  1. The AfterGlow:

    1. Seemed liked a ton of penalties on Buffalo..  A quick look at the stats confirms 9-2.

    2. Running up the middle all day.

    3. Allen with a head scratcher day.  3 TDs vs 2 INTs and a lot of questionable throws.

    4. James Cook looked great today

    5. That Gabe fumble sure kept the Bears in the game, but ultimately it was not enough

    6. Considering the Bills allowed the Bears to go down the field on the first drive, it was pretty amazing they basically shut them down the rest of the way

    7. Hines needs to catch some of those punts.  Second week in a row he let the ball go past him to be downed deep.

    8. TBass with a tough day.  That FG wasn't even close.

    9. Seems like a big drop off in special teams this year.

    10. Merry Christmas to you, yours, and the AFC East Champions.

It’s really strange how different Al is this season. Just absolutely zero energy.

Not really hard to understand..  He went from potentially marquee match-ups every week to Jets-Jags on TNF.  I don't think I have ever heard a more listless, disinterested effort than when he and the Herbster broadcast Bills-Pats..  I commented on it at the time.  He is like Brady.  He didn't know when to quit.

[I am sure this has been mentioned elsewhere (the post game thread is way too long for me to read through), but it might be a topic that deserves its own thread. A lot of people are talking about it, but mods feel free to merge this.]

I saw the game but did not listen to the NFL Network call. Apparently, Mark Sanchez was critical of Motor's decision to kneel at the four yard line. I will admit I was miffed when I saw the play. My thinking was it is a tie game in very icy conditions. In such conditions, you take the given TD rather than relying on a last-second FG where anything can go wrong (just look at what happened to Justin Tucker yesterday). Yes, I know that would leave Miami 34 seconds and a time out left for the potential tying (or winning) TD, but it is going to be a very hard thing to do. Yes, the Bills did have KC do it to them twice: 13 seconds and a similar thing against them this season at the end of the first half, and Buffalo did it to Minnesota to end the second half this year too, but I still consider it a fluke thing.

Still, I can understand the reasoning the other way. Miami has Tyreek and Jaylen, and a defender could just as well slip against them and give up the tying (or winning) TD. And a close FG, even in these situations, is still a relative gimme.

It's a tough call, and I will have to side with McD's judgment. He said in the article he has coached his team for this situation, calling it "no mas". Devin, to this credit, knew what to do!

In the comments to the article below, almost all of the people were against Buffalo not coring the TD in a tie game in icy conditions, saying the field goal was not a given (although the comments voting was about even). The twitter comments were a little more positive. They said if you have the lead, then sure, but take the points in a tie game in such conditions. They also said if Bass-o-matic missed the FG and the Dolphins went on to win in OT, people would be angry at Motor for costing us the game and first place in the AFC.

Brilliant...  I believed it at the time...  And I believed it today..   Don't give them the ball back.  Force them to burn their time outs.  Brilliant.

The Dolphins run approach was their response to what the 49ers and Chargers did to them.  Buffalo used the same approach and stayed in nickel to try and take away Hill and Waddle.  Except for a couple of huge plays by the Dolphins, it worked.  But it left the Bills vulnerable to the run, and the Dolphins sort of stayed committed to it.  Dolphins failed to make a full commit, however, as that is not what they really want to do.  It is a game of chess, and McDaniel made some good moves that Bills perhaps did not expect.  Bills will have to further adjust.

I know they got out of the run when Buffalo started to bring Poyer and Hamlin down to the LOS.. Johnson, White and Elam all had huge pass defenses after that.

    1. That Josh Allen TD drive, you know the one, where he toted the rock all the way, was vintage Allen.  Finishes it with a TD pass to Knox and an aerial 2pt conversion.  Wow, just wow!!!!

    2. TD passes to Morris, Hines and Cook..

    3. Knox was a central figure in last nights game plan.

    4. Miami running with Mostert was so effective.  Trying to understand why?  Were the Bills conceding the run to "shell" Hill and Waddle.

    5. Say and think what you will about Tua, but the kid played great.  This can't play in cold weather knock isn't fair.  It wasn't him on the field the last 5 minutes that sent the Dolphins home with an L.

    6. Cam Lewis with two brutal plays in Bills games.  First the 4th and 18 against the Vikes and then the destroying the kicker last night.

    7. Miami ran well, threw well, kicked well and still went home with an L.

    8. I'm still shocked that 90% of that game was played on a snow-free field.

    9. Josh had many memorable plays last night.  That throw of 21 to Davis on 3rd and 17 might be the best of the game.

    10. Singletary ran when they absolutely needed to run.

    11.  Allen looked so damn comfortable when it started to snow.  I can see and hear the NFL music with him standing and throwing in the snow.
