  1. This is what's been lacking on our team for years. Opposing teams had no reason to respect us in the middle of the field, other than Josh Reed, who isn't that good at going across the back of the zone. His underneith patterns are awesome, but until we saw Steve Johnson flash across the back of the zone a few times towards the end of the season, I really can't remember the last seam runner or deep crossing receiver that we've had. Hopefully Johnson + a new TE this year will be the answer that we've been looking for to spread out the zone.
  2. "no undersized linebackers dropping to a spot and no safeties playing close to 20 yards off the line of scrimmage. No rushing the passer with your front four on third downs and playing coverage behind it, and no middle linebacker running down the middle of the field trying to keep up with a slot receiver who runs a 4.3 in the 40." Wow...The story of the last 4 years of Bills defense.
  3. I thought that he did his job well in the run game as well as a decent job of pass rushing. However, when in coverage, he wasn't good. I don't know enough about him when he was with NYG to say that he regressed in that area, but he was downright bad this year. One of the factors was probably a lack of pass rush from the front 4 when he was in coverage, but regardless, he needs to get better in this aspect. I'd agree with your assessment that he was a solid starter this year and an upgrade from last year, but I'd like to see him work on pass coverage this offseason.
  4. Exactly. We have better return men than him, plus, our young corners are probably just as good. I never understood the draw to his skills that some people have. He's just a media whore because he's always in trouble.
  5. The only positive from the article: "....with Melvin Fowler, Duke Preston and Jason Whittle set to become unrestricted free agents."
  6. Good point. Anyone who has a shot at being drafted, especially on the first day, will probably make alot more this year than waiting on it, and having to deal with the new CBA.
  7. Check out the game by game receiving stats: RECEIVING No-Yds/TD SMU 6-53/1 MEMPHIS 11-208/0 VU 12-115/0 Texas 8-51/0 NT 8-92/0 TULSA 9-120/1 USM 7-113/2 TLN 6-51/2 UTEP 12-142/3 ARMY 6-62/0 MARSHALL 7-38/0 HOU 12-172/3 WMU 7-112/1 Impressive considering he also rushed 57 times for 241yds & 6TDs.
  8. Honestly, I look at the 4 teams that are left, and I could root for any of them on any given day (except if they're playing the Bills). They are 4 teams that have worked hard all season and haven't been in the ESPN limelight like the Giants, Jets, Pats, Dolphins, or Cowboys. It makes me smile that ESPN is probably hating the fact that markets like Baltimore, Philly (big, but still blue collar), Pittsburgh, and AZ are in it and the above (whom have eaten up most of the time on Sportcenter this year) aren't. Not sure how I feel about the Phoenix market or fanbase yet, but at least it isn't New York, Boston, Miami, or Dallas.
  9. He's actually one of the bright spots on the team when he's healthy and in shape. I hope that we can negotiate a new contract with him and he can attend all offseason workouts. For anyone who was watching, he did actually look good this year as the season progressed. He had some breakdowns (just like the other 31 LT's in the league), but is still better than any LT coming out of college.
  10. There's also too many Melvin Fowlers & Robert Royals.
  11. Landslide in NY: Giants 34 Eagles 17
  12. I love how they show him getting sacked over and over again. Thats how the fans will remember him, too.
  13. I agree (although I'm not as passionate in my hatred for the Gators) that he's not going to have the success in the NFL as a QB or as a runner. He's about the size of Schouman or Teddy Lehman, so probably the best place to put him would be TE or H Back, but it's going to be funny the first time he tries to lower his shoulder against an NFL linebacker. The announcers should already be practicing their "Welcome to the NFL, kid" speech for him the first time he gets flattened when he does that.
  14. I saw that too. I had to rewind it to make sure that it was really it, but it was. It actually depressed me because that was the first game of the season and the Bills played nearly perfect. So much optimism for the season after watching the first few games.
  15. I tried to find the real one but that's all I could get. I do remember that hit that you're talking about and it was a good one!
  16. You mean this hit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGpNJGQugfM...=1&index=20
