  1. It means the Democrats really want Congress to burn in 2014.
  2. I thought they already did one about you:
  3. Watch some network news and then tell me if you actually think it goes without saying.
  4. They still won't confirm that. I think the last time an interviewer asked Bowie about his sexuality, he said something to the effect of, "I did a lot of stuff with my dick in the 70's. !@#$ off and quit asking me about it."
  5. Read it again. Abductions by family members number in the six figures each year. Abductions of infants from health care facilities by strangers number 128 from 1983 through 2011. The point is that the idea that strangers are out to get your kids is almost wholly false.
  6. In turn, to be fair to Jack, there are a lot of abductions of children by family members every year. We're talking six figures. That's why nobody's allowed to remove the child without clearance.
  7. I wouldn't quite call it an "issue," to be fair. From 1983 to 2011, there were 128 abductions of infants from health care facilities by strangers.
  8. Most Hollywood guys probably do/did, if you get right down to it.
  9. Nice reference. Patrick, stop calling me pumpkin.
  10. I think he's getting at a conflict of interest, Adam.
  11. Ahem. It's, "Send lawyers, guns, and money...dad, get me out of this! Hyahhh!"
  12. It's still Gary Cooper for me.
  13. That doesn't surprise me. Thanks for the heads-up, it's been a while since I played around with that data.
  14. Aaaand that dude from The Artist wins Best Actor. Anybody see this movie? I didn't, but I did see The Descendants and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I'm not usually a big Clooney fan, but his performance was amazing. Same for Gary Oldman in Tinker Tailor. HOLY **** STREEP DIDN'T GET SNUBBED. This makes tonight's wasted hours halfway worthwhile.
  15. Highway robbery. Highway robbery everywhere. Can't wait for Glenn Close and Meryl Streep to get snubbed. I didn't realize people liked "The Help" so much. I thought that movie was awful.
  16. The problem is that the Federal crime stats (UCR in particular) rely on local police reports to the government. That means more paperwork and more time committed to it by local officers, time that could be used to hit the streets instead. And really - how many cops do you know that would rather do paperwork than be out on patrol or assignment?
  17. I realize this is being nitpicky, but I think this is incorrect. I think burial is the preferred method, although I'm pretty sure the Quran doesn't provide any explicit instructions to that point.
  18. The federal government really only collects extensive data on homicides in the U.S. It's possible that they collect citizenship status for other crimes as well, but it doesn't seem likely to me.
  19. He's a county court judge. Who gives a **** about what he thinks?
  20. Yeah, and I'm glad someone aside from Tolkien decided to tell the story.
  21. Oh good, it's time for Booster's bimonthly bender. Also: awesome alliteration.
  22. I was up in your neck of the woods (Schenectady) today and heard the thunder around 5. I almost went looking for the GE plant to ask people "anybody know a wino supervisor?"
  23. I don't know, I'm 20 and some days I just feel like going to bed at 8. Maybe every day is like that for older folks. You just get tired faster.
