    What does this mean?

Yes the Ravens have an excellent defense.  The #3 defense in the league, as it happens.

The Bills have the #2 defense in the league.

Is there some argument beyond "we don't have the Ravens Defense" about how the matchup is bad for the Bills D or something?  because statistically, the Bills have a better defense against the pass than the Ravens do, where we're a bit worse is against the run.

I think objectively looking at it, the Ravens have better depth/talent in the secondary.  That is the edge I give them.  They also benefit from playing them twice yearly and now three times this year (twice in two weeks).  So they have their tendencies down.

A while ago during Bengals week, someone posted a video about Burrow “not caring” about football and that was supposed to be a big edge for him in big games. I can’t find it anymore.

If that’s true, that’s probably the biggest difference between him and Josh, who lives and breathes football.

Not the impression I get.  I watched an extended interview between Cowherd and Joey B.  Joe is as even keel as they come.  He thoughtfully considers his answers to every question.  He seems so inflappable.  Great quality for a QB.  He is going to be a good one for a long time.

Didn't Dawkins say they don’t like each other?  That there is some real animosity and that game Monday was going to be a shootout - he could tell from the atmosphere how intense it was going to be.

2 things I don’t like about this game:

    1.  The Bengals being AFC Champs; beat KC; upgraded their roster; and had to hear about the Bills all off season and in season.

    2.  They feel they “lost” the opportunity to play this game at home.

I’m pretty sure they hate us.

We are going to need to increase the intensity level to something the Bengals didn’t even see in Kansas City.

    And score 40.

I was at the game.  It was the loudest game I’ve ever been to.  There were a ton of Bills fans there.  Every play was being cheered by one side or the other.  It was electric until it wasn’t.

  4. I was having this discussion with my son today.  He made the point that based on style of play, the Bills won't win it all.  I countered with this:  They have played pretty much the way we saw on Sunday ALL season.  They are 14-3 playing that way.  It's very Farve-ian.   They had road wins in Baltimore and Kansas City and two late season wins against Miami.    Their three loses were by a combined 8 points and they had a chance to win all three of those games had a bounce here or there gone differently.  I do not expect a "clean" game from them.  They press the ball down field and that leads to mistakes.  But it has worked all season long and tigers don't change their stripes.  So sit back and enjoy it.  Would I be more comfortable with Von, sure, do they still have enough to take it to any team left, absolutely.  And with Cincy in Buffalo and the winner of KC/Jax either neutral or in Buffalo, they have a great chance to go to the SB.  The 8 game win streak is NOT a fluke.  This is a good team that is willing their way to the bowl againtst all threats foreign, domestic, environmental and medical.

  5. Should be an interesting game plan this week.  I don't get the sense that Cincy modifies their offensive game plan week-to-week.  Hopefully Buffalo facing Hill and Waddle twice in four weeks have paid some coverage dividends.  The DLINE needs to get home.  Would really love to see a ball control, clock eating set of drives from Buffalo.  Practice this week, because if it works, you are going to need it again the following week.

Eric Wood just said Jonah Williams had a dislocated knee cap last night. Cant imagine he'd be able to play on Sunday the, could he?

My son told me this.  Said he did it last year too and didn't miss a game.  I guess it depends if he tore anything.  I would imagine they need to wait for the swelling to go down first to determine extent.

Miami has got to try to manufacture points elsewhere - defense and special teams. Bill's offense needs to protect the ball and our special teams needs to play sound. I wouldn't be surprised to see Waddle and/or Hill returning kicks/punts. Without points from defense/ST, I don't see how Miami can win this game.

I get the sentiment, but are you really willing to risk a serious collision for 10 extra yards?

I mean if you were an an NFL player, wouldn't you want your stuff for your man cave or den? I just think it's weird teams would charge players for it. Is it just the cheapass Cards or do the Bills do the same?

Most likely. I know players buy their jerseys for a jersey swap.  Otherwise everyone would do it.  Can you imagine the cost if everyone just swapped jerseys?

I have no idea what McDaniel means by "compounding variables" and "no setbacks", so I don't think anyone could begin to guess.

In the Tua thread I posted a couple links about Kevin Kolb.  Kolb suffered a couple of concussions with Philly and with AZ that looked like nothing much, pretty routine, but kept him out for weeks.  Then he reportedly suffered a concussion with the Bills in preseason that took him 8 MONTHS to recover from and has caused him lasting effects including ringing in his ears, light sensitivity causing headaches, and short-term memory loss.

It's entirely possible that Tua is suffering similar lingering effects.

Crosby in the NHL had one of those.  He was out for an extended period of time.  I think we have gotten used to the 2 weeks or less routine of the NFL.
