  1. With Al Davis passing away, Ralph Wilson will see what needs to be done with regards to the transfer of ownership, estate taxes, etc.
  2. It is all about a socio-stereotype conceived from racism. - To say Black athletes spend less time in the film room is ridiculous. There are players of all races and positions who spend that time doing film study, reviewing playbooks, in the weight room, working with coaches, etc. It is not limited to the white quarterbacks. - To say it is an intelligence thing - You only hear and speak of those who are far to the extreme. For example, Vince Young / Jamarcus Russell or on the other side Ryan Fitzpatrick. What did Moon, Cunningham, Vince Evans,Seneca Wallace get on their wondelics? Who cares, because they were initially destined to be backups, or sent to Canada. While we are on it, does anyone know what the scores were from the 83' QB class, or more recent Alex Smith v. Aaron Rodger, or any of the other white quarterbacks in the league (starters or backups) It boils down to generational precedent which has been adopted all the way from the little leagues to high school to college and on to the pros. You mean to tell me that 8 year old white kid (who is predestined to a 1600 SAT and a 38 wonderlic) is sitting in the coaches shed watching game film of the Army vs. Clarence. I think not. But yet the coach decides he is going to be his quarterback. Why...because the 8 year old black kid on the team finished suicides first or was the first one in after running the big lap, and thus he should be the running back. Forget the fact that the white kid is a stronger runner with better vision, or the black kid has a stronger arm. Until we unilaterally remove stereotypes and not prejudge, athletes will always be predetermined of what position they play based on race. There will be exceptions including Newton (others) or the Toby Gerhardt, Jason Sehorn. And when we see those players the same questions will apply with race in the front.
  3. Why would you think Tampa would trade for a quaterback. Unlike the Bills, Tampa is in the process of grooming 3 quaterbacks (Freeman the starter, Johnson & Carpenter the backups). They have no need for any of our quaterbacks. Not to mention, if anything Buffalo should trade for one of their quaterbacks.
  4. Sorry if this has been debated As I watched the first week of preseason (including that shameful performance on Friday), I started to see why the Bills have had such a hard time to replace Jim K. After the Todd Collins experiment (who I would be happy with today), the organization made a commitment to having a mobile quaterback (not running) like Rob Johnson, Doug Flutie, J.P., Trent, etc. However, what they failed to realize is that you need a quaterback who is willing to step up in the pocket with the rush coming and deliver the ball. Granted our laundry list of QB's who have taken snaps have accumalated their fair share of sacks, but for the most part that is not because they are willing to be hit to make a play, but rather because they believe they can run to evade the sack or just cant read defenses. Even in tonights game, when you look at the QB play, passes were completed (better yet attempted) down field because these guys were willing to look down field and step up and make a throw. Just my Opinion
  5. Its amazing how his stock dropped over the past couple of years while at USF, but maily because of injury. I would love to see the Bills take a late round pick on this guy. Upside is great and since we seem to be drafting on potential, it should be a no brainer.
  6. Living here in Tampa...he was blasted daily in the media for being a bust, but compared to Maybin he was an ALL PRO. I thought going to Chicago he would turn his career around. I feel for his family. RIP Gaines
  7. This is the same guy who lost the Jets game because he couldnt block a safety (Kerry Rhodes) because he was thinking about "How much money he would lose".
  8. AVP to Perry: "Ohhhh I forgot all about that reverse play. Lets try that...."
  9. JP Losman Fanboys / Trent Edwards Haters and Trent Edwards Fanboys / JP Losman Haters are synonymous
  10. Wait 15 years and get the kid playing in little league Why are we waiting.... instead of Trent's balls in the vice put Dick's Head in the vice... ouch
  11. Funny you posted this topic. As the Bills were in the midst of the situation and trotting out the FG unit, I thought of the same thing. IMO the logical choice was to go for it. weighing out the positives and negatives if you get stuffed, you are looking at a minimum 18 yard gain (1st and 10 from the 2 minus ball on 20 from a touch back). Those 18 yards equate to valuable seconds taken off the clock.
  12. Most starters have been on the field during the preseason for a successful offensive drive leading to a touchdown. Dare I say it even Brett Farve had a preseason TD. To be honest scoring a TD is not whats important. Being able to gel and move the ball as a unit is and this team has shown nothing.
  13. Each week you think it cant get anyworse, or maybe he will eventually see the light. Dick's move tonight, not starting Edwards in now the official sprinkle on top. How the hell do you not start him when your first team offense has not scored an offensive touch down in the preseason. Dont you want to get that monkey off your back before heading in to week 1. Dont you want the guys to have confidence? Come on Dick you can do better....Cant ya...
  14. Absolutely!! And when you say Pro Bowl you are referencing the fact that every other tackle out there was hurt before he got the call. Or are you referencing the Pro Bowler who started checking his bank account every time he got beat off the ball.
  15. You forgot these stats too Mike Vick's Playoff Stats Trent Edwards' Playoff Stats
  16. I heard the same thing on the "Dan Patrick Show" this morning. Referring to Peter King's statements yesterday, as well as, Tony Dungy's mention of a couple of teams interested. Here is a link to the show, but you need to pod cast it for the whole story. It was in the first hour. Dan Patrick Show Audio Link
  17. I would love to see almost every player from the SB era go in to the hall, but it wont happen Tasker - Should be a no brainer, he redefined the role of special teams and was a pro bowler. But lack of overall time on the field may hurt him Reed - Along with Jerry Rcie help define YAC. His numbers continue to fall on the list as the game transitions to a pass happy offense Talley - Bruce said it best "he sacrificed his numbers for the better of the team". We the Bills fans know how he got screwed for pro bowls and he will get screwed for the Hall. BUT if Harry Carson can make it Daryl should too. Hull - One of the best lineman over the years. But I dont see it Richter, Ballard, Woolford, Brown, Fina, etc. - No chance Hansen, Seals, Wright, Paup, Conlon, Bennett, Jones, Odoms, Williams, Smith, Kelso, Smith - No Chance If TO finishes his career as a Bill...do we celebrate him in the hall as a Buffalo Bill?
  18. From the stories I heard it was the officials who were perparing to line up for the national anthem. Thurman had always had a ritual of placing his helmet on the 40 yardline, and the official moved it.
  19. 1. Bruce Smith phantom facemask - Cinn Championship game 2. Ronnie Harmon not dragging his feet 3. 3rd and 17 - SBXXV 4, Thurman fumble - SB XXVIII 5. (Non Bills game)Marvin Jones hit on Bledsoe 6. (Non Bills) Mark Brunnel getting hurt leading to Rob Johnsons only good game 7. Fergie stepping out of his shoe in the playoffs
