  1. Im not on drugs. Ralph Wilson overtly said that Brandon would oversee the football department. It was during the Nix press conference. I know they tried to appease everybody by saying that they wanted a football guy/not a marketing guy, etc... But Wilson's senility spilled out the truth in a very telling moment. Here it is. Listen from :40 to the 2:00 mark http://audio.wgr550.com/m/audio/28155136/b...-conference.htm
  2. Brandon still runs the football department. Ralph Wilson said so blankly. He is also the name you see people refer to when they speak of the coaching search.
  3. it was a smokescreen. Brandon still calls the shots on the football side of things. Ralph said as much in that press conference.
  4. they did nothing to change the front office.
  5. I dont think we are going to really see any decent free agent signings here
  6. the problem I have is that nothing was done to the front office at all. Russ Brandon still calls the shots for the football department.
  7. It doesnt really give a coach much reason to think he could make a name for himself when you have a smarmy prick like Russ Brandon making decisions based on his intuition and also executing the bidding of Wilson, Littman, and Overdorf without question. Its not an atmosphere that allows for much success. Just look at TO when he got the key to the city and what he promised.... he would finally take the Bills to the playoffs.... Wow, such lofty goals. the whole front office is garbage, and has only gotten worse as Russ Brandon ascends. Russ Brandon will not be gone until Ralph Wilson no longer owns the team. Coaches dont not want to come to Buffalo because the weather, economy, rec activities, etc... this has never really been a problem before, and there definitely has not been a gigantic 3-year decline in Buffalo that would sway potential coaches. They do not want to come here because of the front office. The same front office a lot of us wanted overhauled. Even before Jauron should have been canned. They did nothing to the front office other than a BS smokescreen GM "hiring".
  8. i got a bills email. I got excited, but it was just Jim Kelly's thoughts on playoff games. I think that is a smoke screen to the big news. Ralph is adopting Russ Brandon and leaving him the Bills
  9. you cant see that nothing has happened? Jauron took the fall and the front office is fundamentally the same. The reshuffled the chairs a little and Brandon still oversees the football department in the big "shake-up". The shake up was just an attempt at PR to give people an excuse to try to look for the positive. Everyone is saying NO to the Bills. This is very telling. It isnt because of Buffalo's economy or that it is too cold. It is management with a winning being a low priority. We are going to get a coordinator who feels he NEEDS a hc job, the first crappy year will be chalked up to rebuilding and learning the system, the second crappy year we will hear all about "continuity", and the third year, this new HC will take the fall for the inept front office again and his contract wont be retained.... Then we will be having this same conversation.
  10. Wilson said as much in the Nix press conference. He said that Brandon would oversee the football operations as well.
  11. IT starts at the top. If ralph wilson was serious about turning this team around, there would have been a true cleansing of the front office. Instead there was a half assed shake up. The other main problem, Russ Brandon actually got a promotion. So it is obvious that a HC coming in will not be given the tools to succeed.
  12. He would demand too high of a salary and he would actually say yes to the Bills
  13. pretty convenient and clean to blame the guy who is gone
  14. the Sabres do it right. Very proud of the organization. People hate on Golisano, Regier, Quinn, and Ruff..... however I think they have done a marvelous job and there can be no better sitch for the Sabres
  15. jw... can you post the article now where Wilson coherently says that they are committed to building a winner and in doing so, they are trying to hammer out some details with Bill Cowher?
  16. this is what the cynic in me suggests and I am not ruling it out. Ill hold my judgement until we see who the actual HC is. I am unimpressed with the recent "changes" in the front office. If somehow a deal is announced with Cowher, every negative feeling I have toward the Bills is proven completely untrue. If they get some shite... it doesnt matter at all who was interviewed
  17. is he serious about this? Is there any more specifics in what he is planning to do here?
  18. my point is, you just dont know for sure. Especially with dealing with undefeated teams. It isnt that much of a stretch to think Boise State could beat Alabama. I would definitely put money on Alabama if there was no line. But I would love to see that game. the mid majors have definitely proved over the past few years that the gap is much, much less than it has historically been.
  19. Just like Utah last year...
  20. Philly has to play in its share of cruddy weather. McNabb is also from Chicago I believe. The guy is a warrior and weather has never been a factor for him.
  21. I soooooo want to see the news come down that the Bills and Cowher have agreed to a deal. It is so much more than just finding the HC. Its a really good HC. The move will send shockwaves around the AFC East and the NFL. People counted the Bills out and now they would be VERY relevant. In order to bring Cowher here, they would have had to prove to him that winning is the #1 priority here and they are willing to do and spend what it takes to win and provide Cowher with an atmosphere where winning Super Bowls is possible. I would be very excited to be a Bills fan
  22. when I hear people (idiot fans) B word and cry about McNabb... I always provide the response: "Id take him on the Bills any day of the week". All the guy does is win. He is tough and leaves blood on the field... a real competitor and leader.
  23. With knives, we should have carved Cowher's name on our chests for the Indy game.
  24. I dont think it is undisputed. Im disputing it. Boise State would have a shot at beating Alabama. They deserve a shot. Nobody thought they had a chance against the Sooners in the Fiesta Bowl a few years ago. Also, Utah smoked Alabama last season which was very unexpected. It is maddening to think about how awesome the bowl/playoff system in NCAA Football can be.
