I tend to be a fan of the guys that dont get on ESPN. The Guys in teh trenches that dont get noticed but are the ones really determining the winners and losers. Eric Wood and KW are 1a and 1b. I think Poz is ok, I like George Wilson, and do like Stevie J, but I could pass on the rest of the guys - nothing really to be jealous of. If I had to pick 5 guys to build a team around, it would be those 5. If I got a 6th I would add Levitre.

Henne couldnt even keep his starting position as a Sr in college, no suprise to me he didnt pan out. SOoooooooo, DRAFT LUCK!!! 0-16 Go Bills!
-
I cannot pick out a single game the rest of the year I think we will win, but I am sure we will win 1 or 2 because of how close our last few have been. The prob is, Carolina seems to be much worse than we are, and with our SOS, if we tie with them we pick second... in which case we are FUUUUUUUUUUUUKED 0-16!!!
-
Sure why not. Try him at TE, hell why not try me at TE too? I couldnt be any worse than he already is. I bet I could never suit up for a game and never record a single significant stat. I could even do it while keeping a respectable haircut and without releasing the most embarassing rap in the history of rap. I will rejoice when that idiot is cut.

I thought Best proved himself the better running back in college (running back, not kick returner). Spiller has yet to prove he IS better, although neither has really played extremely well, which doesnt suprise me either. These small, outside running, non physical college runners simply never seem to work out in the NFL. (spare me the Chris Johnson arguement, as he IS a physical runner and ran north south in college.)

He stunk in college? He holds the record for the most TD passes by a Frosh and for careers wins..... Maybe he doesnt have much of an NFL arm, but he is a very smart player which is whats most important.

Lock Johnson and Parrish into long-term deals
High Mark replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We should add Poz to this list too. He is no pro bowler but he is out best LB and would resign here. He is worlds better than Kelsay and he got a deal. Whitner we should try to resign, but he will likely want a deal paying him more than a below average safety, at which point we should let him walk as GW is better than him anyways. If monetarily it takes cutting Evans then fine, Johnson is showing us how average Lee is, and how little he means to this team. -
Fitz and his accuracy (or lack of)
High Mark replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea, 0-6, with Fitz being the main reason we lose the game in the 4th qtr. Ironically he is also the reason we are in the game in the 4th Sure I like Fitz's guts, but for some reason winning the game is more important to me. -
I think what he is saying is that there is no cleaer cut top talent. Last year it was Suh hands down from day 1 (to the poster that said he was unknown until Nov. - He was the #1 or #2 rated Jr by the National the year before) Joe Thomas and Calvin Johnson were elite top prospects in 2007, Jake Long was the clear cut stud in 2008. This year there are 3-4 OTs that are being touted as good by different sources, but none is that great. There is more talent along the DL but not 1 clear cut top guy that everyone can agree on, I noticed that myself and am a little upset about it.

Fitz and his accuracy (or lack of)
High Mark replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree completely and that is why Fitz is a backup in this league. He has kept us in these games only to lose them for us. We need a QB. Mallet has these same accuracy issues as Fitz so it cannot be him. It has to be Luck. No reason to replace Fitz unless its going to be an upgrade, and Luck is the only upgrade. -
Fitz is good enough to keep it close, but not good enough to win. He is way too inaccurate to be any kind of consistent. He is a smart player though which helps the offense as a whole. The worst thing that could happen is us pass on Luck bc of Fitz.
-
Sure, why not. I am starting to like this winless thing anyway.... Are you forgetting the key turnovers that Fitz had, which played a huge role in us losing the last 4 weeks? A great QB would have won those 4, an average wins 2, and a bad QB wins 0.

running game is the problem
High Mark replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, the problem with Spiller is that he is not an O lineman. The problem with Fred is there is no hole for him to run through because Spiller is not an O lineman. The funny thing is that O lineman would also be able to block for Fitz, which would improve our passing game too. If you think the problem with our running game is our backs you are sadly mistaken. -
Ill beat the pile of bones that is this dead horse, but there are a minimum of 50 LBs either on the street or on someones practice squad that could out perform Kelsay. Why he wasnt cut eons ago is beyond me. He has never once been good, not even as a LDE. Ryan Denney always out performed him (even though he still stunk). I honestly hate Kelsay.
-
I agree. But, there is a reason that this team has Whitner and Maybin and a 4th round pick (Lynch) instead of Ngata, Orakpo, and Jon Beason, and that reason is the worst front office in the NFL. None of those are hindsight picks but rather completely obvious picks everyone thought were coming because they jsut amde too much sense. Heck, they resinged Kelsay for petes sakes! How can anyone expect anythign but lose after lose with the same bunch of retards running the show. As much as I want Luck to declare and us to go 0-16 to draft him, I just know that they will pass on him for another shittty bust.

Little something to keep an eye on........
High Mark replied to JStranger76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, relatively Bell has been excellent this season. Our OL needs go RT, RT, RT, C, Lt. He leaves somthing to be desired as a run blocker but his pass protection is adequate. If the rest of our line was upgraded, we could afford to give him a chip and/or double team once in a while which would be nice. I am hoping we get 2 new starts at C/G and RT this draft. Carimi rd2, and the top interior prospect in rd3. There should be lots to choose from. -
God, does this team need some Luck.

Let me tell you good sir, it is quite refreshing to have an intelligent poster adding to the discussion. As for the bolded line, I love it. I use it often myself. Luck is the guy. -
I dont think there will ever be another Payton Manning, but IMO Luck is going to be as good as the Rodgers/Rivers/Roethisburger/Brees And I would trade everything it took too.

Is Buffalo's future in Michigan's hands?

What do u consider a winning season
High Mark replied to qdawg in philly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This season our championship is an 0-16 season. Lets be honest, the way we draft, the coaches we hire, the scouts we dont fire, the extension of kelsay.... we DESERVE to go 0-16 as punishment for a decade of incredibly moronic decisions. The benifit to that is if Andrew Luck declares we will have one of the best QBs in the league for 15 years. That is as big IF though, bc as how our history has shown, we will likely not draft Luck because he is the obvious best player and will take some guy who stinks. We will have our opportunity to right our wrongs though, which hopefully could turn this sad ship around. Heres to 0-16 -

Mallets 40 yard out would be 10 yards wide of his target. That loft you speak of is called touch. The Bills haven't had a QB with it in 15+years so thats prob why you aren't used to seeing it. But when he needs to rope one in he does, I saw a handful of wide side throws tonight he darted in. As for his accuracy, I'm sorry but its stellar, near perfect ball placement, coupled with incredible anticipation. Maybe you thought he was in white tonight? Now I dont mean to knock Mallet, but I dont think its even close. Luck is by far and away the best QB out there. Locker blows nuts, and Mallet is meh with a huge arm. Ponder has nothing to envy, and Luck is incredible. He amazes in every category you cannot measure. On top of that he is accurate as hell, 6'4' and 230 with way above average athleticism with intelligence to boot. Mallets back up has performed as well as he has, his offense made Brohm a top 10 pick consideration, and he just doesn't have the accuracy(ball placement) to succeed in the NFL. Knowing the Bills draft history as I/We do, I would trade every pick it took to move up the 1 or 2 spots it would take to draft Luck (in the rare event we aren't picking #1 overall in April). This guy is at the same level Manning and Matt Ryan were at when they came out, and IMO will have the same kidn of instant success/great long career that those two are having/will have. PS I agree with the poster who wanted to add haurbaugh as HC - he was my first choice when he hired Gailey (harbaugh, it was rumored, never even interviewed but they offered him the job anyways, and he rejected) -
Merriman: After these next 9 games...
High Mark replied to bills1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we have a very good chance of keeping him around. This is a guy who has a lot to prove, and if he proves to be good we have a head start to signing him as he is already here. If he sucks then he is a lock to stay here as we always resign guys that suck. In reality, our team is terrible. our opponents could triple team him every play if they wanted. He is not going to produce like a maniac and get some huge contract elsewhere. At the end of the year we are going to be the only team that knows his true value and my bet is we lock him up long term.
