  1. I was watching a Yankees game with my teacher friend the other day. Derek Jeter had gone 0-5 and he said something along the lines of "So he gets $20 million a year to strike out and I get $34,000 to educate America's youth?". I said, "When 50,000 people pay to watch you teach every day, you can have $20 million". Obviously just ribbing him, but people don't seem to understand that salaries are mostly to do with scarcity.
  2. Well, that's because you're allowed to use the handicapped bathroom due to your leg injury. You should see the normal stalls.
  3. I can't stand the political banter on CNN, Fox News, etc. and I find Sorkin's writing exhaustive. From what you guys have said, doesn't sound like the show for me. Plus I don't get HBO.
  4. The general aesthetic is very nice - uncrowded and easy to read. Most sports message boards are littered with image macros.
  5. Ok, so because of all of this, he shouldn't be in a Home Run Derby? I'm not following the logic.
  6. Completely agree. Floyd can't exactly be labelled 'lazy' for skipping such a thing, as most other NFL players aren't doing organized workouts right now. But when Fitzgerald calls you out, he has his reasons.
  7. My review for The Amazing Spiderman... http://www.entertainment-bureau.com/the-amazing-spiderman-review-reviewsday-tuesday/2357
  8. Ok, so it's 4 different versions of Ralph Wilson's face. In the first one, he's grinning from ear to ear after the Bills crush the Raiders in the AFC Championship. The next face is a mixture of disappointed and distraught, following Wide Right. The third one, utter frustration - Trent Edwards finally seemed like the quarterback of the future and now he sucks too. The fourth one is in the throes of a toe-curling orgasm.
  9. I bet he likes pizza. Most people like pizza. It's pretty great.
  10. If any dog lovers aren't openly weeping after this, I'm impressed.
  11. Curious about this. He seems like a consummate gentleman and professional to me. Granted, it would be fun to see some underdogs actually win a grand slam.
  12. I'm enjoying this countdown but what happens when cuts occur?
  13. I feel compelled to step in. Not once did tgreg defend or even so much as comment on the twitter content. Your "If I say it enough times, it's true" strategy of painting him as anti-American is just wrong. Granted, he started it this time...but really, this is all unnecessary.
  14. We'll see. It's evident that I'm not going to change your mind, but to me he seems like a wilting lily in all the big moments. Of course, in typical Bills fashion he'll finally have a decent season then accept $100 million from another team.
  15. This again? I mean, sure, he's got talent. In fact, he had enough talent to redefine the position. But how many years do we have to sit around waiting for it to happen? Nothing between that guy's ears.

  17. It's funny how many similarities there are between Stevie and Chad.
  18. He's "mentioned in the same breath" as Peters because that's who he's replacing for the 2nd time. It's a relevant piece of information. http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/news/article-1/Eagles-Fortify-Tackle-Spot-With-Bell/0ea3f634-a34b-4e2d-96ab-27331d794098 And the way that article is worded, it seems as though Bell changed his name back to what it says on his birth certificate. At least, that's the impression I get.
  19. Not only talking about the people linked to in this thread, but I see this sentiment a lot. Where's the line between hating America and wanting to change it?
  20. Yeah, but let's see him do it drunk.
  21. The traditional 4th of July drinking schedule... Johnny Walker [Red], [White] Wine, and [blue] Moon
  22. "OH GOD, IT'S A COP! DID HE SEE ME DRIVING?"
  23. I guess I don't personally identify with being proud of any inherent quality. But I know plenty of people who are proud of their heritage, for example. Irish American guys running around in their leprechaun costumes on St. Patty's Day don't (typically) hurt anybody. Of course, they didn't do anything to make their grandparents Irish. They were born with it. It doesn't have to be logical.
