  1. I live in Pittsford and my daughter goes to a private school that, while it is certainly predominantly white, is a good deal more diverse than the elementary schools in the Pittsford school district. I grew up in Penfield and when I went to college (at an Ivy), there were a hell of a lot more minorities there than there ever were in my high school. KD, I agree -- that comment IS moronic.
  2. I wouldn't care if he had the facial expression of an android as long as he could make 28-yarders with the season on the line.
  3. Well, that's true. In all seriousness, though: Rochester wouldn't be nearly as good a place to live without the Bills and Sabres nearby... and Buffalo wouldn't have the Bills and Sabres without Rochester. See? We need each other.
  4. Doesn't THIS quote sound familiar, though:
  5. I can't believe there have been five posts in this thread and not one of them is about how Rochester sucks compared to Buffalo.
  6. When the word "plate" is capitalized, it can only refer to one thing.
  7. How about we feed them all Plates, put them in a room with no ventilation, and lock the door for several hours? Last guy standing wins.
  8. I just wanted to say that buftex's post hit the nail on the head. Out.
  9. I thought he was related to Lance Parrish.
  10. I wouldn't mind taking Michael Bennett for TH. One of the problems with trading TH is that we really wouldn't have a serviceable backup if Willis went down for a game or two, or, god forbid, more. We'd have that with Bennett.
  11. Not only that, but I have a feeling that if he were ever called upon to chase down a defender who had recovered a fumble, he'd tackle the guy instead of have a nice leisurely 40-yard lunch conversation with him. That play might be the one that pissed me off the most in my 30 years of being a Bills fan, and God knows I have a long list from which to choose.
  12. Aha! That works for me, thanks! I didn't have time for the whole make-a-sandwich-and-hit-the-john routine.
  13. Could you explain it to me in 25 words or less, then?
  14. It was an excellent feature. Glad they could show another side of a man of whom my overriding memory is his getting three CONSECUTIVE leg-whipping penalties against the Cowboys. Just one small niggling point -- Miami of Ohio is, I think, a better school than USC (unless his daughter plans to play football, which I doubt).
  15. Because III sucked ass. Well, it didn't really, but compared to the first two (a high standard, to be sure) it did. Not true -- Lucas had the entire story (including the prequels) pretty much already written and/or conceptualized by the time Star Wars was filmed. He knew that in order to do the entire story justice he'd have to do it in installments -- but what he DIDN'T know was whether there would be a market for the rest of the story. I mean, if SW had bombed in 1977, it WOULD have been a standalone. Happily for geeks and nerds everywhere, it didn't bomb.
  16. Also, while The Good, The Bad and the Ugly made it, the two preceding movies in the "Man With No Name" trilogy (A Fistful of Dollars, and For a Few Dollars More) didn't.
  17. If you look again you'll see only Godfather I and II were named. Godfather III was, quite rightly, left out. The LOTR saga was included in its entirety no doubt because all three of the movies were worthy of mention. I think all but the most die-hard Star Wars fans would agree that there were at least one or two episodes out of the six that shouldn't be in anyone's top 100.
  18. Things they do look awful c-c-c-cold Hope I die before I get old No?
  19. Stripes isn't on this list. They need to go back to the drawing board. I've seen 21 of these, by the way.
  20. Never heard of him either.
  21. Boy, that's true. LT - Jonas Jennings / ? LG - Lawrence Smith / Bennie Anderson C - Trey Teague / ? RG - Chris Villarrial / Chris Villarrial RT - Mike Williams / Mike Williams WR - Eric Moulds / Eric Moulds WR - Josh Reed / Lee Evans WR - Bobby Shaw / Roscoe Parrish TE - Mark Campbell / Mark Campbell FB - Daimon Shelton / Daimon Shelton RB - Travis Henry / Willis McGahee QB - Drew Bledsoe / J.P. Losman I'm still concerned about the left side of the line, but the improvement in speed and talent at wide receiver, running back and quarterback makes a BIG difference already.
  22. There's some truth to that (especially your first sentence), but supporting GZ redevelopment plays a hell of a lot better with the voters than supporting a bigass stadium for the city's second-favorite football team. Shelly sees a political opening and takes it. Pataki would have done the same. A pox on both their houses I say.
