  1. I must be no one
  2. Think of this ... a week before last year's season opener our starting safeties were Pierson Prioleau and Izell Reese, with Coy Wire also in the mix. For awhile at the beginning of this year, we had Reese and Wire out there, with Prioleau also in the mix, since Milloy was hurt and Rashad Baker hadn't yet come on. Now we have Lawyer Milloy and Troy Vincent patrolling the middle of the field. Dare I say it's the best safety combination I've seen since Carnell Lake and Rod Woodson kicked ass and took names in Pittsburgh? These guys have a chance to be something special. And with McGee coming on (he seems to be picking off passes regularly now even though some of them are getting called back) and Clements playing at a Pro Bowl level, I wonder if we don't have the best secondary in the NFL right now. We've come a long way, folks.
  3. Wants upon a time...
  4. I thought he already conceeded that.
  5. I might remind you that the Bills will be playing against the defense that gave up 48 points to the Cleveland Browns. Yes, that's right: the Browns scored almost three times as many points against the Bungles as they had yards against the Bills.
  6. They did show it on TV, btw.
  7. While your last statement is more or less true, I hope you're not saying that Wade and especially Greggo were great coaches. At any rate, if Gray and/or Clements get HC jobs, you would think that (1) the Bills have enough talent on either side of the ball to attract topnotch replacements (assuming they don't promote from within), and (2) Mularkey is secure enough in his position that hiring a high-profile coordinator from somewhere else won't pose an ego problem for him.
  8. I agree. I think people expect him to be a blatant Buffalo homer and whenever he says anything complimentary about the other team or misses an opportunity to say something good about the Bills, people say he's bending over backward to prove he's not a homer. Just like when ESPN's PrimeTime doesn't give us 30 minutes of coverage people get all bent out of shape without realizing that there are 31 other NFL teams for christ's sake. I wonder how Tasker feels getting assigned to the Bills week in and week out. That can't be good for his credibility as an analyst, so I don't blame him for trying to be balanced. That said, it's time for Criqui to hang up his microphone. At one point he was a rising star at NBC and, I think, was doing the #1 game of the week with Trumpy. Now that he's been relegated to the back bench like Brent Musburger and so many others, he seems to be mailing in his efforts.
  9. It wasn't limited to the game announcers. Greg "Bryant" Gumbel said at halftime that McGee's end zone interception was wiped out by an offsides on "Matt" Schobel.
  10. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: Miami. I'd rather they got blown out by fifty than lose by three if that's what happens.
  11. Dan Henning.
  12. How did it go from $3000 to $3700 down?
  13. Dave Behrman, the Bills' first draft pick. I delivered pizzas with his son Dave Jr. at Mr. Shoes in East Rochester in the late 1980s. His other son Mike was an all-Ivy tight end at Princeton in 1986. They took somewhat different paths in life, I'd have to say.
  14. Mike Liut of the Blues.
  15. He's been fortunate to play in one system since day one.
  16. I think we should do this in Name Game fashion. Carl Byrum.
  17. From a Globe article on the Weis-ND talks: Even if Weis stays through the NFL season, he'll certainly have other things on his mind. Plus I'm pretty sure the Browns didn't make the playoffs that year, so Saban had a good month or more before the signing period started -- that won't be true in this case.
  18. Hopefully the deal is that Weis leaves NE now.
  19. My favorite Price number? 63 yards after the catch. On 29 receptions. Meanwhile, Evans has 122 YAC on the same number of receptions.
  20. Ding ding ding we have a winner. That was one of the most disgraceful moments in Bills history. From Don Beebe running down Leon Lett from 40 yards away to save a touchdown in an unwinnable game, to Peerless Price jawing at Dewayne Washington from two feet away for 40 yards in a close game... that just symbolized how far the franchise had fallen in just a few short years. I'm so glad he's gone.
  21. Well... he did mention a mineral in his post, didn't he? Nickel?
  22. Did someone say football?
  23. November 6. And my birthday: Hot For Teacher
  24. Before they started blacking out the Syracuse station because about five square miles of its broadcast area lay within the blackout zone, my dad and I would drive to Wayne County and catch the game at either Coach's or Flaherty's on Route 31 in Macedon. (Coach's is where we saw the Comeback.) Now I usually listen on the radio. If I can get away with it, I drive around in my car while listening to the game so I don't get sucked into a Honey Do project "because you're not watching the game."
