  1. Certainly is an interesting trade.  Dolphins have OLINE and CB issues, but hey, 4.42 speed adds another target and insurance if Hill/Waddle get dinged up.  3M-ish base contract, so not really pricey.  How quickly he can or can't be assimilated into the Phins Borg will be interesting to see.

  2. I was listening to a talking head today, Eisen, that was talking about Burrows-Chase.  Not sure of his source, but it sounded like Chase was advocating shutting down Burrows for the first four games to allow him to heal.  Posited they could be 1-3 anyway and at least they would have a healthy Burrow afterwards.  Now he is likely to play with an injury for more games which just might dig them a record hole they can't recover from.

The Dolphins board brought up a point (yes, I hate to credit them anything, and take it with a grain of salt)

The Dolphins had been putting their man into motion right before the snap. And it works wonders because it caused confusion with assignments.

McDermott looked at this trend and realized it was a better cue than a snap count and used that the time rushers, meaning that whoever was coming on a blitz had a jump. With that, whenever the first read wasn't there Tua was rushed and made bad calls.

I think that coupled with Tua's head was always looking in the direction of his first read at the snap allowed Rousseau and White to blitz from his left side without worrying about covering that side of the field.  Miami is going to need to throw a few times to opposite direction of the flow to counter that.

Did the Bills just give the league the playbook on how to stop the “high scoring” Miami Offense or is just because we have such a good D?

Lots of really good X’s and O’s Experts on this board - what say you??

I think they did. The issue is you have to be damn fast. That one play where Tre blitzed was a good example. Tre was on top of Tua before he realized it.

I didn't take it like that.

But also think Jordan at 80% (just hypothetical) isn't as good as Rapp at 100%-- at least this week, with the speed and dynamic passing attack of Miamis.

Depends what type of defensive plan Coach has up his sleeve.  If it's a mostly soft/2 deep shell, safety play is even more mitigated/less impactful.

Not to downplay Po absence, but this game was likely coming down to our front 4 and ability to limit YAC on defense.  And our offense being able to sustain/finish drives.

Agreed.  I'm not suggesting a permament benching but rather a recognition that two healthy knees on every DB is required for this one.  So take the week and heal up fully.
