  1. Daboll has had some great game plans. Yesterday was most certainly not one of them. As I've said: Allen isn't ready to carry the offense without a very strong group of playmakers around him. If Goff and Mahomes can't do it, why do we expect Allen to handle it? Further, we especially shouldn't expect it in a timing-based offense built around precision execution from a group of below-average pass catchers. If this team wants to win games this year, they're going to have to make a concerted effort to get Josh in a rhythm early to loosen teams up, then work the run and PA attack. It's the only way to both take advantage of Josh's efficient intermediate game and overcome their lack of playmaking talent in the passing game.
  2. Looks like he's trying way too hard to put air under the ball and needs to just let it rip.
  3. I don't know about Sharpe football, but for Football Outsiders (for example), Success Rate takes into account down and distance
  4. Robert Woods is f**king crazy
  5. Did I touch a nerve or something? There's no "gotcha" here. Yes, the comment was about the fans being able to admit something about the QB. Is there some arena of life where we admit things that aren't accepted as true? Because otherwise the implication is pretty clear that what we're being asked to admit is true. Was that too deep? Too offensive? I assume not. Either way I'll move on at this point.
  6. So in response to the question about the player, you made a comment about the fans. You can see why that's not as clear as you intended.
  7. Huh. So when someone asks at what point we conclude that Allen isn't good, and you reply with "don't hold your breath" and reference EJ, what exactly were you implying?
  8. Lamar isn't playing lights out for the record, but your point is quite valid. The reality, IMO, is that they're all good young QBs that are going through the growth curve right now. It's definitely what you implied by responding to the post that you quoted
  9. So 16 games is enough then?
  10. I think folks need to confront the idea that this season was not about going all-in to develop Josh even if it meant losing winnable games. It was (and is) about fielding the most competitive team possible while using the proverbial clubs in Josh's golf bag to score enough points to win games, hoping all the while that Josh would develop along the way.
  11. There is absolutely nothing wrong with criticizing Allen's play yesterday--he did not play well. I also don't think that you're going to see a "put the team on his back" style performance from him this season. He's hit the point where DCs have a season's worth of tape on him, which is typically where we see the growing pains occur. Absent a Rams/Chiefs style supporting cast, I don't expect huge offensive output. I think that we should expect a bumpy ride where progress is neither linear nor predictable, but evident nevertheless.
  12. I probably would say C- to perhaps a C Missed some throws, had ball security issues, and wasn't able to put the team on his back. That said, this was one of those games where he kind of looked like the team's only capable offensive player amidst a brutal game plan.
  13. Careful...I suggested this idea before the season and was told by a mod that I knew nothing in comparison to the coaching staff and should shut my mouth about it.
  14. This defense is completely outclassed today
  15. Not happy that Slick is inactive
  16. Wonder if the desperate Eagles will run the Philly Special today...
  17. I'm 100% certain that they're desperate. I'm also certain that it won't be the determining factor in today's game.
  18. I wouldn't count on it. This is a really tough place to play for a visiting QB, especially one that's making his first ever start here. Certainly could happen, but it would be surprising.
  19. Sure there were great wins? That's your characterization of a 4-year run where literally no team could keep them out of the Super Bowl? What a tragically dumb take
  20. I have a weird feeling that the Bills' D will go as the safeties go today. Good day for Poyer/Hyde = sound victory
  21. Aside from being the best 4th quarter QB and best red zone QB in the NFL, you're right, he's done nothing to distinguish himself ?
  22. Yeah, generally the "rest" note means just a vet rest day.
  23. Yeah, that was pretty much my point in replying to the post that said we were 5-1 but hadn't beaten anyone good
  24. They'd be 6-0 if 4TH QUARTER JOSH hadn't been scum-bagged out of the game against NE.
  25. Could be fun with 2 run-game oriented coaches and 2 big-armed QBs
