  1. Three big trades already not including the Washington-Cleveland trade for Griffin. Was it OC in Buffalo who said there wouldn't be many/any trades in the first round?
  2. There was no doubt that Blackmon was the elite receiver in this draft. So Barron and Claiborne are the last two "elites."
  3. thanks, I was just kidding.
  4. JK. Glad you started a new topic, KD. It might get real cluttered. I was trying to remember back to last year how we did this. I was thinking that maybe we should do a new topic for each round. Just a thought… I'm not a big thread starter. Anyways, GO BILLS!!!
  5. House Ballard always liked who?
  6. Bruce Irvin. Will end up being one of the elite players from this draft.
  7. BTW, did you know that the Bills are the only team which plays their games… ah… never mind. update: Coach Sal is reporting that the draft is visiting Jim and Jill Kelly's home… more to follow.
  8. I think there's good LB depth throughout the draft but that it's underwhelming at the top. JMO.
  9. Yeah I know it would never happen for this and other reasons… NE RB Robert Edwards destroyed his knee during a beach football game one year at the Super Bowl at a league-sponsored event. But I love the idea nonetheless.
  10. Thank you, I appreciate it. I can't remember which game it was I saw but he was throwing short… maybe the defense was forcing him to check down. I just watched some of Wilson's work against Michigan State. He threw an INT which was Nick Toon's fault (Toon never looked for the ball) but the moment the ball was intercepted, instead of getting pissed off or drooping his shoulders in discouragement, Wilson IMMEDIATELY sprinted downfield and tackled the interceptor. It was a very impressive unguarded glimpse into his character because 99 out of 100 QBs would either have been pissed or downcast. Wilson's ONLY thought was to tackle the ball carrier. Overall Wilson looked good in that game.
  11. Let me get this straight… if Kalil fell to our pick at #10, you still wouldn't want the Bills to draft him?
  12. So we trade a 3rd rounder for a 30-year old pass rusher and if he's unreasonable in his contract demands we cut him after one season? No. The way it would have to work in a trade, is that you would have to attain cost certainty before you made the trade. Even though the player is saying he'll play out the last year of his contract, you cannot give up a draft pick for him if you don't know if he'll re-sign with you. It would be irresponsible to trade for him without agreeing to an extension with him first.
  13. I saw tape of one game and he was basically throwing it short on every passing play. Does anyone know what his yards per attempt was this past season?
  14. Skills competition with cash prizes. edit: In fact, do the combine drills in the competition so we can compare Pro Bowlers with college prospects.
  15. I didn't say "I didn't include information and I meant more than I said". I said "I'm not gonna go digging to prove a point." I'm not gonna debate with you. There's no evidence of good faith on your part. It's a waste of my time.
  16. Really? You mean the guy that was drafted by Russ Brandon and Dick Jauron?
  17. A lot of people I respect here like Kuechly. But I've been with Lurker on this one. Here's the two things about Kuechly: He played on a mediocre team with a mediocre line in front of him. NO linebacker will look good in those circumstances… I recall people saying Ray Lewis was near the end of his career after the Ravens lost Sam Adams and Tony Siragusa. In other words, people were saying Ray Lewis was washed up in 2002. After the Ravens acquired Kelly Gregg and Haloti Ngata, suddenly Ray Lewis looked like the dominant LB he had always been. Truth is, Lewis' play never changed… only the quality of the players in front of him did. That's the way it is with linebackers. They are only as good as the guys protecting them. On the negative side however, having watched a significant amount of video on Kuechly, I just don't see it… particularly Mayock's comments ring hollow. If you look at the BC-Clemson game from this most recent season, Kuechly looks completely lost in pass coverage… and yet Mayock says he's the best zone cover backer he's ever seen? I'd take Mayock's word before mine of course but I also trust my own eyes and judgement so the disconnect makes me very wary of Kuechly.
  18. Mike, what say you to the contention that Buddy is cheap and that Ralph is asleep?
  19. Not that there's anything wrong with that…
