  1. Where will you be when they do put in Fitz or Brohm and they play better? Posts like this are comical to me. Why do you feel like people have to answer to you for being optimistic? Someone who has posted almost 2,300 times on a Bills site, wants people to bow down to him when they play bad. Wow.
  2. I assure you the Bills scouts are watching every one of his games, and they are watching right now. Just because they don't tell us what they think of Mallet doesn't mean they aren't forming their opinion just as we are. This discussion is completely valid and watching Mallet is relevant.
  3. Not only is it hard to believe Trent is a trash talker, but what trash could he talk? "yeah, and there's 42 more yards coming in the second half, make sure that chin strap is extra tight"
  4. Wood has that nasty mentality for sure and I think Levitre has it in him. Urbik is the only other lineman we have that fits the "nasty description". If we can get Urbik into the starting lineup we'd have a good start at having that kind of identity.
  5. I think it's sad that after one game, I'm already not excited to watch them play. I didn't think I'd be this disappointed this soon. Although I think the future is in better hands with the current regime, it's going to take time to revamp this entire team. It's difficult to find the excitement knowing this is where we are, because it's where we've been for so long. But somehow we have to muster enough encouragement to give the new regime an opportunity to change it. It's gonna be a long season.
  6. Dear Trent, Please don't do just enough this season for the Bills not to draft a QB in the first round.
  7. Really? Name one state predominantly ran by democrats that is doing well? I live in North Carolina and it's had a major influx of "Northerners" move here. The same that's happened to Florida and why it's dying a slow financial death. They are from NY, PA, Ohio, Michigan, etc. Well we are driving the people born here nuts because the Northerners have come down here and voted for the same type of policies that have ruined the states we came from. Hello.
  8. You think I've over analyzed? So you're theory is his hair is the reason he won't throw down field? Thanks for the insight, I didn't think about his baking prowess might be the reason.
  9. I think he has, as have his other coaches calling the plays. He won't do it. Hence I believe he has a mental block that comes over him.
  10. I think Trent Edwards has a form of Chuck Knoblauch syndrome, sometimes referred to as "the Yips" - "Steve Sax disease" - and "Steve Blass disease". I'm not being facetious, I mean this in all seriousness. The definition of this disease or syndrome is: the apparent loss of certain fine motor skills seemingly without explanation in one of a number of different sports. Sometimes they recover their ability, sometimes they compensate by changing technique, or may be forced to abandon their sport at the highest level. After doing a bit of research there have been many athletes in all different kind of sports that have been effected by this syndrome, and at the highest levels. I liken it to "stage fright". Someone that can sing in the shower, but can't get in front of an audience. Even if the audience is a karaoke bar and the person has the words right in front of them and has sang that song a million times in their head. To me there's a distinction between Edwards and a QB that can't play. That distinction is that we have seen him play well. We saw it in the early games of 2008 and in pre season. So we know the ability is there. Then after several hard hits and concussions the guy just lost all ability? I don't believe that. I think he's got a mental block. Heck even the national media is baffled at why he won't throw the ball. It has to be puzzling Gailey as well. He saw the guy flat out win the job with an admitted open competition. Then he goes out with real bullets flying and performs like that. I truly believe it is pure stage fright and a "loss of certain fine motor skills seemingly without explanation."
  11. For the most part I agree with what you've said. But I'd like to ask a question. What is so wrong with saying Woman reporters aren't allowed in the locker room? Why can't it be said that it's inappropriate, because there are men changing in this area? Why does it have to be sexist to say that?
  12. I'm not sure I understand the Tampa 2 part of your argument, and how it translates to the Defensive Ends. I think it's a 4-3 vs 3-4 discussion.
  13. This is exactly right. I don't hate the guy because he doesn't have the skill set to be spectacular. He's a real good run stopping end in a 4-3. The fans that hate Kelsay need to be upset with the organization for not upgrading. Dude gives maximum effort and plays with heart, he's just not a great player, nothing personal against him. I will say he looked awful out there Sunday on 5-6 plays, which is too many.
  14. He looked bad at the line of scrimmage a couple of times too. One play I can remember is a delayed run, where his job was to contain and seal the edge. He got caught up inside, not even engaged with an offensive player, but just not in the right position, and the RB took it outside for a big gain. He of course (like he always does) ran like heck after the guy and I believe was part of the tackle.
  15. Very well said d2d. Watching the replay of that injury, you quickly forget all about rivalries. Seeing a person go through that much pain stinks.
  16. I think your exactly right. I wrote in another post I think he has Chuck Knoblauch Syndrome. And I'm not being facetious. I think he has a mental block stemming from the many hits and blows to the head, and he mentally can't get the ball out of his hands to go down field. He obviously has the ability, we've seen it in real games in 2008, and in preseason many times. But at this point you can't defend his play, I think he's mentally finished.
  17. I sort of have to disagree. You know those personality quadrants in sociology? My company uses a test called the Caliper to determine if a person is a fit for a particular position. They ask all kinds of direct and indirect questions determining a person's characteristics and then it matches your answers to a personality type. These tests are acutely accurate. Everyone always has some of the other personality traits, but most certainly there's always a dominant portion of one. You can teach leadership to some level, but never to the level where they become a different personality. Or at least a genuine product. You are right about him being smart and tough. You literally have to be at this level. But I think he's got Chuck Knoblauch syndrome (seriously). He won't throw the ball down field and I believe whole heartedly it is a mental block issue.
