  1. IMO, when you can get out there and do something you love and take your mind off the pain--even for a short while, you do it. It can go either way though, some guys (like Brett Favre after his father died) can take that emotion and turn it into the game of their lives (I happened to be playing against him in fantasy that week too ), others--like Stevie Johnson after his mother passed--struggle to overcome the emotions and are unproductive. Either way, the kid wants to play; I personally plan to scream my head off for him when he walks on the field, makes a catch, gets shown on the scoreboard, etc.
  2. I think the worst position group in wet weather is the DL--they don't know the snap count, and then they have to anchor against a bunch of 300-pounders that have momentum.
  3. I think Sam is probably going to get moved if he doesn't assimilate to Housely's system. As for the farm system, there's high hopes for Nylander, Middelstadt, and Asplund, but the depth doesn't look great right now.
  4. Not true at all. Dean Metropoulos came in strong at the end (I've heard as high as $1.3B)
  5. He went directly for the head Dirty hit Period
  6. That was a remarkably dirty hit Shameful
  7. I feel like I read somewhere that "Exaggeration is a tool of the mentally unprepared in battle of wits"
  8. Chan Gailey used to use the crack toss a LOT--that's one of the reasons that he liked Donald Jones and David Nelson as WRs.
  9. Gaines missed more games in 2015 than Emmitt did in his entire career.
  10. On the field, he'd fit in pretty well, yeah. Off the field, I'm not so sure...he's got a reputation as a hot head (which, consequently, is why he fit in so well with Seattle)
  11. If anyone, the street FA I'd be targeting would be Nolan Carroll. I'd also be thinking about flipping a conditional pick to Seattle for the recently-benched Jeremy Lane--he's got experience in a zone scheme, has nice long arms, and is a capable tackler.
  12. He's still facing a 2-game suspension that has not yet been served. He's of no help in the short-term even if he does pass a physical.
  13. I thought the same--Tyrod is actually middle of the pack in IAY, so perhaps a better name for what they're terming "aggressiveness" would be "COV%"--meant to represent throws that challenge tight coverage.
  14. Gaines has had one solid season, one season lost completely to injury, one bad season, and one solid quarter-season that includes leaving every game with an injury and missing one game entirely. I refuse to let this boil down to a Watkins discussion, but his availability is tantamount to Ripken-esque in comparison to Gaines'
  15. I like the way Gaines has played, but the fact that he gets hurt in literally every game that he plays is extremely concerning.
  16. Plus, this will be the 2nd time that Hue has jockeyed for control over the roster and had it go downhill. He's a very good OC, but as a HC, he doesn't seem to hit the mark.
  17. As I said above, Palmer's decline came a half-year after I expected (which is why I was fairly certain they were going to take Mahomes at 13 if he was on the board). Cousins would be interesting for them, as would Sam Bradford.
  18. What??? They have a shortage of talent at WR, but aside from that, they're solid all the way around. I predicted that Palmer would nosedive last year, so his decline isn't surprising, but c'mon. They have David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, a solid OL that's suffered some injuries, and two decent TEs. The defense sports one of the best back-7's in football.
  19. That's not an accurate stat--didn't Derek Anderson win a game here with Cleveland going 2/17?
  20. Yeah--the first clip was intended to serve as an example of him making solid initial contact, which is when he's at his best.
  21. I just finished watching the game replay, and here are my thoughts on Vlad: He was much better this week overall--I'd even say he was passable at guard. When he makes solid contact with his initial push, he's fairly effective. https://twitter.com/Cover_1_/status/922599556734488583 His problem is that he's hit-or-miss in making contact, and when he doesn't, it's a shitshow. Great example here: https://twitter.com/Cover_1_/status/922615996229275653 He's also dreadful when he's cut-blocking on the backside in OZ (as well as when trying to locate while pulling). One thing I was impressed with was his patience in pass protection. He did a nice job of letting the interior rush come to him, though he really, really struggled to reset himself and often got pushed back into Tyrod's lap.
  22. I'd prefer you donate the money--I promise I don't need it. Since you've got all this spare time and interest in my scouting ability, go ahead and look through my post history...then feel free to come back and tell me whether you think I know what I'm talking about.
  23. Thanks for the snarky "advice". You'd have a fraction of a point in calling me out if (a) this were the first time I've looked at film and made an evaluation or (b) you had the gumption to make them yourself I don't expect you to know or care, but if you're going to call someone out for not knowing their stuff, it's worth taking a second and looking into whether or not your claim has merit (maybe take a look at the board during draft time). I'd also caution you against claiming some kind of high ground based on a single game, hot shot. I am, however, looking forward to seeing if Vlad can continue to improve, because I'd rather be wrong and win than be right and lose.
