  1. Yes, because you can never have enough QBs and if you end up with a Rivers and Brees on your team, you can always make a trade.
  2. Donte gets a lot of grief, but he did not pick himself in the first round - so now this thing has run its course and the Bills are likely to say goodbye. Once Donte is gone, maybe the focus will turn to players drafted about as high but don't play on game days (Maybin and McCargo).
  3. D- sounds about right and the Bills have not been able to benefit from their many years of sub-500 play that has put them closer to the top in draft choices. Of course, they have not been helped with total flameout high draft choices (like Maybin and McCargo) and have been treading water in the AFC East (if not starting to sink going from 7-9 to 6-10 to 4-12 last year). Like their run defense, there is only one direction to go and that is up!
  4. Donte is a good football player, but he has always been a liability in the passing game and other teams know it. The Bills need to fix that and the same goes for Kelsey, who can’t cover a TE to save his life.
  5. If you like Chan and Buddy or if you don't like the three year coaching carousel that the Bills have in place (or just a Bills fan), you want as many wins as possible and while I agree Fitz might not be the next Payton Manning, with some help on the OL, he can become much better if not elite. Chris Hairston may be able to contribute or the Bills might pick up a free agent OT.
  6. Most people should be happy with this draft. Yeah, maybe some people wanted a LB in the second, but the Bills seem to have done their homework and hopefully will put things together this year. Ralph Wilson had two words for Bills fans last year: “Pain and Patience”. I’m good with the patience part - if Ralph, at 92 years old, or whoever might buy this team will do the same. Since the Bills have been changing their coaching staff every three years I would like to advocate that we give Chan and Buddy more time to see if the fruits of their labor succeed. It just might take more three years to rebuild and it remains to be seen if Fitz is really the player the Bills need him to be.
  7. I agree that in hindsight he was drafted too high, which by itself is not much different than drafting say McCargo or Maybin, but people have less tolerance for players that make it on the field like Whitner, than two players who might not even dress for a game and take up roster spots.
  8. that would likely happen if the Sabres and Bills both won championships.
  9. I like the idea that Buddy and Chan have a plan. It seems as though the Bills have been changing their coaching staff every three years. Just when one regime has “their” players in place, another staff comes an starts the process over again. If we now have football savvy people running the Bills (instead of a marketing guy who is good at marketing), then let’s try to give this staff more than three years to get this thing headed in the right direction.
  10. Things change all the time...like for example - last year early in the season, a lot of people were thinking Locker and Mullet were the next best thing.
  11. There is a great feature on this site if you get tired of reading a certain person's point of view: Buffalo Bills Forums> Your control panel> Profile> Manage Ignored Users
  12. This last pick better be a Defensive Back because when traveling, the DBs will get a discount for 14 or more members and can charter their own plane or bus. Jairus Byrd FS Reggie Corner CB Jon Corto SS Terrence McGee CB Leodis McKelvin CB George Wilson FS Bryan Scott SS Da'Norris Searcy SS Aaron Williams CB Justin Rogers CB Drayton Florence CB Donte Whitner SS Ashton Youboty CB
  13. Either Jauron is running the Bills 2011 draft or Nix is trying to piss off the last remains of the fan base.
  14. No brainer with Dareus. Would have liked to seen Ayers, Martez Wilson or Bowers in the 2nd, but as Dick Jauron says, you can never have enough CBs. Kelvin Sheppard seems like a solid pick and the Bills know him. Will this be the year the Bills jetison Maybin and McCargo and make room for the next Joique Bell type player?
  15. Every year the Bills play the pats twice a year...and lose. Okay, I am good with picking a Nickel CB...another high pick at DB. Maybe I am just hung up on bad teams that draft high should be able to improve themselves by picking up impact players that will make a difference and the Bills, frankly do not have a good track record in this regard. I get the whole be a fan and everything..sat through many windy cold games to the last snap, but really you have to wonder sometimes...
  16. I have been a bills fan for many decades...are you going to fault me for wanting to beat New England and compete in the AFC East? How many other fans have made the annual trip to the New England game and not thought about what it will take to be competitive in the AFC East?
  17. Whatever, if this staff thinks that the missing link to beating New England on their way to enough wins to compete in the AFC East is to draft a nickel back that will make an immediate impact this year and next, then great. This means that the Bills will improve this year and next to reach above .500 which is what it will take before the next coaching staff comes in and washes, rinses and repeats... (hint: the Bills change coaching staffs every three years...2000-present: no playoffs)
  18. whatever - if you are a drink the kool-aid fan or work for the Bills, I don't care how much spin you put on it, here is the reality: Year - W - L 2005 - 5 - 11 2006 - 7 - 9 2007 - 7 - 9 2008 - 7 - 9 2009 - 6 - 10 2010 - 4 - 12
  19. Not sure I can reconcile to the pick and sorry I started another thread on this topic. For me, it starts in the AFC East. That is where the Bills play and compete. Just my opinion, but drafting this high in the 2nd? We do not have six picks in the first three rounds like the Patriots to develop players. If we want to win now, we need impact players that will start now.
  20. If this was a position of need, then they better let McKelvin in so he can train...and Nix does not think the Bills have as many needs as most think?!? McGee is 30 (must be over the hill)? lol, better let Byrd, Corner, McGee, Scott and Wilson in so they can train also.
  21. So this is the position of need? More than ILB, OLB, QB, OT? "We can never have enough CBs" - Dick Jauron At least Andre Reed was cool...
