I wouldn't say Donald Jones is a lock to make this team. I think as of now he will, but if Buster Davis can show some skills on Special Teams too I wouldn't be all that surprised if he made it in favor of him. As for TE, I think Nelson is the odd man out at this point. He's hurt once again, hasn't showed anything when he is healthy and since Chandler and Martin are both looking solid, Nelson has to compete with desperate undrafted rookies like Pinalto who don't look all that bad.

I don't see this guy making the team unless he's a better special teams player than Donald Jones. Not much to see here, he won't mean anything to this team in 2 months.

I won't freak out about them resigning him as long as it's not over 3 mil a year.

Bottom line: who would you rather have this year? Mckinnie or Erik Pears...think about that for second.

I think comparing him to James Harrison may be a reach, but it at least proves that a guy his size can in fact play OLB. I can understand why height should play a role in the decision between OLB and ILB, but weight is so much more important. I'd much rather have 6'0 250 then 6'4 228 (aka Aaron Maybin).

Bush is not an every down back, they have no QB and their only WR has mental issues. But yeah they'll probably go 8-8...

Then can extend Stevie Johnson's contract mid season if he proves that he's going to have another boarder line pro bowl year or better. And they could extend Kyle Williams' contract whenever, he's proven his worth.

Hopefully that MMA training helped him get more flexible, less injury prone.

I think Warren should be Lawson should be our main target from here on out. I obivously would take Warren too but we have Edwards and even if he gets hurt Carrington should be given the chance to step up. (Obviously excluding Dareus, there's no reason why he shouldn't be playing). But even if Merriman can stay healthy there's still a huge question mark at the other OLB, that's including a possible switch back to the outside for Moats. Lawson will at least help us against the run and cover in the passing game.

I agree, but it's been the same way for years. The only way we're going to get attention from ESPN is if we're really good, which we haven't been for a while. Although, it does seem dumb that a poll asking who will win the division doesn't have all of the teams on it.

That's something I've been wondering myself. Troup in terms of size is much better off playing NT than Williams. I'm sure he'd do okay against the run in the 3-4 at DE (which is a 3-4 DE's primary job) but I'm sure whether they'd ever do that because of his stockiness.

I'm from out of town, that really screws me over.

I for one am still willing to give him a shot. If it doesn't work out we have other guys who can step in and we probably won't have to pay him much.

Really not all that bad. If Merriman and Barnett could return to full form this is a very underrated defense. Not to mention the potential of Moats and Sheppard who could both step up this year in a big way.

Moats-Barnett- Davis/sheppard - Merriman. That's deadly depending on Merriman/Barnett's health.
