  1. agreed....not to sound elitist, but TBD has lost some of its' luster ....too many people shooting from the hip and re-posting nearly identical brainchild ideas. Embarrassing.
  2. no kidding Dawk ...... I don't know who is worse, WGR callers or some of the brainiacs who come up with hare-brained ideas every day, ad nauseum, here ....
  3. as if he had control over a medical diagnosis in which he was told MAJOR ORGANS are stressed to the point of dysfunction. Better to have this happen now than post-draft or later, for that matter I am in agreement with your first 2 plans but NOT the "rebuillding" option. A QB in the 2nd or 3rd round is not the solution. Seems like you are OK with having it both ways which is not a strategy.
  4. this crusade you are on (.....established after multiple posts espousing not going hard after one of the current, top QBs) is not resonating with me - at all. The kick the can down the road approach will lead us nowhere except middling (or worse) records, resulting in being stuck in draft purgatory. Per the bolded, are you serious? The dropoff in 2018 QB draft class vs. 2019 is more than huge. To not land a top QB (if possible) this year borders on irresponsibility and malfeasance. To wit, looking at 2019 QBs.........meh, not so much http://walterfootball.com/draft2019QB.php
  5. dude with all due respect, I think you are really off the mark with this one; it's not a money issue or "saving face"......if someone says his kidneys and liver are failing, we need to take him at his word. It's a health and quality of life issue. A few extra bucks does not change this reality.
  6. link please, or is this another of your ill-fated attempts at humor ? N.B., the all caps and inane exclamation points really got my attention......not
  7. The last I saw him at was 6'3" and 211 lbs. I think with the proper nutrition & training he can easily get up to 220. Agreed on the Wonderlic, not a deal-breaker for me though.
  8. very doubtful to me that Rudolph or Jackson will last until the 2nd, even though some may not have 1st rd grades on them.
  9. I hear you to a certain degree. I just think there is a confirmation bias in some circles on this board that if a QB is black and can run, he's not a prototypical QB. If you watch video of Jackson, he stands tall in the pocket, goes through his reads head up, and morphed into scrambling/breaking the pocket only when the play was totally breaking down around him.
  10. Good post ......If I didn't have the belief in McBeane that I do, I would not be on board with Jackson at 12. They have earned that belief with a surgical, methodical, & laser-focused vision & execution the likes of which we have not seen at OBD in a long, long time
  11. I am in agreement, and surely will get flamed for it. There is a poster in this thread who still posits his value as that of "a running QB". Dude passed for 3,543 yards in 2016 and 3,660 in 2017 - while leading the entire country in rate of dropped passes. Catch half those dropped balls and the completion % narrative changes. He did all this while running the E/P offense. The comparisons to Tyrod and Mike Vick really need to stop.
  12. plus the use of italics makes this a captivating hot take......this is the best though: "NOT SO!! NOT SO AT ALL! "
  13. Similar to your screen name, you strike me as the type of guy who, if he was HC, would punt from the other team's 20 yard line.
  14. C'mon man, nit-picking spelling? Now you're doubling down and digging yourself a bigger hole. Misspelling takes a back seat, for example, to Kizer being the Browns QB
  15. this is the cost of doing business for a top-shelf QB in today's NFL......and it's exactly why the Bills have wisely accrued extra draft picks in anticipation of this year's QB class. Not sure why, but it seems like you don't understand this. Think of it this way: "In microeconomic theory, the opportunity cost, also known as alternative cost, is the value (not a benefit) of the choice of a best alternative cost while making a decision. A choice needs to be made between several mutually exclusive alternatives; assuming the best choice is made, it is the "cost" incurred by not enjoying the benefit that would have been had by taking the second best available choice. The notion of opportunity cost plays a crucial part in attempts to ensure that scarce resources are used efficiently. Thus, opportunity costs are not restricted to monetary or financial costs: the real cost of output forgone, lost time, pleasure or any other benefit that provides utility should also be considered an opportunity cost." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opportunity_cost
  16. seriously, please go away......quit while you're behind
  17. yes it sure seems that way ....... posting "Lady in Red" was weak sauce
  18. 2 minutes in the penalty box for: 1) spelling the dude's last name with an apostrophe - WTF? 2) making a completely unfounded take
