensive and overqualified QCC in the history of the position Just sayin'
  18. The 2 baddest sauces I've ever made: Bourbon sauce - goes great on anything, but especially great on some panko-crusted and shallow-fried chicken 1/4 cup each Dijon mustard, bourbon, and brown sugar 2 tbsp soy sauce 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce ^combine in a saucepan over low heat and stir until smooth. cube up 1-1/2 sticks of unsalted butter, and add a few pieces at a time over very low heat until incorporated done Medieval Black pepper sauce - violently complex, spicy, acidic, meaty. Perfect for red meat with lots of herbs. 2 slices plain white bread toasted until utterly black 2/3 cup cider vinegar and water (equal parts of each to make a total of 2/3 cup) 2 tbsp red wine vinegar 2 tbsp ground black pepper 1/4 tsp cardamom ^soak bread in the liquids listed above until it falls apart into mush, then mash it with a fork. Add the spices and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Cut in beef stock until it reaches the consistency you desire.
  19. So you think that Washington is going to tag Cousins, rescind the tag, and then he signs with Buffalo? They would get no compensation in that scenario.
  20. I think you may have missed the point of my post. The process you are discussing with Cousins does not in any way mirror the process by which Washington acquired Josh Norman. You are saying that Cousins will be tagged and traded in this scenario (which could definitely happen). That is not what happened with Norman. Norman was tagged, had the tag rescinded, and then signed with Washington as an UFA.
  21. 2 points here: 1) nobody is acting like it cannot be done; in fact, I pointed out the only way that it can be done. 2) Washington most certainly did not do it with Josh Norman. Norman got the tag in Carolina, and then they rescinded the tag, making him an UFA, at which point he signed with Washington. I don't believe any franchise player has been traded in quite some time. It may be that Jared Allen was the last one.
  22. So I assume then that they're going to tag Cousins and trade him? Because they can't trade him until after the start of the new league year, and they can't trade him unless he's under contract. They also can't sign him to a new deal (that, say, Buffalo negotiated with him with Washington's permission) in order to trade him, since there's the chance that Buffalo would back out of the deal, plus there are cap ramifications resulting from trading a player with unpaid guarantees. It would have to be a tag and trade.
  23. That's especially true when you're drafting late in the 1st round.
  24. I gave it a 4 out of 5 Solid movie Speaking in generalities for anyone that hasn't seen it: I felt that the respective demises of certain characters were underwhelming, and I was really looking for more depth and backstory with characters like Kylo (and the other knights of Ren), Snoke, and Phasma.
  25. Just so I'm clear... per your source, they're either: Signing Cousins Trading for Alex Smith Acquiring one of the Minnesota QBs Signing Drew Stanton Drafting a QB Going with Peterman or maybe something else. I understand that it's entirely possible for you to know someone in the know, but laying out a dozen different scenarios that could happen and calling it a scoop is difficult to take seriously
